    Amazing! We decided for our Thanksgiving to be catered by Four Sisters Catering. We had heard positive feedback from others so we had to experience. Even with all the positive reviews I was hesitant. When we open the foil containers it all seemed small for 8 adults and I was worried. We followed the directions to heat all the dishes and when tasted it all .. WOW WOW WOW!!! Four Sisters absolutely amazed me! Everyone had two full plates of the delicious Thanksgiving dinner and there were still left overs. There is not an specific item I loved the most because all dishes were Superb. Highly recommend. ($38 per person Thanksgiving dinner as of November 2020) Dinner included mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, Green Bean Casserole (out if this world), orange cranberry sauce (with whole cranberries), turkey brown and white meat, pecan pie and pumpkin. Huge Kudos to the staff at Four Sisters Catering for this Thanksgiving I am grateful for them because they stand by excellence.

As someone who has a background in event planning I was disillusioned into thinking I would be able to handle the task of planning and coordinating my own wedding. BOY WAS I WRONG. Mitzi asks the critical questions you will not find on The Knot or Pinterest. Specific timeline details that you may not think of until much later in the planning process. Although we had a rain plan in place for the day of the wedding, I was not willing to give up on having my dream outdoor ceremony. Despite there being high odds of rain for our wedding day, I wanted to take a chance and try to make the outdoor ceremony happen. Thanks to Mitzi's expert planning, we were able to setup for the ceremony inside and outside and make the call only 30 minutes before the wedding. It rained so hard that the power went out in the bridal suite and Mitzi was still able to pull off nothing short of a miracle. In addition to coordinating with every single one of our vendors to ensure a seamless evening, Mitzi also went to bat for us whenever she could. Whether it was negotiating with our caterer to ensure certain rental items were included in our contract or disputing charges from the transportation company for a town car that failed to show up, I knew I could trust Mitzi to handle everything. Seriously, if you don't want to drive your family, bridesmaids, and future husband crazy with your nonsensical ramblings about first dances and place settings, do yourself a favor and hire Mitzi Torres. My husband, Phil, and I waited for 3 years for this wedding because of COVID. At first, it was going to be at Wedgewood Brittany Hill in CO, then it got cancelled because of COVID, then Wedgewood Carmel in CA when things started to reopen, and finally we moved it to Hofmann Ranch because my mom is struggling with complications from her double knee replacement surgeries that were postponed because of COVID and she couldn't fly to CA. The day before our wedding, Southwest cancelled Phil's best man's and his wife's flights, Phil's cousins' flights, and my friend's flights and my uncle had to drive all the way from San Diego the day before the wedding. We were beyond worried and devastated. Because of the Hofmann Ranch team, we felt so secure and so loved and our families and friends were able to meet each other for the first time and connect with each other. Britney thought of everything: making sure that my mom had a place to sit so that she could march with me halfway down the path of the patio deck, she held onto my train, she made a water color Phannie drink sign that was gorgeous, she made sure that we ate, she thought of every single detail and schedule change when our families kept talking and singing (this is what happens when you get a whole bunch of Filipinos together LOL), she made sure that Phil and I ate food, and there are countless other things that I am sure that we don't know about. Giving Britney my bouquet was the only way that I could say how grateful I was for creating a magical place and experience in spite of all the obstacles. Phil and I are so thrilled and feel like we were destined to be married at Hofmann Ranch. You have a special place in our hearts. I hope that your mother liked the bouquet. This is what giving it to you means to me.  We would like to express our love and gratitude to Britney, Sara, Chef Daniel, Mark, Joey, Josh, and the Limelight Photography team. Each of you made our day absolutely wonderful. Additionally, Cynthia's cake design and William's flowers were beautiful! Our coordinator Brittany and captian Sara were angels! They ensured my husband and I got every thing we needed. Chef Daniel and staff Mel, Lizzie, Natalia, Sirena were attentive, efficient and kind. Our Bartender Teresa was lively and quick to tend to our guests. The planning, meeting with vendors and appointments leading up to our wedding were a breeze. Everything was taken care of so well. The venue itself is beautiful we couldn't have asked for anything different. I will forever recommend this masterpiece of a venue! You can tell this staff is very talented and knowledgeable but still makes you feel like your day is most important!

I appreciated her drive and organizational skills from our very first emails. Our wedding was fraught with planning drama, and despite the fact that we only booked partial planning services, Helayne went above and beyond to help us out when our planning experience hit the rocks. She is the perfect balance of honest and accepting. I know our wedding was offbeat and one with many firsts for her, but she never made us feel like our choices were any less meaningful just because they weren't "traditional." However, she didn't shy away from having the hard conversations - she told us bad news plainly, and honestly, but always had a backup plan. She doesn't sugarcoat things, which, when you're planning an event, is a valuable asset. Despite our planning drama, I almost began to enjoy watching her handle vendors on our behalf - she has this masterful ability to question people in such a way that she gets a truthful answer from them, even if they don't want to give it. Maybe it comes from her history as a teacher! My mother described Helayne as a military general, and that is absolutely accurate. She is meticulous, prepared, grounded, realistic, and capable. And maybe has a secret twin, because I'm not sure how else she managed to be everywhere at once on our wedding day.

After spending multiple hours going over every single detail of my wedding (details that I had no idea would matter), I felt completely confident in Helayne! She did not leave one stone left unturned! My wedding rehearsal went by flawlessly, due to her patience, attention to detail and overall joyous personality! On the day of my wedding, Helayne worked proficiently making sure every detail we previously talked about was executed. And executed, it was! My setup was gorgeous, my bridal party was always in the loop and never once out of place. She made sure that my photographer was taking all the right pictures, my bridal party was getting ready at the right time, and that my bride to be was stress free! I never once lost confidence in Helayne and her services! After we said "I do", I was able to sit back, relax and completely enjoy my reception. She was even flexible when I decided during the reception to cut out the bouquet toss and other events because I simply wanted to dance! She never lost patience, even when my DJ turned out to need more help then he should of. Helayne went up and remind him what to announce and when to announce it (even though she provided him with a detailed itinerary). She made sure to check in with the my family/friends that were part of our reception to give them a heads up before they were needed. ( 10 minute notices before best woman & maid of honor speech, etc) I can not speak more highly of anyone! Without Helayne, I feel that my wedding day would have been a complete mess! At the end of the night, all my family and wedding party could talk about was how AMAZING Helayne was! We hardly had two weeks for the event day and Johnell worked day and night to get everything planned and coordinated according to the theme of the party. She provided great suggestions like the claw machine, face painting and a magician. It was tough to get a magician in that short time period but she did her magic to find the best one for the event and it was great! All our 50+ guests who attended the party raved about how well the planning and coordination was done for a 3 year old's birthday. It wouldn't have happened without her! She also helped with my baby shower back in early 2020 when Covid didn't hit us yet. My husband worked with her to throw me a baby shower and it was amazingly done. That baby shower event has made us reach out to her again because we knew she will do an excellent job and can trust her because she puts her heart in every event that she takes up. Thank you so much Johnell for all the efforts and an outstanding work even with such short time that you had.

    I write this in case it's helpful for others. I sincerely wish I'd have known what I was getting…read moreinto before I entered into a contract with Johnell. If you're not inclined to read the entirety of this lengthy review, I sum my experience up in the last two paragraphs. My wedding was only 1.5 months away. I chose the full package option. As a full-time professional & graduate student, the idea of a wedding planner sounded like heaven. Her reviews were phenomenal. I thought we'd get timelines, help with our vision, several vendor options with differing price points. Instead we got snarky eye rolls when we'd ask about details, sarcastic jokes about us needing to book marriage counseling, disinterest in getting us what we actually wanted, and extremely abbreviated access to her at her convenience. Honestly, it was devastating. The most stressful part of our wedding planning became my interactions, and oftentimes lack of interactions, with Johnell. Price points and vision would continuously get lost in translation. The pattern: Time would pass despite our requests for input on selecting vendors (for example, 3 weeks for florals) and then we'd get an almost finalized contract from a single vendor we hadn't vetted. In the case of florals, at a price of $11K when we'd explained our floral budget was $3K. She was extremely dismissive. Even requests for a quick 15 minute check in call could go ignored. Her preference most of the time was to send emails during peak work hours. And her emails, most times, left things unclear. We explained several times that a weekly 15 minute call was what we needed. But she was extremely resistant. We had, at max, 2 to 3 such calls and then she refused to participate in any others. It was maddening with our 6 week timeline as we felt like our hands were tied about really understanding the status of and options for things. My fiancé and I defaulted to doing the legwork ourselves. When we did, vendors were LOVELY. Bending over backwards to assist us. Supplying us with multiple options and ideas. They took the time to hear us and ask about what we did and didn't want for our day. I was overwhelmingly grateful for their support and availability. I was stunned when Johnell sent an angry email chastising my fiancé for calling a vendor. She reminded us that we'd have to pay her even if we were doing the work. I reiterated to her that this had nothing to do with payment. We'd started doing the work ourselves because we felt handcuffed and limited w/ her at the helm. Over and over we'd discover her "no, that's not possible" would become "sure, we can do that, and here are several other options too" once we'd finally talk to a vendor. The most important thing for me: the wedding to have our unique imprint and flair- were in direct odds with Johnell's priorities. Her priority was the path of least resistance, what's easiest & most convenient for her. Things came together beautifully. But it really was in spite of and not because of our planner. With the vast majority of vendors, we elected to go with others that we'd vetted. This brought on its own drama as we then witnessed Johnell being cold and dismissive with these individuals when they'd attempt to ask questions or share options. I made several attempts to explain to her how poorly we felt we were being treated - via several emails and voicemail when she wouldn't answer or return my call. She would eventually respond in an email days later with a dismissive, "everything will be fine" one-liner. The last straw was her denying us a 15 minute phone call the week of the wedding. Four days after we requested the brief call with her, she emailed, "No, I've done my job already. See you at the wedding on Saturday. Email me a list if there's changes." This transpired despite her contracted description of "unlimited phone calls and emails" and us only having had at most three direct phone calls with her. At that point, we decided to cut ties with her completely. It was an extremely high sunk cost. One that benefitted her (she was paid in full despite not working the week of or day of the wedding) & would cost us greatly. It was worth it though as the thought of this, in our experience, truly unprofessional coordinator running our special day was too disheartening. In sum, I felt trapped in this working relationship. I wound up having to expend more time and energy on fixing things vs had I not had a planner to begin with. All the while being made to feel like a huge annoyance during the brief times when we would have access to her. Her communication style is one tailored to meet her needs and convenience rather than the client's. In hindsight, I never should have hired her. It was the poorest decision of my wedding planning process.

Lily and Margarita served us that evening and were an absolute joy to interact with. Their presentation was beautiful, food always fresh and they were always present and of service to our guests.
