My sister, my mother, and I all tried in vain to get the pictures and we were all met with varying stall tactics, excuses, and unreturned phone calls. To top it off, Chris W. had my first review removed and sent me this threat: "Take down your fake comment or we will send lawyers notes. You've never been a client of ours so our lies can stop." So no, I wouldn't recommend this guy to take a picture of cold cow dung for you; much less tell you to trust him with your special memories.

I was told all single photographer weddings under a certain $$$ amount would be transferred to North x North. I immediately called both parties for further explanation. I don't believe I ever really got an accurate story. I couldn't tell if there was a parting of ways or not? The explanation was rather vague, but it seemed North x North was still an affiliate of Foto Envy? However, I had to sign a completely new contract with North x North. I was apprehensive, but I was able to keep my original photographer, and my wedding was 6 months away. I didn't want to start over looking for a new photographer. I signed and my deposit was transferred to North x North. I paid the balance of my contract in March 2016. End of April rolled around and I decided to reach out to my photographer to start discussing specific details for the wedding. On 4/30/16 (wedding date was to be 6/11/2016) I received an email from Yunkin, explaining that he was moving his photography buisness to Seattle, but had found 4 photographers who would be happy to take over my contract for my wedding day. No phone call, just an email. I was stunned. None of the suggested photographers were even local. I had no idea who any of them were. Basically, I had 6 weeks before my wedding to meet and select a new photographer. After several phone calls to both Yunkin himself and Foto Envy, I did receive a full refund. Foto Envy apologized, and made it seem they had nothing to do with Yunkin any longer. Yunkin apologized as well, but it was really too late for apologies. I was lucky enough to secure a new local photographer for my date. I have no idea whether Foto Envy is affiliated with North x North anymore or not? Maybe it's just buisness, but I feel both parties acted poorly. The lack of communication and way this situation was handled, was in my opinion, very unprofessional.

I am a worrier and I worry about everything. As someone who watches the local news before bed, I've…read moreseen probably 500 different segments of "Problem Solvers" (or some variation) about a couple who paid a photographer thousands of dollars only to have them bail last minute, take crappy photos, or disappear forever after taking said photos. So naturally, since wedding photos were my #1 priority, I was basically a lunatic when it came to finding our photographer. A friend of ours is a former wedding planner and she recommend us to Christopher as someone who had helped her out in a pinch. We loved his website, but it all seemed to good to be true. It wasn't! After talking with him I couldn't have felt more at ease. I can't say we didn't put him through the ringer while "interviewing" with him, but I can say how absolutely THRILLED we are with our wedding photos. I jokingly tell everyone that I love my wedding photos more than I could ever love my husband (so far its not true, but only time will tell how that pans out..;) KIDDING). Christopher was awesome to work with. We are inherently awkward and unruly people, but Christoper did a great job of coaching us and capturing "real" photos. There isn't a photo in our collection that looks overly posed or unnatural (we worked out those kinks during our engagement shoot). In the end we received about 1400 edited, digital photos (I can't imagine how many he actually took!), and the count does not even include our engagement session. We had him all day from 9am to 10pm, and our package included a 2nd photographer. I also can't emphasis enough how easy it was to have Christopher around us all day, even in the limo as we cruised before the reception. Our friends were probably even too comfortable around him which explains some unusual groomsmen photos.. My best advice (obviously stolen from Christopher): 1. DO the engagement session. We wanted to bail on it, but I can't stress enough how much it helped to practice being in front of camera. I think it made our wedding photos a million times less awkward having been used to the camera being on us. 2. Hold your bouquet low as you walk down the aisle. I see so many photos (not done by Chris) where the bride is holding her bouquet by her chest and covering up that dress you just paid hundreds of dollars for. Also smile!! Maybe you are crying, or about to barf, but just smile.. that goofy look is what people call 'true love'. 3. Try to think about the photos that you actually WANT. I've been in so many weddings where I have to sit through 4 hours of photos while EVERYONE gets portraits done. Why do you want a picture of just you and your great aunt? Do you need a solo portrait of each bridesmaid? Who frames a solitary photo of themselves? Christopher was more than willing to take whatever photos we asked, but our family photos took 20 minutes tops. The group photos are the ones you are going to frame anyway. Cut the excess and get to your reception.. you should be partying right now! (Also make sure to sneak away for 15 minutes towards the end of your reception.. I mean have you SEEN his website? The man knows his way around a flash at night).

Called her in the morning to inquire about dj services and it seemed like she couldn't get me off the phone quick enough. Instead of making a new connection with a potential client she made it clear that "it's easier for me if I just email you a brochure"... not a great start for a new bride looking for services. After emailing back and forth we made an appointment to speak over the phone and low and behold.. was still given the same bad attitude. Very short and vague answers, no attempt to share excitement or make me feel comfortable/that she wanted to be speaking with me. If you're the front line of a business I highly recommend making an effort to get to know your clients or just don't act like the people who want to spend thousands of dollars on your services are a bother. Will be going somewhere else.

During our session at the EJB studio in Belvidere, Evelina just had us sit back and relax while she and her partner handled the twins! It actually felt like a nice break for our sleep deprived selves! She has the cutest props, backdrops and editing skills. Photography and capturing moments is worth the investment, prices at Ejb are a little higher but WORTH every penny. There are several packages to choose from. Remember, your babies will only be newborns once! :-) The turnaround time for previewing photos was quick, editing was quick. We are 110% happy with our experience and results.
