I recently graduated and had an amazing experience although I know each individuals experience can be vastly different depending on your dedication to recovery and willingness to commit to a 12-step based program that only opened last August. I was in the women's unit and the staff and residents I spent my stay with have played a large role in my recovery. The women I met will be life-long friends and support for me and the staff are an invaluable component to the Foundry's recovery approach. Dr. Jim Schuler genuinely cares for his residents who are committed to developing a solid foundation for their recovery both in treatment and ongoing. They give you an abundance of resources and their client care coordinators will help you build an attainable aftercare plan with you during your stay that will ensure your ability to achieve sustainable sobriety leaving the facility. The program is not a 30-day program, rather it is one based on what your entire care team of therapists, psychiatrists and care coordinators find is most appropriate for your care. I stayed 52 days and didn't want to leave after how close I'd grown to the people there both in front of, and behind, the desk. Do be aware that there is a 7-day probationary period for phone calls, so be sure to make your loved ones aware of those parameters upon arrival so they're not left wondering what's happened to your communication. No cellphones, cigs or vapes allowed which was brutal for me, as a chronic, device-in-hand 24/7 vape user HOWEVER they provide you with nicotine lozenges and patches, which are an adjustment at first but I left no longer needing or wanting nicotine so that was pretty tight. The facility as a whole is like a 4 star hotel (1 star deduction due to no vaping haha) but I can genuinely recommend this rehabilitation center and its quality of care for its clients a 10/10 and have obtained a beautiful and happy future in recovery thanks to them. I really wanted this treatment center to work, and I want to be fair because there were some truly wonderful people here. The nursing staff was incredible, and the physicians were also compassionate and professional. Ashley, the RN manager, genuinely listened to me and even tried to help by calling my boyfriend's treatment facility when I couldn't. The woman who completed my second intake on 7/20 was also amazing. Those employees are the reason this isn't an easy review to write. Unfortunately, my overall experience left me feeling unheard and treated like just another number. The biggest issue happened while I was on the Snowmass detox unit. At 8:30 AM, I arranged a phone call with my boyfriend's therapist at the treatment facility where he was staying. She specifically asked me to call back at 4:30 p.m. sharp because she was staying late so we could finally speak. I hadn't talked to my boyfriend in about 10 days, and this call had taken a lot of coordination. I made sure everyone knew how important this call was. Then, around 3:00 p.m., I was told I was being transferred to the Vail unit immediately. I explained that if I moved before 4:30, I would lose the opportunity to make the call because the new unit had different phone hours. I simply asked if I could remain on the detox unit for another 90 min so I could make my scheduled five-minute call before transferring. The answer was simply, "No." There was no flexibility, no compromise, and no willingness to work with me, despite the fact that I had followed every rule they gave me. The phone call had been scheduled within the approved phone hours, yet suddenly the rules changed because I was being moved. The therapist who spoke with me repeatedly told me that wanting to make this call was "codependent" and "unhealthy." Maybe that's something I need to work on, but I was in detox trying to get sober. Recovery isn't perfect, and I was simply trying to keep a commitment I had made. I didn't want someone I love sitting by the phone wondering why I never called after we'd spent all day arranging it. To me, keeping my word mattered. This wasn't about refusing treatment. It wasn't about breaking rules. It was about asking for 90 minutes of flexibility so I could make a five-minute phone call that everyone had known about since 8:30 that morning. Instead, I felt dismissed. One staff member even told me not to "tell everybody" what was happening after I spoke with a wellness coordinator, even though I thought I was simply trying to get help. That interaction made me feel like I was becoming a problem instead of a patient. Eventually, I chose to leave. As soon as I did, I made the phone call on my own cell phone because I knew my boyfriend would be waiting. I was right. If I hadn't left, he would have been sitting by that phone wondering why I never called. I understand that treatment centers need structure. Structure is important. But when a patient follows the rules, schedules an important call during approved phone hours, and asks for a reasonable accommodation because staff changed the plan, I don't think compassion should disappear. After everything that happened, I couldn't shake the feeling that my needs came second to keeping beds moving and following policy without any room for compassion or common sense. My intake experience on 7/17 also left a poor first impression. I encountered inconsistent information, and overall felt dismissed rather than welcomed. Unfortunately, the way I was treated during the transfer and as I was leaving overshadowed the positive experiences. When you're in treatment, you're incredibly vulnerable. Your emotions are raw, and small moments can have a huge impact. What seemed like "just a phone call" to staff represented trust, commitment, and human connection to me.. So this is bittersweet because my experience is both positive and negative but very real. So I did detox and then stayed and graduated the 30+ day ( length of stay varies on each person and the case manager apparently) Its a decent enough establishment and most of the staff is genuine and caring ( there are a few with serious attitude issues and are very unprofessional as well) the food is pretty good and the chef is awesome. The place is clean and the atmosphere itself is not to bad. I dealt with some issues throughout my stay but the stay itself wasn't the issue. The issue was my discharge. I went into this program to get sober and change my life, however, mainly for the scholarship to get into sober living upon graduating. Let's just fast forward to the end. A week before I get out I met with my case manager and relayed what sober living I wanted to go to. ( it was not any of the ones they partner with, which I think was my problem) I tell my case manager where I wanted to go and she immediately grimaced and things changed from that day on. I picked a sober living I thought looked like my cup of tea and upon my completion and release I show up at this sober living (tribe) and found out they are no longer a "sober living" now had the Foundry really planned on sponsoring me or cared in the first place they would have known this and helped me course correct. I call them and they scrambled and luckily sent me to ASL sober living. They then apologized and ( on speaker phone in front of my wife and Father advocate with Adam's county promised me not only a 1 month scholarship, a second one for the mishap) Fast forward 2 weeks and ASL is already asking me for rent money. A pretty big amount! Confused I told them about the sponsorship from Foundry and after 5 days of calling the foundry ASL, (and the foundry) point blank told me they would not be sponsoring me!! Left high and dry. I've called foundry 11 times, left messages for my case manager, left messages for staff, my therapist pretty much anyone at this point and the foundry completely ignored all of my calls. ASL (not the foundry) sponsored me for 2 weeks during this time I continued to call and call and foundry still ignored me. Fast forward 2 weeks with no response from the foundry ASL puts me on rent restriction and punishes me for lack of payment! Not their fault, they didn't really try to help me either after the 2 weeks but because of the foundrys EXTREMELY misleading, false promises and down right lying to me I'm forced to leave the sober living! Now im homeless! I call yesterday to try to plead with the foundry to help me as they promised but now my phone number is flagged because the lady who answered point blank says "Michael, last time you called it was about sober living funding which was denied!!! Is that why your calling?) ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?!?) so I made a phone call last night and spoke with a sober living who actually cares, within the 15 minute phone call gets me a 30 day scholarship and says I can move in monday!! Just like that. All I needed was some help! The foundry used me! Got my medicade $ and got paid for my stay there and lied to me by saying I wouldn't get a scholarship unless I completed and even after I stayed and COMPLETED 35 days, they then cut all contact with me left me out to dry and didn't hold up their end of the bargain. Insane! They are a bunch of liars, manipulators and do not care about you. Well, they sure didn't care about me. I would be very careful going to this establishment! They used me. They got their money for my stay and then upon completion didn't lift a finger to help me transition, even worse they cut me off and ignored me all together. They used me! Be careful!! Do your research and do not let them take advantage of you as well. This place can go to hell. read more

This place claims to care about people like family...which I find hard to believe since 60 dementia residents were evicted to make room for this "more lucrative" treatment center. I'd steer clear just to be safe. read more
