I am writing about this school just to save few parents from a big Scam…read more First thing I blame myself to enroll my daughter to this school without knowing the consequence I have gone through reviews in google and found few fake (I guess they have put those by themselves ) The principle was all smiley the day of enrollment after 6 month when I have almost paid a year tuition fee I got to know they are not doing STATE EXAM So I asked why is that is it because of Covid ? We were told (during enrollment) by principle that they are following all board of education rules also there are some extra Islamic classes and that is the reason we enrolled our daughter So the reply came from principle "are you going to pay 1400 dollar for the exam ?then we will have them state exam" I was shocked! lets make it short there were 4 student total in her class for state exam they will not pay anything to state and they wants parents to pay even after 1 year fee of 5000 dollar apx honestly by this time i was done with them because there teacher has been missing classes for months there were no lunch provided as promised (juice is lunch for them) only one lady (Terry) does all the job with all fake extension they will charge you a year fee within 6-7 months which they have never mentioned before every month they send you bill though you have paid all mismanagement and totally a disaster and using Islamic study they are here just to give you false hope and lie

The teachers work very diligently to teach the NY state curriculum. Although it is a smaller, private school, I feel that my child is benefiting from the teacher/student ratio. The extra time my child gets is obvious in her progression. I have read some of the reviews (way old) and have to say that they are NOT what I am experiencing. My daughter cannot wait to go to school. She is excited about learning. Even on the days that NY public school is not having class, my daughter is eager to go to school. She wants to be there. I find this so comforting.

Except paying for classes I take I don't pay or get asked to pay or am forced or pressured to pay anything. Do understand that donations would help keep the place running but it isn't something pushed or forced on you. When I took the New Muslim class I received a free bag with books, a bottle for cleaning and a beautiful prayer rug. At some point I received prayer beads. Get free coffee or tea and snacks every class. I am also taking an Arabic learning class now. Both teachers I have had are super great. Patient and kind. Most staff there that I have met have been super nice and kind. They have events regularly. I haven't had chance to go because of work but insha'Allah I will go soon. They are great and I am glad I went as I was scared to all those months ago based on that review from 2 years ago. Thankfully I listened to my gut and went. Understand there are different schools of Islam that some follow such as hanafi, maliki, shafi'i and hanbali which are Sunni and there are others including shia Muslims. But just because there may be some difference​s such as if when you pray the placement of your hands. Doesn't mean we can't all be together and respect each other. If you are new do not worry about picking a school to follow. Learn what you can and eventually when you are ready and know which school works for you then fine but at your own time and place. Haven't been pressured to do anything here. The teacher for the new Muslim class would describe any such differences in an unbiased way. He also really want into subjects that we as reverts want answered but not many will go into sensitive topics. Ahhh I wrote a lot and wish I could keep writing to address any issues or doubt's some may have but you just have to go and see for yourself.

This church is part of the Assemblies of God denomination, which is charismatic. If you don't know…read morewhat charismatic means, it simply means denominations, groups and individuals that believe God still does the same stuff like He did when the church started: healed people; prophecy being experienced; people experiencing miracles. Charismatic can be individual and not tied to the church. For example, say you believe that God still heals people today but your church doesn't, that means your charismatic. It's a simple label to help identify those who believe this way or not. Christians that aren't charismatic are basically people who see the Bible as the all you need to know, God wishes you the best and He'll be waiting for you in heaven. It should be noted that this church is predominately Korean. There's only a few handful that isn't and I literally mean handful, which I'm part of that hand. Even though it is mainly composed of one race, this is very welcoming. K-Pop fans, you're going to love this place! And seriously you do feel God's love here, due to the warming and caring nature. The service is laid back, contemporary. It isn't the crazy charismatic kind that you might see on TV, where people are yelling and all disorderly. Sermons great and the Pastor he's one of these young hip guys and no, he doesn't have an accent. This is a great place to develop friendships and closeness to God, I highly recommend this place.

I've only been to SAJ once so far, but the experience was wonderful enough that I already feel confident writing this review. I went to SAJ tonight for a pre-Hanukkah party. Even though there were easily more than 100 people in the room (including many, many children under the age of 10), the chazzan, rabbi, and rabbi's wife all immediately recognized me as a newcomer and came up to chat within my first five minutes in the room. They were all very friendly and easy to talk to -- the rabbi's wife and I even have a mutual friend back in Singapore! I've visited a lot of synagogues around the city in the past few weeks, and my visit to SAJ was easily the most welcoming experience I've had yet. After that initial welcome, the rest of my experience at SAJ was equally great. Even though the party was mostly designed for the kids, there was still plenty that would appeal to adults. At one point the rabbi and another man staged a hilarious "latkes vs. hamantaschen" mock debate that addressed, among other things, the question of whether latkes might be partially responsible for climate change due to their relationship with oil. Ha! I'm going to keep exploring other shuls around the city, but I'll definitely head back to SAJ for Shabbat as soon as possible. My first visit was wonderful enough to convince me to give this community a second (and third, and forth) look!
