They are always friendly, helpful & accommodating, and have become my go-to place to recycle our collection once a month. I've tried LOTS of recycling centers over the years with my always jumbled mish-mash of bottles, plastic, and aluminum soda and beer cans, and If you want honesty & efficiency, and to be treated with respect, I haven't come across a better recycler than here.

I needed leaf mulch for my gardens last year and called L E's Mattapan location to find some. They…read moredidn't answer and their voice mailbox was full-- not encouraging. So I went in person. The place was disorganized and the staff was unprofessional. I waited for quite a while as various people had loud discussions about whose fault a missed delivery had been. I finally left, having gotten an idea of what my experience would be. this year, I found that L E had an outlet in Woburn. The website was not active, so I called and left a message for their mulch department. Nobody called me back, so the next day I took a chance and drove up to Woburn to inquire in person. They did have leaf mulch and I ordered my load and paid for delivery, which was to be out of the Mattapan site. I was given May 17 between 7 and 8 a.m. as the delivery time. On the 17th we waited for the delivery. And waited. finally, at around 1:45 I called Woburn again to see what was up. "Truck trouble," I was told after the Woburn office called the Mattapan office. I was promised the mulch by 3:30. You can probably guess that it wasn't delivered. I stayed home all day waiting, changing my other plans as the hours passed. This morning (May 18th), I called Woburn again to tell them that I hadn't received the mulch. Paul from the Woburn office called the Mattapan number again to inquire. When he came back on the line, he told me he'd ensured that the delivery would be today, even if he had to have it driven down to Dorchester from Woburn. Now I'm sitting on my hands again, waiting for mulch and hoping it gets here before I have to work this afternoon. SiteOne, the corporation that holds Landscape Express needs to TRAIN its staff in professional and responsive customer service. There's no magic to being polite and even a simple checklist of follow-up actions can help ensure that jobs don't fall through the cracks. I appreciate Paul's efforts on my behalf, but they shouldn't have been necessary. Not Rocket Science. Get it together Mattapan!

Their helper…read moreillegal immigrants out in the yard encourage you to place and weigh your metals in "their own bins or roll carts" that way gives them leverage, control and thus manipulate by applying a "false tear weight to their own bins, carts" so you get cheated out of true and accurate weight. Don't trust them. They're a scam business. Highly recommend weigh your stuff at home prior to coming to them and weigh in "your own bins" not theirs. Otherwise you're at high risk of falling into their scam. Avoid them.

We live about 30 minutes away, so it's a little bit of a hassle getting there... There is generally a line of trucks out front, but it moves quickly. Once there, if your materials are sorted, it will make it easier for everyone involved and for them to pay you cash. We went this morning and my husband was hoping for around $75 for our truck full of metal. We were pleasantly surprised when the grand total came to just under $240. Obviously if you clean and separate your copper pipes, you're going to get more than if they are lumped together with other materials. They even took a whole bin full of random cables and cords that I probably would've thrown in the trash had my husband not set them aside. We will continue to use this business for years to come.

So over the years, I accumulated some heavy metal junk and I definitely did not want to just put it…read morein my residential trash so I decided to take it off to a local scrapyard. Scrap it was the closest yard to me and it looked like it had a pretty good review so I decided to load my car and drive over to see how much I can get. The entrance to the scrap yard is on a street with actually other scrap yards. The entrance is highly visible and all you have to do is actually drive in and they have someone to help direct you to the right location to stop. They can pretty much tell if you need help so they walked right up to my window asked a few questions and had me popped the trunk so that they can take a magnet and start checking out my metal scrap. He identified which pile goes where and told me where to park the car but he first had me drive over the weight scale, to take the initial weight. He then basically told me to park in front of one pile unload, came back to weigh in again and then went to the second pile unload and came back to weigh in again. He printed me a receipt to bring to the pay office. I also had a big box of miscellaneous scrap metal, which he said I can just put inside a bin and cart it into the facility for a manual inspection. Overall, it was actually a pretty easy process. The workers they were actually very professional courteous and they were not condescending at all like they knew I was not familiar with the process and just guided me the whole way. Definitely will come back again when I accumulate another pile of metal junk.

All the Junk Companies I called gave me this outrageous price and said they couldn't come by for at least a week. Jack came out that afternoon and took it away for an extremely fair price! He was actually driving by my street and said I can come by right now! We talked mini bikes and he even got my mini bike started that was sititng as no one could fix it! Jack has since done at least three different jobs for me including plowing my driveway, cutting down trees and taking away tons of stuff! You are the best!
