It was so heartwarming to see the little kids from several classes perform. - Parking - Center lot. SCT is located in a strip mall on Victory, a very busy part of town. It's right across the street from Chick-Fil- A, also on Victory. The theatre is a lot bigger than I thought. From the outside, I got the impression that it was a small theatre. In fact, the space is pretty deep and there are several rooms and sections in the theatre. From what I saw, the children's field trip was basically participating in one of the workshops that SCT offers to children of all ages. It was so adorable to see the kids on stage. The kids were given various small props like a themed hat and they performed various Aesop's tales with the help of the instructor. There were at least 3 instructors and they each took turns directing the group of young aspiring actors on stage. The instructors did a great job! Such a fun way to get kids involved in the arts. I'll have to look at their schedule of performances and check out some shows with my kids!

Like their motto states....they inspire, educate, and motivate young actors. Their theatre space is…read moreamazing and the productions they put together reaches for Broadway excellence. Last year's production of Phantom of the Opera was the best show in Savannah. Their most recent production of the Little Mermaid was absolutely magical. I understand they are preparing for Jekyll and Hyde the musical. I already bought my tickets and encourage all theatre lovers to go see this performance which will be in the historic Savannah Theatre. They work harder than any theatre company in Savannah.

This YMCA didn't provide me a breakdown of what my toddler was going to go over. I didn't even know that was a thing until another YMCA gave me a welcome sheet at the first class! They set the standard high. It's summer, so there are a lot of people and summer camps, especially with it being a noon class. They could definitely increase the seating area for parents, and put more shaded areas. The pool is a little tight. The kids water play area is awesome, for babies and older kids. It's not a terrible YMCA, but it's definitely congested and I've experienced better instructors and customer service elsewhere.

They have automated the gate/entry and that same gate card works at other Y's. The desk staff are always welcoming and supportive and do their best to answer all questions. Free Wi-Fi and a lot of TV's for watching. Good points: they have opened the gym area so that it doesn't have that walk of shame feeling where everyone is staring at you. I hated walking through the treadmills as if I was being judged and I'm in fair shape. Cons: even though it was opened up/remodeled, the free weight area is still a tight space and you still have to learn to walk around and not hit someone in the head with your weights. The worst: the YMCA officially became the Y a few decades ago. i.e. there are women here and the goal became to not be so beat you over the head with a bible. I am a Christian and go to church faithfully. And yet, this place hired a chaplain. Why? And why for incredible amounts of $$$ with benefits and a car when it's supposed to be for the community at large? For over $100k, there are far too many things that are needed: more stuff for the elderly, disadvantaged, poor, children....... more trainers that help all for no cost. I find that the full time staff ignore most of the people including the elderly. Richard in the wheelchair is the only full timer (?) that talks to everybody.
