I cannot say enough about Dr. S. Luke Berthelsen and his entire team. After nearly two years of working together to get to the bottom of my foot discomfort, through tests, procedures, and finally a Morton's neuroma diagnosis, I made the decision to move forward with surgery. I was scared, and I knew the risks. With this procedure, the affected nerve is removed, and losing sensation in your toes is a very real possibility. But I put my trust in this team, and I am so glad I did. Dr. Berthelsen is everything you hope for in a physician: skilled, thorough, and truly invested in his patients. Dr. Alina Tran was equally incredible, providing the same level of expertise and genuine care throughout my entire journey. And Rachel at the front desk deserves her own recognition. She has been kind, responsive, and on top of everything from day one. You feel the warmth of this practice the moment you walk through the door. Three months post-surgery, I am still healing, but I am honestly amazed at where I am. The neuroma is gone, and my nerve sensation has come back tremendously. Every person's experience and recovery will be their own, and I can only speak for myself. But personally, I feel truly blessed. Blessed to have found this team, blessed to be where I am in my recovery, and so deeply grateful for the care, patience, and dedication they have shown me every step of the way. I made an appointment to deal with a plantar fascists issue. I ended up having to work that day, and have been trying to get ahold of them to reschedule. I have called no less than 6 times and left 4 or 5 messages. Not once have they called me back. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of this doctor. Do not recommend. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Nishijima. He was very clear about the procedure and his work was very effective (matrix-ctomy). The procedure was relatively inexpensive and the process of having it approved by my insurance was sort of a headache. If I need this done to my other foot I would just pay in cash. But I'm very happy with the level of care I received at Foundation and I would definitely see them again in the future. read more

I would go every two months to have my toe nails clipped. Dr. Berthelsen clipped my nails and left (actually ran out of) the room. My nails looked like they were cut with a weed wacker. No explanation. I believe that for some reason he does not want me as a patient. read more

Just walked out of their office before seeing the doctor. I called 3 times from 9-10 to ensure I had the correct address. I waited for someone to answer the phone while listening to music for a combined total of 26 minutes and no one ever answered. I got to my 10:40 appointment at 10:30, filled out paperwork and then waited until 11:25 when I was taken back to a room. The staff wanted me to tell her about every surgery I've ever had in my life while only one foot surgery was relevant to the foot problem I was having. I've had multiple surgeries that I wasn't going to list. I was told they can't bill insurance without knowing all of my surgeries. I walked out. I sat there in the waiting room for 45 minutes where I could have listed my surgeries, if appropriate. I work in customer service. I know it's a doctor's office but keeping someone waiting for 45 minutes is inexcusable. I left work and didn't have time for nonsensical questions. Super disappointed with the office. Hopefully it was just a bad day for them, although how the were 45 minutes behind when they'd only been open for an hour and a half is mind-boggling. I will find another office where my time is valued. read more

I was immediately impressed with Dr. Berthelsen and his knowledge of what needed to be done to my toe it was of bone on bone and a lot of pain. His process after surgery was so much different than a previous surgeon I had been too. Like no crutches! Rachel was awesome and put me on the calendar to get the date I needed for surgery. It has been over a year since going into the office to have my ingrown toenail's taken care of. The staff was very nice. The problem is that the procedure was not done by Dr. Berthelsen but, rather a young intern. My nails are now jacked up. Six months after visiting the office I found a 1"piece of nail that had been left deep under my cutical. And, since there was a sheet that prevented me from watching what was going on, it was not until I changed my bandages, days later, that I saw the most painful side of a nail wasn't even taken care of. I was not happy about making an appointment to see Dr. Berthelsen, only to be handed off to someone unqualified. Well, I'm guessing the doctor would have done a better job. I don't know. All I know is that I am still waiting for them to look somewhat normal again. read more

I had a consultation for a painful injured hammer toe and bunion with Luke Berthelsen, DPM, owner of Foundation Foot and Ankle. He recommended surgery for both conditions but his office always went to voicemail and the office didn't call me back. Therefore, I couldn't make a surgical appointment. My primary physician told me they were non-responsive to her office as well. I will be seeking a consult elsewhere and have to start all over again with x-rays and an initial examination. I also had to go through the trouble of getting a new referral for a different podiatrist. What a waste of time. read more

After cutting my foot open with sheet metal and needing surgery to repair my extensor tendon (pinky toe tendon) I was sent to Dr. Berthelsons office foundation foot and ankle. Although I had to wait an unfortunate 15 days in pain before surgery (typically supposed to be done day of) it had nothing to do with them and everything to do with insurance and approvals. The entire time Berthelson and his team were accommodating, comforting and professional. I greatly appreciate what these surgeons do and how many people they help on a daily basis. I had my surgery almost a month ago and everything went perfect, healing is going well and I'm almost out of the boot. Thank you SO much Dr. Berthelson, Dr. Pinksknee (apologize if I butcher your names) Rachel from the front desk, and the new doctor I met today who was so gentle and sweet while removing my sutchers.
