She quickly pulled up with her lights flashing and helped block and divert traffic until our van was safely towed away. She even kindly gave me a ride back to my place of work (because my work van broke down) and had fun, professional conversation while en route, which was about 4 miles away. This fire department is AMAZING! Two times I have had to call them in an emergency…read more.. A few years ago my now late Great-Grandmother fell in the middle of the night. In her fall, she hit her head, so we called 911 to get help to make sure she was OK. Even though I live within a mile of the Fire Station, I was really impressed with their response time. It only took them about 10 or so minutes to get here. When they arrived, they were extremely nice and professional, and immediately "went to work". The whole crew assessed the situation and advised us to take her to the hospital. My family was new to the area, so we didn't know about the area hospitals. We asked which hospital was the best in the area, and they told us about the different area hospitals and they were extremely knowledgeable about the different ones... The second occasion, it was fairly late into the night, and one of my family members was showing signs and symptoms of having a heart attack. Although it was so late, they arrived extremely fast. When they got here, they helped said family member, and the paramedic explained what he thought might be happening, and advised us what we should do. They were incredibly helpful and professional, and took their time to make sure that everything was done correctly. They were super nice and told us that it was their priority to make sure my family member was OK... They told us that even if we had to call them again, even if they were sleeping, that they would come out ASAP to make sure he was OK... THANK YOU SO MUCH to ALL of the Wescott Firemen/women, EMS, and Paramedic(s)!
