    Black mold

Really bad. this is not healthy for any one staying or working here. Hispanic girl tried giving me room right by black mold. Evil . Very funny.?? I was wondering why no cars were on that side of building. Disgusting. They make breakfast on that side. Mold spores everywhere. This is years old. How can they even work in this death trap?

Bug Bite in this hotel. And we don't get any help from Front desk.

The internet was so slow it was ~nonexistent, which is fundamentally not acceptable for a hotel in 2024.

Always helped when asked and answered all questions. was able to loan an induction hot plate so I could make one-pan meals. Pan included was very small so more for eggs than full meals for two. Rooms showed some wear but no major defects. Water pressure was okay but not strong. Tv dark balance was off and remote did not allow for adjustment. TVs were 4k sets and fairly large though. Beds were a bit firm but clean. Was a rough night rest the first night but a 30 dollar mattress topper really helped. Just think of it as an unseen add-on for the stay. Not hard, but needed some cushion. Internet speed was reasonable and only disconnected once or twice a day. Worked well enough for the occasional team meeting or call. Pool was heated but not hot. Still a little chilly but if you swam a little it was easy to shake the chill. Gym was small but functional. Some dumbbells one cable machine and 5 cardio machines. Breakfast was very basic. Egg circles, breakfast breads, a couple protein options and a waffle station. Not great but good enough to get you going. It's not a bad hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It's functional and works for the average traveler. There's some maintaining that could be done, and some accommodations could be better, but if you're in the state for work it will do.

And ... yes, we found bed bugs, and they feasted on me by biting me on my forearms, upper arms, hands, behind my year, lower legs, see pics! At first, we thought these could just be regular insect bites, it is muggy outside with and the mosquitos in the Midwest can be bad in July. However, it didn't take us long until we found the real culprits for my bite-riddled arms, head, hands and legs (see pics). We brought it to the attendant of the hotel manager, he didn't want to believe us, but when we showed him the culprits hiding under the mattress and in the bedding he folded. The manager told us to abandon the room, we took our (most likely) not infested essentials (toothbrush, toothpaste) and went to a temporary other hotel room while our original room was fumigated. PJ's and some other clothing went directly to garbage, no attempt to rescue. The superstore Woodman's next door was helpful - 24/7- to get what we needed during the time our property was exterminated, fumigated, disinfected. It is quite difficult to maintain a professional life and having to deal with a bed bug situation. In addition, the door keys frequently didn't work as they locked us out several times. Although we had 2 rooms and that might have generated some door card confusion (1 with bed bugs, 2nd room it seems without bed bugs). We decided to toss a lot of our clothing and the luggage as it was near the bed. Needless to say, we left the place once our belongings were fumigated, we didn't want to take any risk of taking our clothes and other stuff prior to fumigation to the car and to a real hotel. I would love to say that these were the only issues we encountered... However, that is not the case! Bathroom: in the 2nd (not infested) room we used for a few days the bathtub didn't drain, it took a long time for the water to flow out of the soaking tub. Phone: in the 2nd (not infested) room the phone didn't work, we used our cells to call the front desk. Kitchen area: I didn't dare to touch the electric stove top, and once I opened the microwave, I took a pic and never looked at it again. It is fair to say we didn't use the culinary kitchen space. Smoking! Smokers huddle up in front of the main entrance and turn the area at the entrance into a 2nd hand smoke inhalation spa. It is just disgusting to sniff the entrance from across the parking lot, you follow the smell and will find it, blind-folded! Now there is some good news, if you need the nicotine and don't wan to pay the tobacco tax, just stand outside the hotel entrance, it's free!! The hotel staff is ok, but, ... bed bugs!! And for a few dollars more we could have gone right away to a Hilton or Hyatt. It is absolutely horrible, and I was at risk of secondary infections. There is a chance that the bites get infected on top of the original bite wounds. Stand as of August 6th: the hotel didn't want to compensate us entirely. The initial payment is not reimbursed. The 2nd payment was credited back to us, but the dog fees are still outstanding. We are in contact with the claims person from the insurance to get compensated, but it will be long way to a check.

I appreciate the team for being supportive, hospitable, and organized during the wedding weekend. For example, I noticed the ketchup bottle was empty for the brunch on Sunday morning and after I asked one of the teammates, a lady quickly brought a new one for us. The potatoes were seasoned nicely. The two cons was that the room felt damp (our clothes, papers, books were all soggy and "wet" feeling so would suggest bringing in dehumidifiers for the summer) and that the pool was no longer in service! Some photos online (Google, Yelp) featured a pool so I brought my bathing suit in hopes to swim but alas, it was filled and expanded for the gym. Nothing wrong with that - I definitely utilized the gym amenities and loved the renovations. The hotel was clean and housekeeping did a stellar job with keeping the rooms presentable and cozy. I would also strongly suggest for the hotel to invest in plastic mattress protectors to help prevent bedbugs burrowing into the cloth of the mattress itself for the safety of guests and hotel staff. Overall had a great stay and would recommend for a simple weekend trip!

And a dishwasher if needed. There were a few complaints- my bed was super squeaky. Like anytime someone moved slightly it was creaking, definitely didn't get a good night's sleep. The walls are thin yes. We heard people walking above our room at night then again in the morning. The sofa and chair in the sitting area of our room was not the comfiest. We had to grab pillows and blankets from the beds to make it more comfortable for lounging on. The pool in the hotel was very warm and amazing to swim in. Compared to the last few hotels where it's freezing in the pool area and then to get into cold water, this was nice!! It was also very bright from the 3 surrounding walls of windows. Looked like a nice courtyard outside for when the weather was nicer out too.
