The first part takes you on a trolley ride that goes around town in a trolley while hearing from a tour guide. This part definitely emphasizes on the historical parts of Savannah and it's interesting to see these sorts of buildings with a bit of narration. The 2nd half had us stop at an old building and when we walked in, we got an amazing show inside. Note that photography is not allowed during the show. Although the story was more theatrical-oriented than historical and sometimes gave a chuckle, the actors have a phenomenal performance, especially the priest narrator. Don't want to get in too much spoilers but it's entertaining to say the least. Overall, loved the unique experience of Savannah!

Both were VERY nice and the the trolly was completely in sync with the guide (reaching the destination at just the right time in the story. The Savannah Philharmonic calls the Lucas their home. SCAD has many events in the building. There is a small cafe at the front with popcorn, drinks, some small bites, and alcohol too. There is parking to be found on the street. Yes, you will need to pay for it. There are parking garages close too. The Lucas was recently restored a few years ago. It is beautiful. The theater itself is not huge. It is not meant for a gigantic audience. But it comfortably fits a very large crowd on two levels. I have sat on both levels. You see well from both. The Lucas is a building worth a visit.

Downstairs they have a play area and an area for kids' activities, and one big turtle, by itself in a tank -- if you have the patience to watch it move from one of its corners. Accessibility-wise there are some challenges. A long wooden ramp entrance that is not covered and very hot. An elevator to get downstairs, but the doors to the car park exit were closed. And a loft area with something (not sure what) only accessible by stars, too. The kids there at the time we were there were mainly enjoying the playground.

The little one had a great time and we felt very welcomed by the staff. However, this time we felt the experience was not as good and the main reason was because of the attitude & actions of some employees. First off, while we were checking in, the staff was not as friendly and helpful as they were on our previous visit. They had a bit of an attitude because we didn't make reservations before coming. We have a toddler- it's not always easy to preplan your whole day when you have a toddler. Reservations were not full so we were able to go right in. Later on, my granddaughter, who will be three in a month, wanted to play in the area marked for children two & under. At the time, there were no other children playing in that area, so we let her play. An employee walked by and asked how old she was. We told her and she rudely said that she had aged out and that she needed to leave that area. So we left the museum. We could understand if there were children younger than her playing there at the time, but there was no one else in there at all! And my granddaughter is a toddler, not a 6 or 8 year old child, for goodness sakes! It was silly. Use common sense and reasonable discretion when deciding when to enforce certain policies! But truly, the rude & condescending attitude of the employee is what made it so irritating. My daughter did reach out to the Executive Director to discuss the situation and received an apology, so we will give them another chance next time my daughter & granddaughter come to visit. The place is pretty small overall and I would not recommend for older kids as all of the exhibits/play spaces are limited and really geared for younger kids. I personally think $12 per person for admission is a bit much for what the place actually has to offer, but as long as my granddaughter is entertained, we are willing to pay it. She wil likely "age out of it" in a few years unless they add some new & more advanced exhibits/play areas.

Just walking into the lobby transported me to my GS days and I felt gratitude for this woman that provided an opportunity for girls that she probably had no idea would expand so far and wide. Our group was kind of small, about 9 of us. Two of which were GS (Daisy and Brownie) in their little vests. Our tour guide was really great and the pacing of the tour was perfect. The information presented was not overwhelming and I learned so much about Juliette Gordon Low. Finding out the beyond founding Girl Scouts, she was a very accomplished artist and a loved nature. I absolutely recommend any current AND former Girl Scouts (no matter how old) to visit the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Museum.

Because I came here a few days after visiting the Andrew Low house, the visit felt somewhat interconnected of sorts. We made it just in time for the guided tour, which was pretty helpful as it provided us with insights we wouldn't be able to get on our own. Our tour guide was awesome. We also ran into several troops on a tour too, which is of no surprise. Overall, a very pleasant tour that I'd repeat again.

My favorite part of the venue: the high bar seats behind the stage where I was able to feel super close to the band. I have not seen a venue like this before. My least favorite thing was the lack of outdoor signage on which line to get in. We winded up in the VIP/ Floor line and they were turning people away after they stood in the line for 30+ minutes as it moved up. Luckily, we were super nice as always, and they slapped some bands on our wrists and said to have fun! My FAV FAV part was how they have figured out rideshares! The staff asks the ride share who they are picking up and then call out your name. It felt like elementary school pick up all over again and worked so smoothly.

This was the first event we've ever been to at Enmarket Arena. It's about half the size of VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville which holds about 15,000 for concerts whereas Enmarket Arena holds about 7,500. Their minor league hockey team plays there as does their new women's basketball team like our Jacksonville Waves. The venue has been open for 4 years now and somehow, there are still some pain points with respect to customer service / interaction. There seem to be tiers of teams there and I can tell you this: every single person we interacted with that was wearing a blazer was rude to us for absolutely no reason. Even though we encountered more than a few folks who seemed almost mad to be working there I'd like to call out two AMAZING people that helped make our night awesome. These two folks were from other teams (not wearing blazers). First, I'd like to thank Sheila for being a warm, kind hearted person who was just a joy to interact with from the moment we got to the arena until we left. We roamed a lot, so we ran into her more than a few times. Every time we did, she was smiling, helping someone with something and being upbeat. I'd also like to say thank you to Adrienne, our go-to person at the concession stand by section 102. Like Sheila, she was warm, kind and just a very nice person. She happens to know Detroit very well so we had a great conversation about traveling around Michigan as kids. The show itself had a surprising amount of production issues, which I've never seen at a Weird Al concert. Miscued backdrop videos and delayed audio triggers happened a few times through the show, which was just odd to see. Al is a pro though, so he pushed through them without missing a beat or complaining to the crowd about it. I've included photos of us with the workers I shouted out along with a photo of Lauren talking to Weird Al after the show. If you go to the original post in our Facebook group, you'll also see a few long video clips of the opening of the show because I always love how he starts the show from backstage. Another great experience from Weird Al is in the books. Now we have to wait for Tallahassee in September before we see him again. I was looking for something off my beaten path to do with my daughter who is an incredible artist - I discovered their offering of a workshop/class for two hours on a Friday night to paint chickadees. Painting and drawing has been a challenge for me but this place seemed approachable and friendly. Suzy greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Shawn was the teacher and I really got a lot out of the class. The instructions were very clear and the supplies were explained and plentiful. Participants who wanted additional guidance received it and everyone's creative needs for the project seemed to get met. This was a great experience - very affordable and non judge mental approach to painting. I had a lot of fun and learned how to change my approach to painting because of this workshop. My daughter who is a very courageous painter with a lot of experience enjoyed the class and was inspired. I didn't complete my painting - but that's ok! Everyone else in the class did - there's enough time to finish your work I'm just slow...took my painting with me with my leftover paints in a bag Suzy gave me to finish back home. Hope I can make it back there for another workshop or maybe even their daytime offerings. This place is worth checking out!
