Pretty neat store - recommended by a local friend who's a longtime customer. Their selection was remarkable and their pricing was so much better than what I see in my area. I knew what I was after and a couple of employees popped over and took care of me right away, but made sure that I left feeling like I was a friend who needed to come back and look around more. NOT the old school "grumpy gus" gun store - nice, clean, professional, well-stocked and well-priced. Probably a good thing I don't live nearby, because I'd be here a LOT. I've been here a few times as a secret shopper, and have always had a good experience. The employees are able to answer my questions on various manufacturers. Now that I own a firearm, I get to spend more time here and ask newbie questions (I was in the Marines, but my firearm experience was only in qualifying with the M16A1 and carrying the M1911A1). If you are in the market for "silencer" do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Fourguns's staff is extremely lacking in knowledge of this area for the ATF paperwork. My initial visit was to put the item in layaway, and I was led to the kiosk by an employee that walked me through and said "all of your paperwork is done your go to go" that was employee #1, when I paid the item off in early december, I ask employe #2 just want to check, do I have everything complete? Without hesitation the answer was yes, but he said, let me have this other person double check. So employee ( actually the owner) #3 looks at my stuff and says, yep, you're good to go. We just need to push it on the first to get ATF approval. Today I receive an email from silence shop, who is the kiosk provider that I filled out on day one. Saying to contact my dealer i'm ready to submit my eform. I do that and find out guess what? No, I don't have all the paperwork filled out. Four Guns I actually created a to do checklist. Today is the first time that I have seen this, I guess thankfully this was employee #5 that actually knew what needed to be done. By talking to another customer, he has had similar lack of correct information from as well. read more

I bought a shotgun online from Bud's Gun Shop(a large online retailer) and had it delivered to Four Guns as an FFL transfer. It showed online that Four Guns charged 20.00 for an FFL transfer. I thought that was fair. Fast forward to picking up the shotgun 5 days later and the employee stated the FFL transfer fee was 50.00! They had my shotgun and would not budge on the price even though they could easily go online and see what they had quoted Bud's Gun Shop for an FFL transfer. The response was "oh, I will call them and update the price". To add misery to the situation, they didn't even bother to call me when the shotgun came in. Not going back, ever. read more

To go onto my husband's comment.We've been verified multiple times at other places. No other places have I ever had issues like this place. They stated they wanted to protect themselves from me purchasing the item for my husband. Then proceeded to force him to purchase it for me. Which contradicts its self they should have stopped the sale completely. But no they wanted to continue the sale against the law that they supposedly wanted to save themselves from. Tell me how that makes any sense? It's discrimination. I was the only female who was present trying to purchase. WOW. Never have I felt so belittled but found a better place and deal somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend this gun shop to anyone rude staff long story short I brought my wife in there to purchase a firearm she wanted well I got dirty looks from one gentleman that works there and they ask me if I wanted ammo for the gun I replied with no we have some at home already he said well who is purchasing the gun I said her and he said sir I think you wanted the gun then says I need to purchase it not her which made no sense obviously they suspected straw purchase but yet want me to buy the gun not her all because we looked at guns together this place obviously discriminates against women my wife told him serveral times she wanted the gun not me but i took my business elsewhere I do not recommend this place to anyone read more

Best gun shop in the area. Firearm prices and selection are reasonable for these times although ammo can be found cheaper if bought online. Generally, the employees are helpful and patient however, all gun shop employees appreciate if the customer has at least the basics of fire arm safety and knowledge that can be found online very easily. It is ok to still have questions but do at least a little research into the 4 basic firearm safety rules to make sure the customer and the employee can feel safe. read more

I had given this place a two star review back in 2019 based on their limited selection and somewhat unfriendly staff. But it's 2021, and wow have they turned this place around! I'm delighted to update my review to five stars! The selection is fantastic, both of firearms and accessories. Pricing is fair - they've got to make money as a brick-and-mortar store, so it's more expensive than an online store, but not by too much. And their staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Most everybody at this shop are friendly and knowledgeable. There are a couple of older gentlemen that genuinely are there to educate and help. Gun selection is great, however they could use a few more accessories. In my opinion you may pay a tiny bit more here, however the knowledge, expertise and the amount of time this crew spent helping me was well worth it. I'm in Lafayette on business, (April2023) and decided to stop in. Was greeted cordially at the door, and spent 30+ minutes talking with various staff members (there were at least 8 people working). Everyone took extra time to talk, answer questions, show me various firearms and accessories. Even though I was there at closing, they made no effort to shew me out prematurely. A very pleasant experience. I'd read some of the one star reviews before arriving. They completely exonerated themselves. Great place, and I highly recommend. read more

I have never been met with anything other than courtesy. It is a business. At times, they will not meet the expectations one may have. I have purchased, traded and use this store as my go to FFL. The store is expanding during challenging times and I think this goes to show they are successful at what they do. My recommendation would be to use the internet to do your background search on a weapon you are interested in, type of ammunition, etc. People are of various opinions regarding everything. If you don't come in with your shirt tucked into your jeans with a buzz cut and some boots you might as well turn around. Staff don't take you seriously unless you look like one of them. I'm a younger guy new to firearms & came in to four guns a couple times with simple questions, and wanting to make some purchases. Consistently I am met with a brick wall of weird looks , condescending questions, and attitude when I might ask a question looking for directions on something as simple as cleaning supplies for a firearm, I don't know if it's because I am the only person wearing a mask in store, or if it's because I am the only person in the store under the age of 45. Also they all seem to be playing some under the table game with ammunition as I asked 3 different guys pricing on ammo and I got 3 different prices from the "back room" selection. What a joke, if you want integrity in a business place drive 7 minutes up the road to applied ballistics, the staff is nice, considerate, and ready to answer questions. Also the clientele & staff are way more diverse witch makes someone like me more comfortable because I feel like it's not a old boys club. read more

I made a online purchased from Four Guns on Gun Broker .com ad listed a Smith and Wesson shield plus 13248 with tritium night sights, what I received was a three dot white sights. Contacted them by phone and was told someone made a mistake with the listing and that I got a good deal on this item. Was told I could get a refund or keep the weapon a week later there was no credit issued or a return label sent to my FFL. Four Guns is still running the same ad that shows Tritium night sighs with 10 available this is a false and they can not delivery this item as described. This mistake is not a one time deal this ad has been listed on gun broker.com under different listing since I contacted them on 12/20/21. The current ad is #920367531 I suggest you do your homework before buying from this company. A reputable company would correct there so called mistake if it was a mistake. They know what they are doing and could careless about there customers. Because without customer they would not be in business any longer. Again please please do your homework before you make the same mistake as I did and buy from them. read more

I made two stops in this place, once shopping for a pistol and looking for information, as I'm new to the sport and was looking for a semi-auto pistol for personal protection with the uptick of all the crime here now. In that experience, I was helped by an older fellow that sort of reminded me of Ian McKellen from the Xmen and Lord of the Rings movies. I told him what I was seeking and that I was a novice and looking for recommendations. His reply..."So you're not a shooter?". No, I am not. Greeted with a sneer following that response and then he proceeded to show me a few pieces I asked about, and some others (revolvers) that I didn't want for what I was after. I shopped a couple other places and ultimately purchased a new pistol at Ramz Emporium a couple of days after. I made a return the following week seeking a cleaning kit and an in the waistband holster for my Bersa pistol. I brought it in with me, unloaded, for fit sizing. I spoke this time with a stocky gentleman with glasses and suspenders, telling him as well that I was new to this and wasn't sure what all I needed. He rolled his eyes and sighed and then led me out to the cleaning supplies. After a bit of mumbling, he got what I needed for cleaning and then off to the holsters. Handed him my pistol, and after he checked to make sure the chamber was clear, recommended a certain holster and handed my gun back, asking me to stick it in the holster to see what I thought. Put it in, and it wouldn't come back out. I couldn't get it out, nor could he. He shook his head and said sarcastically "that's a real nice f**king gun you've brought us here", and walked off shaking his head and muttering to himself to get help to get my gun out of the holster he recommended. He and another guy got it out, and then he proceeded to ask if I wanted the holster... are you kidding me? Give me a crappy attitude both times when I've been polite and professional, and then on top of it, be rude and act like you're doing me a favor trying to sell me something that obviously didn't work too great? I'll HAPPILY take my business elsewhere and spread the word about the jerks working here. Customer service makes or breaks a business... and this place has a lot to learn about even basic civility. read more

I bought my first handgun from there. The gentleman selling me my piece took the time to explain how to dissemble the glock and put it back together after cleaning. I felt confident with the inner workings of my gun afterwards. I later went back to purchase ammo and the gentleman kept trying to sell me another firearm which wasn't what I went in for. Then they limited me on how much ammo I could buy. My last visit they were fully stocked with my ammo and didn't pressure me to buy another piece. read more

The customer service In this establishment is a 0. These men are rude and distasteful. Especially to people of color. Very condescending and no real help at all. Still had to buy a gun here because I already paid for it! Wanted a refund before the gun was even in my hand. But that make sure they skim 25% for any and all unopened purchases even if it never left there possession or touched your hands expect them to take 25% of whatever you paid. God forbid you open a box or package which they did right in my face that'd take that 25% to 40% they'll keep. Prior to actually recieving my gun I never even touched it once. But they still felt they could take 25% of my total purchase price if I wanted a refund. Which I did! But I refused to just let them pocket a free 100$ while I leave with nothing. read more

I will first say that I have been to Four Guns a LOT. I like the two main guys there, they are awesome.....I don't know their names. Younger guy and a guy that's a little older than him. Anyway, my attitude changed when I enlisted the help of their gunsmith. What I needed was very simple. I needed a rifle drilled for a scope mount that I provided and an inspection of the bolt because I had a feeling that I was missing a couple pieces. When I turned over the rifle I was told that it should not be more than a month based on the availability of the bolt pieces I needed because it is an older rifle. Fine, I understand that. The scope mount could be drilled and mounted at any time. I ended up picking the rifle back up 3 MONTHS LATER with nothing being done to it at all. Twice I went back to get the rifle earlier after I found out that nothing was being done and twice I was told that the rifle was not there and to come back some other day. Once I arranged with the gunsmith to pick it up and when I got there he said he forgot it to grab it and to come back at the end of the week. It was very very frustrating. I understand if things take a while due to the bolt parts, but the scope mount could have been done at anytime! To top it all off....I JUST bought both parts I needed for the bolt on Numrich Gun Parts site and both were readily available to be delivered in 5-7 days! Now, since all of that drama I really can't bring myself to continue patronizing that place because it is like I trusted a friend to do something and they really dropped the ball. My advice is, if you want to buy a firearm or need an FFL they are fine. But think twice about the gunsmith services. Maybe my experience was somehow unusual...I don't know. But it sure ruined it for me. read more
