This hotel doesn't even deserve one star. The property is part of the Marriott Bonvoy family. Marriott really needs to reevaluate their relationship. At check in I attempted to use a $25 e- gift card I received from Marriott for my birthday. The clerk did not know how to process. The next day a check out a different clerk didn't know how to process. The frustrating part was that the card had an expiration date of two days post departure. The entrance doors didn't lock and anyone had access to the property. The room was clean but management has decided to remove the bathroom pump products for individual use items that didn't seem worth their label. I would NOT stay at this property!! read more

I had a really good experience at the Four Points by Sheraton. From the time I was warmly greeted by the front desk graveyard shift until I walked out the door. Let me just say, the lady checking me in was excellent! So kind and informative! I am seeing all these bad reviews and confused as heck. I paid $109 for a king bed on a Saturday for a fabulous hotel. They must have made some huge changes since these reviews were written. My room was very clean and very organized, with everything you could want in a room! Nice bathroom, a microwave, a fridge, a beautiful view out the window, coffee and even a couple bottles of water waiting for me in the room. It was very comfortable and warm in the cold Chicago weather. Very minor things that are wishes, but totally not necessary, I wish they had Bravo on their TV lineup lol. And they only had soap and lotion in the bathroom. Neither was a problem for me - just would be fun extras. Bed was comfy, got some great sleep! Their lobby is wonderful with a warm fire, many seating options, and an array of drinks and snacks! What more could you ask for in a hotel!? I'd stay here again in a second! read more

I travel quite a bit and I found that this hotel is very nice and clean and the breakfast is great with a maid to order breakfast. I've had a great on every day and they take really good care of you. The lady that works the front desk I believe her name is Niki is absolutely astounding She really takes so good care of her customers. She's very friendly and attentive, and she goes out of her way to help people. I had the misfortune of my room key, not working twice during my stay, and she instantly took care of it and made sure that I got into my room I don't know why this hotel doesn't get outstanding reviews all the time I found it's a very good property for the money and even though it's a little further from my work, I prefer to stay here They have a bar plus they have a great breakfast and they also will make you dinner at night if you're hungry How many hotels do you know that really go out of their way to perform outstanding service? read more

Our stay could have been better if the noise wasn't issue. We had to change a room because the kids in the next room and the room across the hall were loud. Sadly, we were moved two rooms down, so while it helped, we could still hear them. The other main issue, hotel guest that has no courtesy when walking the hallways. They carried on conversation as if they were at home late at night and early in the morning. The tap water here burns your throat. Bad. Maybe people are used to it here, but coming from a diff state you can DEFINITELY tell. To purchase a water bottle it has to be charged on the card on file, even if it's a company card. They will not take a separate personal card, only cash in which you get a fee charged by their atm more expensive than the water you buy. I was told there was a buffet upon check in but there was not. There are no stores within reasonable walking distance. I've NEVER had this hard of a time just accessing water. They are significantly concerned and protective of their water bottles more than their customers experience. Also the tub and toilet were trashed when I got here. No one cleaned. read more

Very disappointing accommodation. Mary's attitude at the front desk is really Horrible I don't know how someone with such an attitude can still work in a hotel. My husband was covered in bug bites and I was worried to death. We asked the front desk for help and she was very cold and arrogant. I said, "Is that how you treat guests?" She was banging on the table and yelling at me, and I was so worried about my husband that I yelled back at her, and you know what happened? She called the police. The wicked went first... And the police believed her... The customer's need for help was not immediately solved, but she acted like a white rabbit in front of the police. Later, an ambulance came and my husband got help. But Mary told the police that we were evicted at 4:30 in the morning, and we later took our luggage with the police. Left at 4:30 in the morning. I would like to ask the hotel manager, is this the way staff treat guests? Why does Mary, such a rude employee, still work there when she has been complained so many times by customers? I had a three night stay during the week at this location recently. I booked via hotels.com and it was about $125 a night. The hotel is nice and spacious and they've made efforts to keep it updated. They only had a king accessible room when I arrived and overall it was clean and nice. My stay included breakfast vouchers and I asked for a microwave and fridge and they were accommodated easily. The breakfast is like fruits/cereal/ and hash browns and you can order eggs and stuff. The fruit was kinda molded I wasn't a fan and the eggs were no good but it's nice to have some options of stuff available early in the morning in a hotel. The price I think is a little high, but there is an outdoor mall, target, grocery store and so much more very close by and it's close to the high way. The worst hotel i have stayed at. They gave you the accessible room even I reserved for standard room with king bed. Room is so dark even after I turned on all he lights. Worst thing is no hot water!!!!! I could not imagine how one can shower with no hot water. Is the hotel expecting guests not to shower? Update: come here if you want to hurt your neck! It's decent here. This was my experience: GOOD: + It's clean. The bed, the bathroom, all very clean, thank you. + The bed itself felt good, new, a good mattress; I slept very well. + Breakfast area is pretty big, and there are options to order off menu if you don't want the buffet (which is essentially the same stuff as a Hampton Inn or similar). + Service at check-in and check-out was fast and pleasant. NOT SO GOOD: - It's 1987 in there! Get ready for a throw-back, time-warp experience. - They have leaking sky-lights above each stairwell. There was a plastic bag and a wash-cloth taped onto the railing, with a small trash can below, I assume to function as a catch can. Please just FIX the roof. The rate was reasonable and the location works for me, so I'll be back next week. If anything changes my mind, I'll post an update. read more

But then it started 1) TV had been out for two weeks and never got resolved 2) Elevator did not work so had to haul luggage up steps 3) Room was not made up and was told sorry short staffed 4) No annemities such as coffee in room 5) Last but not least toilet did not work properly When I voiced my concern was told "manager not here and don't know when he will be back in" And lastly we are short staffed, if you want to check out we are will to do that with no penalty WORST HOTEL AND SERVICE I HAVE EVER STAYED AT. This hotel is overall nice and conveniently located, however, the person at the front desk apparently put in incorrect info into the system when I checked in as I was using Marriott points for the first two days and paying with ATM card the third day. They charged my ATM for all three days which caused my checking account to become overdrawn. My bank covered it with savings, however, I was charged $12.00 service fee. Also, it would be nice to have the person checking you in remind you that they would charge your ATM immediately. I rarely travel and didn't even notice the sign (just a nice Customer Service gesture). When I checked out I told the desk person the issue. They did refund the two days that were charged, but I made it very clear, I would never stay at this hotel again. There was no excuse for this mishap. read more

I stayed at this hotel while in Buffalo Grove for a family member's funeral. The hotel is spotless, and the room very comfortable. What made my visit so exceptional however, was the kindness of the staff. Andrew Parrillo, Lew Kaycee and others were so good to me during this time. The first night here my rental car got stuck in the snow. One of the staff members helped to rescue me. The next day I got a care package and a card signed by staff due to the sad reason for my visit. I have stayed in many hotels around the country, but never one as kind as this one. I stay regularly this hotel for work. The building is older, but they have done some renovations recently and it's quite nice now. Rooms are clean and upgraded. Front desk and restaurant staff is super friendly. So while the facility does not have the crispness of a new building, they are doing quite well with what they have. read more

This large 2-story hotel has only one elevator that is halfway around the perimeter from the lobby and it was even farther from my room. I made the mistake of thinking that the rapidly closing door would stop when it hit something solid but it almost knocked me down and drew blood where it hit my arm. The desk clerk said that they were unaware of that situation and promised to do something about it. A nice room but poor signage made it difficult to find it. No refrigerator or microwave and no free breakfast. A breakfast buffet was available for $13.95 and I was awarded 2 free coupons as a result of my wound. It was better than most free breakfast buffets but I would never pay $13.95 for it. In the room, there were only 2 plastic- bagged thin plastic cups. The coffee maker had 2 regular and one decaffeinated packet but only 3 creams and 4 sugars. The 2 cups provided were substantial and I only needed one because the coffee tasted like boiled cardboard.
