Went here a few times during my week's long vacation visiting family nearby. I was told Cabin…read moreCoffees were popping up everywhere around good 'ol Minnesota. It was conveniently located a couple minutes away from where I was staying. Lots of drinks and some food to choose from. I am always up for trying different coffee places when I am on travel. Here they have "white coffee" which she said was a lighter version. I went with a large white coffee with oat milk and sugar free shots of syrup. Tried the chocolate + Vanilla the first trip, turned out to be really tasty. Not too strong of a coffee flavor which was okay with me, but it tasted like marshmellow. I was pretty pleased. The next morning I said to sub in 1 pump of sugar free rasberry, and it was really good too. Kinda like a rasberry crumble. I got that the next day too. The only issue I have here was the prices were different on all 3 visits even though I got the same sized drink (large) and same drink (white coffee mocha with oat milk). I just varied the types of syrups. First day it was around $6.80ish. 2nd visit it was about $7.50ish. But the last day it was $9.25..?!? I was like - what's going on? She said I may have charged you for a medium on previous days - - but there were still $1 differences btwn Day 1 and Day 2. And $9.29 for a large coffee mocha is too high. I live in Austin, TX - where food here is notoriously more expensive that it should be, and I have never paid $9+ for a large mocha drink. I think that's like NYC or Los Angeles pricing. I wasn't too happy about that so I opted not to go back on my last few days. I did not want to pay $9+ for a large coffee drink. But overall the experience was worthy of 4-stars here (well, 3.5 and I'll round up to 4). The service here was very nice on all my visits, very friendly too. The coffee tasted good and they were flexible to switch out the syrups, plus they had 4 sugar free options there. But we gotta get the pricing thing down, it shouldn't be different on all 3 visits and a large shouldn't be $9.29ish.

Terrible service!!! A bunch of young, cranky girls working…read more No one smiled and seemed cranky towards each other even. One came up to our table and said, " we close at 2 so..." 5 mins after we sat down to eat. No said thanks or goodbye. They were locking doors and cleaning while we packed up. Will never stop again.

A friend highly recommended Forager Cafe, which is why I went there with high expectations. Hmmmm,…read morehow can I say this....I was disappointed. I ordered their black and tan beer. A tasty choice (check out the photo). Then I asked for a reuben sandwich with a side of fries. I really liked the two-tone rye bread. There was modest amount of corned beef. Notice I didn't say 'generous.' The kraut, Swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing were a solid compliment. BUT the fries.... Check out the photo and look at the fries. These were double dunked in oil, greasy and sogged out, slightly charred, and meh tasting. I looked over at another patron's plate of food and saw her fries looked perfect. Golden, single dunk in oil, and crisp. Can I add a sad face emoji here? I called over the bartender and had him look at my fries, then look at the other patron's, and tell me the difference. He saw what I saw. I told him what was wrong with mine and asked why. He apologized and said he'd take 50% off my food bill. I saw him go back to the kitchen and have a conversation about my fries, which I appreciated. He didn't blow me off and let the kitchen know they dropped the ball. I've eaten at a lot of places from dives to fine dining, and I think the sign of good eatery is one that can excel at the basics.....like french fries. Plus, when you have your "A" staff working in the kitchen, but your staff sends out subpar fries to a customer...what does that say about the kitchen staff and leadership? Will I go back? Not sure, but there other places I've eaten at in Rochester that are consistently good. If I ever have family or friends in town and we go out to eat, we're not going to Forager Cafe.

We met some friends here for supper on Friday evening and were seated right away. Our server was…read morefriendly, attentive, made some good suggestions. The food was good, fresh and tasty. My only complaint was the size of the side salad that I ordered with my burger. It was by far the smallest side salad that I have received at any food establishment. In fact, I honestly thought it was a joke. Overall, the service was amazing the food was good. There was live entertainment there that evening and the performance was good, however when the volume is such that you cannot have a conversation with the people at your table, it's a bit too loud. I must be turning into my parents.
