Warning to anyone wishing to cancel their policy…read more In late December 2024 I call to cancel my auto and homeowners' insurance due to rising premiums. I was asked the reason why and stated it was because of rising costs. In addition, I was asked to provide a cancellation date as well as proof of coverage by another insurance carrier. I gave them a date but declined to state who the new carrier might be out of fear of retribution as the agent was becoming agitated because of the cancellation. I was told that if I didn't provide proof of insurance for the homeowners, I would incur additional costs. How crazy is that..... you have to pay to cancel?....because they raised the premiums? As a result, I was sent to Allstate collection in the amount of $136.72 for failure to cancel. The agent decided to not cancel the policy after being informed and instructed to do so. Apparently, they value their commissions more than they value customer service.

I was advised originally advised that I would received my full payment that they deducted from my account even though I cancelled my policy before then, and was now advised that I will not be getting my full payment that they took! Explained I only had 1 claim for $1000 w/a 1000 deductible and that the other claims she was looking at were not mine from previous address (it was a condo). She persisted and had me waste hours of my time calling all three credit agencies to remove a block I told her did not exist. She then cancelled my insurance policy claiming it was my fault for not removing the block. I attempted to contact the agent of the office (Tom Miller) 2 times and he refused to even respond. Corporate got involved and suggested switching agents and then reinstated the policy. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE. The staff is incompetent and Tom Miller does not want to be bothered. Cant imagine what happens if you are dealing with a claim.
