This review is actually for The Traditionalist, the distillery and restaurant in the back of Four Daughters. This was our first visit and we were so excited to come here for a full menu dinner and craft cocktails. We sat outside to enjoy the vineyard view. The food was so delicious. We started with a charcuterie, then the cheeseburger and ribeye special. We've tried different charcuterie boards over several visits here, and I love that they seem to change with the seasons. Hubby was delighted to see a ribeye on special and said it was cooked to perfection. My burger was juicy and the fries were crispy. Service at the bar was friendly as well. Can't wait to return.

This place was great, and worth a drive. It is a wine bar with a fairly broad menu of food items. You order everything at the bar, and they bring the food to your table. We really enjoyed the various wine flights, which allows you to sample the various wines that are made on site. They have a great selection of appetizers and entrées. The pistachio pizza was excellent, the burger was delicious, as were the nachos. It was fun to walk around the vineyard afterwards.

Went here on a beautiful day in May to enjoy some good wine. When I arrived I was shocked they didn't have ANY furniture on their patio! There were only a few scattered uncomfortable picnic tables to choose from. Why on earth would they not have any seating outside? They had the doors open but that just made it warm inside. The lack of outdoor furniture greatly detracted from what could have been a delightful experience. Instead of being able to savor the wine while basking in the sunshine and enjoying the scenery, patrons were left with limited and uncomfortable seating options that did not complement the overall ambiance of the venue. Fantastic in every possible way! Thanks to my twin cities friends for this recommendation. The venue is just pristine and absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Nestled in the quiet countryside about a 20 minute drive from Rochester, this is a must stop for anyone traveling through the area. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch plate and a flight of reds along with some loon juice. The food here was creative and beautifully executed. Their wines were a perfect match. I was very impressed with most of the wines I sampled and stocked up with a half dozen bottles to take with me. We didn't taste any of the bourbons during our visit but did pick up a bottle to try later. The service and attentiveness here was on par with their excellent food and wines. We were warmly welcomed and wonderfully tended to during our Sunday morning visit. Please check them out. It is well worth your time and treat for your taste buds.

Great service, big portions on the food we ordered and definitely enjoyed the bourbon. I personally am not a wine drinker and was glad there was other beverages to choose from. Everyone in our group that tried the wine enjoyed it as well. It was great that they had different flights so we could try many different kinds before choosing a glass. One thing we didn't like about this place is you did have to go up to the bars to order drinks, food or anything at all. They would bring food to your table but everything else you needed to go up to order. There was no wait staff to take orders or even come table to table. You did have to get your own water, plates, silverware, napkins, etc. It did take away from the whole experience and if we had any questions you had to go up and ask everytime.

Spur of the moment stop. And a pleasant surprise. Very open and beautiful spot. Option to sit on the patio with your wine flight while sitting next to the vineyard. We chose the white wine flight all were very good. Also fun thing to note is every Wednesday they do movie nights. Free movie in the fields

A beautiful Sunday spent at a beautiful winery. Our group of 12 had a wonderful experience sharing time together and enjoying great food. Portions were generous and shared between friends. The pizzas were unusual, the Cranberry Walnut Apple salad yummy. But the best was my non alcoholic specialty drink the BlackBerry Smash. (I was the designated driver). It was the most delicious drink I've ever had. Give it a try and enjoy! Friends enjoyed their wine flights too. The staff was attentive but not overly bothersome- just a great experience. We will be back.

Fun and beautiful atmosphere, good food and friendly service. I like the option to get a cocktail in the room next door in case you aren't in the mood for wine or loon juice. The white wine is okay, not super comparable to wine from California/PNW because of the seasons here. Definitely will revisit!

Covid update. No reservations. Seat yourself. Limited food menu. Order from the bar. You can open a tab for your table number, or you can pay per transaction. We were able to get a table for our party of 10 very easily p.m. on a Saturday night. There were a lot of people, so the lines to order did take some time. They were clearly understaffed. I don't fault them for that, as they were definitely trying and doing the best they could. Thankfully everyone was being polite to the staff, even though the booze was flowing (it is a winery after all). I had the burrata salad, which was good, but only filled me up temporarily as there was no protein. I did have to eat later. Drink of choice was The loon juice flight. I think my favorite is the extra juicy, in true Minnesota fashion, but they were all good for different reasons. Still a fun place to stop by for a nice glass of wine or loon juice.

My husband and I enjoyed a stop at Four Daughters while staying in Chatfield and touring Southeastern MN. We had no idea Loon Juice was made here until visiting, and I'm a big cider fan! Their menu is small (pizzas, charcuterie, a salad, one or two other apps and one dessert) but the Charcuterie we tried was a good value and wonderful variety to pair with differing wines! We did one white flight, one red flight (6 x 1-oz pours each for $10/flight) and the $20 Charcuterie plate at lunch time and we're stuffed. I liked being able to get cheeses, meats, and other items all on on Charcuterie and getting big enough portions I could share. The honey and the figs were awesome, as were the salty almonds and marinated olives. The format of ordering at the bar can get a tad chaotic when they're busy (we went on a Saturday) but I get the difficulty with staffing right now. We'd highly recommend this and only wish is wasn't raining so we could also enjoy the outdoor patio and gorgeous grounds!

Our party of 4 each tried a different flight of wines/loon juice and enjoyed the flavors! We ordered 4D nachos, Italian sausage rosemary & pistachio pizza, giant pretzel. Always good food. Great atmosphere and ambiance indoors & outdoors just south of Rochester.

Four Daughters is easily one of my favorite places. I always have great service and it has the best atmosphere. I especially have always liked their food. The 3D Nachos are hands down my favorite. The sloppy Joe and mustard aioli is to die for. It's truly their signature dish. This summer my friends stopped in for a afternoon and had this pizza. It was so good and I have certainly never had pistachios on pizza. The patio is beautiful right by the vines in the sun. Check it out if you're in the area you won't regret it.

I had tried Loon Juice at a local Beer fest and really enjoyed it compared to others Ciders on the market which are too tart.

We were warmly greeted by staff when we got here, got the camper set up and came in for some food and a tasting. They have a nice menu of appetizers, salads, flatbreads and sandwiches. We got the 3 dip combo which was salsa, buffalo chicken and a southwestern bean dip. They were all really good. We both had a wine tasting of 4 wines and ended up getting a bottle of the Lazy Days Itasca. It was a crisp white wine that was refreshing while sitting outside on the patio. So, for the wine "purists" out there, remember, these are not necessarily like nice, earthy pinots, merlots or cabernets that you pour in a big glass and enjoy with dinner. More like light, sweeter pino grigios or rieslings. We drink them mostly like sweet dessert wines (think port) in small glasses after a meal or late in the evening. If you come at them from this perspective, you won't be disappointed as you might be if you went here looking for a conventional table wine. Great location, nice facilities, enjoyable wines and pretty good food. I had the Norwegian sandwich - VERY good. It's out past the Seed Savers, so if you are looking for something to do after visiting them - this may be just the ticket. Highly recommended.

The little barn houses, the field, everything was inviting and elegant, yet rustic and homey. The outdoor ceremony area was also great, with benches set up, a beautiful gate for the married couple to walk in through, etc. The staff were super atttentive and friendly. My only gripe was that they did not seem well equipped to handle super cold weather (there were some blankets) but the ceremony was super chilly and I wish the heat was turned on more in the dining area.

I had arrived early to get ready at the bridal suite which was in one of the little buildings. It had the restrooms inside on the first floor & the bridal suite on the second. There were only three of us bridesmaids, but even with others stopping in to see the bride, there was plenty of room to get ready. The best part was that there was a lot of natural lighting & lots of mirrors for us to use. I didn't see the grooms suite but there was a separate building for that as well! The wedding ceremony area had luscious grass with seating benches for the guests & big wooden doors for a grand entrance. It was nice for the wedding party to be able walk down & then have a pause (with doors closed) as the bride stepped up for her entrance. The reception was then held inside the big barn building just off to the side from the ceremony. The space was large with wooden tables & chairs set up for guests. Although we didn't use it, there was a firepit next to the building for use as well! Drinks & appetizers were served before the reception started at the side barn building. It was just a few feet away from the main reception. My favorite though, was the barn space that was first seen when entering the venue from the parking lot. Our friends had opted to utilize it for photos to put inside the guest book! Overall, a cute venue. Since I was a guest, I don't know any of the logistics of touring / reserving the space but my friend (the bride) did say that they're booked up pretty much every weekend!
