    Nice outdoor area

Wedding season is upon us again and I attended another one at The Westin. I've been here for wedding festivities in the past, seems to be a popular venue. I got a room for a couple nights at the hotel and overall, everything is fine. The rooms are quite outdated with hues of brown decorating the furniture, bedding and decor. Not my vibe but everything worked fine in the room so no complaints but it just felt kinda old. The parking lot is a hike. Very huge parking lots and they are to the side of the actual hotel so you'll have a long walk no matter where you park. There is a drop off area though. The pool is beyond wack. Well it's not that bad but the most insane bait and switch. Check out the photo they posted on Google, then look at my photo. I was lied to! LOL! The pool was hot as a sauna which I liked but may not be for everyone. They hold tons of events, and if you aren't here staying for an event, you may not care for it. I sure would not stay here if an event was not occurring. Sorry, Westin!

Smaller club room on the top 16th floor, great views

Had no problems here, clean rooms and club room access on the 16th floor. In the rather small Club room on 16th floor, water and sodas, snacks are available until 10pm. Free hotel parking is a tad far from the main entrance on either side of the building. The area to right does have conference rooms and you can enter from the parking lot if unlocked. Adjacent restaurant in the building with bar. Perhaps a little high prices for convenience. Lots of options nearby and down Milwaukee Ave. Hotel is showing its age. They have updated the baths with rain showers at a decent height which is nice.

Model of how big the hotel is!

We absolutely loved this hotel! We were in town for two nights and this was close to many restaurants and bars. They have a Starbucks in the lobby and there's another one in the parking lot! It's a huge event hotel, huge lobby and lots of parking. There is a restaurant on site and at least four more in the parking lot or across the street. Our room was huge, very clean and the bedding was premium! Lots of nice amenities such as starbucks in the room, nice lotions and even a lavender roller for bedtime! We had a refrigerator in the room as well. No issues here, would highly recommend!

Arrived early and when I checked in via the app, I selected an earlier check-in time and thankfully the room was ready before the selected check-in time. This was nice because I needed to drop off my stuff before head back out. The doors near to the parking lot is all locked expect one and that one is hard to open from outside as I've learned later on. You need to use all your strength to pull it open. The staff member was welcoming and answered all my questions that I had, went up to my room. The room was decent, expected bit more with "Westin" title, but it'll do. Maybe it's time for some major renovations :) They have Starbucks at the lobby, but it's not affiliated with Starbucks. It's locally ran by the hotel staff and they do not take Starbucks App. If you want to use your app to get the points or use your card to pay, then walk about 3 to 5 minutes to brand new Starbucks around the corner. The room itself was spacious and open. It did have a mini-fridge, but no microwave. Bed was firm, just the way I liked it. Decent one night stay, however could only give three stars on this first visit.

There are great things about the hotel. The absolute best thing is the enormous shower. The next thing is the windows. They were huge and I really loved that. The rooms itself had outdated and scratched furniture and I wasn't impressed by the size either. At the very least I expected hotel staff to be friendly and accommodating. I just wasn't impressed overall but I was glad to at least say I tried it.

Beautiful hotel and lobby was opulent, nice and open. Great location including restaurants walking distance and a coffee shop on the lobby level that serves Starbucks but does not accept the Starbucks app. My room was spacious, modern and very clean. It was located at the very end of the floor that opened up into a long hallway, fluffy king bed and a Peloton bike by the window. I was seriously wowed by the fact my room had a Peloton and I definitely used it the next morning before starting my work day. I would definitely stay here again whenever I'm back in the area.

The brewery skews towards German style brewing which again, is pretty typical of a lot of breweries. The location really shines with its outdoor patio. There is a big outdoor area which is very family (and pet) friendly. They often have live music on the weekend. The brewery itself doesn't have any food, but they have rotating food trucks that come in. The day we were there it was a wood fired pizza truck which was pretty good. Everyone in our group had a good time, and I liked the overall vibe. I will note there were a lot of kids (between us our group of our adults had four kids) so keep this in mind if you go. Overall the beer was good, the atmosphere was perfect for the summer, and we enjoyed our time at this spot.

If you are looking for a venue for your event, STOP RIGHT NOW - YOUR SEARCH IS OVER! In September…read more2017, Loft21 hosted our wedding reception and it was absolutely incredible! The newly-renovated space incorporates every detail you could imagine into your event. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you're in a million dollar party. They can change the lighting to fit your theme, the audio/video system is out of this world, and the range of options through HYPE productions (incl. photo booth, dj/mc, music etc.) completely ices the cake for a perfect evening. It's hard to start describing how Loft21 is such a perfect venue, so let's start with the people. JuneElise, Loft21's event manager, is EXTREMELY helpful in guiding you along the way to a seamless event...she will answer any question you have, and deliver professional results quickly and efficiently...we did not sense this level of customer support at any other venue we shopped. Her attitude is great and you won't be disappointed. Secondly, the HYPE staff is incredibly entertaining, and our dance floor did not stop until the lights went on...they hit every corner of the music we requested and the MC, Adam, kept the party moving like a Mac truck... it was awesome, and we still get complements to this day. Jazmine, the owner, was quite involved with our planning as well, as she owns both HYPE and Loft21...so if you use both, you enjoy a discount and she was very clear on how the combined package saved us tons of cash. I could go on...so why don't I? The atmosphere is so unique and stimulating... the bars are uber-modern with an industrial feel, the staff is incredibly well trained and friendly, the globo with your event logo shines on the wall, the preferred caterer they recommended was perfect (Marcellos!), the audio video incorporation is super cool, and we wished the night never ended!! I'd say, with all the competition we shopped for our wedding, Loft21 provided the most competitive pricing for a 350 person event that we could find - they offered everything we wanted (and more), and you will be doing yourself a favor by calling them today before their calendar fills up. If you talk to JuneElise, and you have any doubts about booking with them, you have my permission to ask her for my contact info for a referral. You simply can't go wrong! Tim G.

Hence why Loft 21 is such a popular option for bar mitzvahs and other big events. If you have a 12/13 year old kid going thru the mitzvah circuit chances are you'll end up here. The venue itself is owned by Jazmine at Hype Productions. I haven't rented out Loft 21, but have hired Hype twice and been thrilled with everyone I"ve worked with over there so I"m guessing this is so exception. Jazmine is very on top of everything, which is perfect for my type A personality. While I highly recommend Hype for event production you can bring in others to the space. The bar mitzvah we attended this past weekend had Tenny from Flo as their MC. The space can easily be transformed and seems to work with any theme. And for those who don't want to go crazy with decor it's a pretty venue on it's own. They have a nice area upstairs for cocktails. People tend to congregate near the bar which can make it crowded so I recommend putting a food station (or extra bar) in the area separated off so that people spread out just a bit. This area also overlooks the ballroom so at the end of the cocktail hour they do a big reveal by showing the room down below, which is cool. The acoustics in the space aren't great and my biggest complaint is that I can't hear anyway near me while I"m there. I can also barely hear any speeches when I'm in the space. However, it works great for music, montages and anything else you need.

It's now her desert island dish. It's a very very nice space. And our server knew the menu backwards and forwards. Anyone who's had the grated "parmesan" in the green can will appreciate the genuine Parmiggiano Reggiano they serve here. Freshly grated with no cellulose, and that beautiful tang! However, I've been to more bar mitzvah celebrations there than I can count...and if you're looking for a venue that can do a turnkey mitzvah this is it. When looking for my own celebrations I looked elsewhere because I prefer a venue that's a little different, but Ravinia Green has the process down and makes it easy for those planning. Cocktail hour: I've been to cocktail hours in the restaurant, another room within the club and outside. I will say outside is the way to go if the weather cooperates, but unfortunately the weather is unlikely to cooperate in Chicago. Main space: It's a spacious room that's perfect for about 200 (an estimate) people. It's always the same set up with the stage straight ahead, bar in the back, photo booth to the far right and food stations towards the back and to the left. Tables are set up throughout the room with the kids typically being closer to the dance floor. It's a nice space that's easy to make beautiful with the right decor company. Food: I find the food to be fair here, but that's typically the case when it comes to serving food to the masses. I've been to parties where they can take quite a long time to service everyone from the stations so I recommend having 2-3 stations that aren't right next to each other to keep the lines down. I've found their Mexican and gyro stations to be the best. Dessert: This is what they do best so if you are at an event save room for lots of delicious desserts. I usually find apps and desserts (and skipping the entree) is the way to go at most events I attend and i know if i'm going to to ravinia green that the desserts will be extra tasty. Cost: I've never seen a proposal, but I'm sure planning an event is pricey, but i have heard it's more reasonable than many other local venues. We've been to so many events here that my family often says "again?" when i announce we are going to Ravinia Green, but there's something to be said for consistency and they consistently do a good job with them.
