Came here for a group meeting today. The room was clean,…read moreeasy to find, and spacious. Parking in the large lot was free. The library itself was unexpectedly found in a business plaza. It can easily be missed. It was a good visit, and I will return. I saw dvds as well as printed media, and staff was visible throughout. The meeting room was clean and spacious. With the doors shut, it was quiet and private. There are homeless people outside and inside, but they didn't seem to bother anyone. Although one did randomly enter the conference room and start washing up using the sink in the room.

Sometimes I just need to print something really quick and they have 4 computers that you can use for 15 just for that reason. You do not have to reserve the computer, if it is not being used then you can use it. I really enjoy this Library. If you want to get away from the craziness of the bigger libraries then this is the one to go to!

First, this is one of three Carnegie libraries here in the Springs. Carnegie was a philanthropist and one of the things he built were libraries. His foundation would allow cities to apply for grants and agree to certain requirements and made sure they would remain public. Supposedly, he was inspired by the reading rooms that women were organizing throughout the country. The collection of books are only on the main floor of the building, but this library (like with most libraries in the Springs) is part of the Pikes Peak Library District so you can order, borrow, and drop off books at any of the locations within the system. This library will celebrate 120 years this Saturday on Dec 7, 2024. They will be offering a swap out of your library card with a limited edition card if you drop in on Saturday. Never stop exploring!

It's right across from the park so I'm usually running multiple errands at once and only have to park in one spot. They do have their own parking lot as well which is super convenient especially if you're just doing a quick book drop off. I just saw that they are expanding their hours as well, and they are open till 7 PM most evenings to make it more accessible for those that work until 5 PM.

This has been the smallest library I've been to in the Colorado Springs area so far - I'm not sure…read moreif it's actually smaller than the Monument location, but the amount of materials available must be smaller at this location. There's a community room that's pretty sizeable, which likely takes up a lot of the area that books would be stored, but it was actively being used as I was here today. Also, this location has been the least populated of all the locations I've been to (which I tend to visit at the same day/time, so it feels like a fair comparison), although the adult side had the most people reading and using computers, with nobody at all in the kids or teens areas while I was here. This location still has a decent sized kids play area (though there aren't a lot of play items, but they're all great quality and in good condition), and the different areas are better separated than Monument as well, so it didn't feel like my kiddo was being too loud while we were playing. I have yet to experience anybody working at a location treating us in a less Tham welcoming way as well - and that was no exception with us today!

Great community resource. This branch has very convenient and extended hours, a significant…read morecomputer bank, outlets and tables, a good book selection. PPLD has a strong system of reserving holds, you can go online with your card and select books and other resources from any branch and they will courier them to the branch you choose and set them aside for you to pick up. We have five big readers in the family and we home school, so this last service is invaluable. We can research which books the family can use or might be interested in, look them up in the online catalogue, and pick them up when they are ready. This has turbocharged the kids' reading because there are no gaps in reading, there are always books ready for them when we stop in town. Of course, they usually browse the shelves in addition. Also great for video resources. Last great use, there are a ton of school resources that look interesting but are too expensive to sample over and over. PPLD's reserve holds option lets me check out these resources, review them, and either decide they don't fit us or go ahead and buy the books for the school year. This doesn't just save us money, it saves us wasting time on curricula that aren't a good fit. Can't praise the place enough! Much of this applies to the other branch we use, also, so I'll be pasting this there.

It is a very clean city and beautiful city. I took a day trip up here from Denver. The highest mountain in Colorado, Pike's Peak, is located just outside the city and is a must see. It is amazing, if the weather allows you to go all the way up to the top. Now there is a little town called Manitou Springs that is also right outside of Colorado Springs. That has some very nice shops and restaurants to stop and visit on your way to Pikes Peak. It also has flowing springs located along the sidewalk that you can taste the water. Now, I will admit that the water is an acquired taste and had too much of a calcium taste for me, but hey, at least I gave it a shot. Other attractions in or very near the city include the National Museum of WWII Aviation and Helen Hunt Falls. I have been here a few times and have always been amazed by the cities beauty and it Red Rock formations. This should be on the top of your list to visit in Colorado.

Corrupt new LAW for new dishwashers' installation! I bought a new dishwasher and when the…read moreinstallers came to house, they refused to install it because I need a separate shut off valve. Most of the houses in Colorado Springs have a shut off valve that turns off the water to the dishwasher and your kitchen sink. They now want a shut valve for your sink and another one for your dishwasher. This requires a plumber shut off the water to your house and install the extra valve. WHY! Who got paid off to pass this law so plumbers can make more money?

We only found four of them - Shoshone, Navajo, Cheyenne and Stratton. It's a bit magical to find spring water pouring out of the earth for you to drink, but not so much as this fountain. I'm still rating it a good 4-stars. It's probably open when it's not freezing, is my guess. Close to this spring is the Navajo (in a restaurant area) and Cheyenne (off the main strip), and those were working.

It is labeled healing water, even though I cannot verify that. The water contains some sulphur, which was highly recommended by physicians for its curative uses, before modern medicines. You can bring your own container and get some water straight from the spring. It is easy to get to and get your water. However, be warned, the water is not your usual water. It looks great, but is an acquired taste. It has a carbonated calcium taste. I could only stand a few sips of it and I tapped out. According to the Mineral Springs Foundation, the water has some of the highest amounts of mineral content, and it's some of the warmest, with a temperature just over 70 degrees. This place is definitely worth a quick stop to check off the box, but meter your expectations
