We cannot recommend Ryan and Four Wings Photography enough! Ryan, owner and photographer, is such a talent. His pictures are beyond gorgeous -- check out his portfolio for yourself -- but he is also open to the direction that you provide in making sure that his style reflects your own. Not only is Ryan a great artist, since you can see that clearly online, but something less tangible to note is that he is great at understanding the different people included in your wedding and ensuring that everyone can work well together to get the shot. For our wedding, he worked with Leslie (a second shooter), who provided a strong balancing presence to ensure all stayed on track. The two of them together worked magic with our (not always easy) family and took some breathtaking photos. On the day we were overwhelmed, exhausted, and intermittently assaulted by mosquitos but Ryan and Leslie worked professionally and swiftly to ensure we didn't get bitten to shreds and the photos they somehow pulled together are incredible. You would never guess that we were anything other than blissfully happy, and seeing that joy in the images captured of our day really helps us remember how wonderful it all was (even if the day was also a whirlwind). As we were preparing for our wedding we looked all across Western Massachusetts for a photographer that we liked. We eventually decided to look into Four Wings Photography after we saw some of the demo materials found on the website. When we met with the photographer Ryan for the first time, we knew instantly that we wanted to work with him just by the way he talked about his joy for his work. On top of his amazing personality he does incredible work, and his wedding packages were perfect for what we were looking for. This past weekend we had the chance to work with him on our engagement session which was included in our wedding package. When we met with Ryan we gave him a few ideas and he ran with them (in a good way). He took time with us throughout the afternoon and he made sure to capture the special moments between my partner and I. When he sent us a few of the photos before finishing his editing, we were blown away by his incredible skills and attention to detail. Overall, we are really excited and blessed to have chosen Ryan. I was introduced to Four Wings at the Big E bridal expo last year, and they stood out to me as the most professional and talented photography group there. Everything from their marketing, to their presence, to their portfolio. Ryan, the owner and chief photographer of Four Wings, was away from his booth when I first stopped by, but Joe, an assistant photographer, really hooked me on the idea of using Four Wings. Although we were going to be married in Tucson, AZ, Joe encouraged me to think about getting our engagement photos done here by a Western MA photographer, and maybe even think of having Four Wings fly out to Tucson for the wedding itself! When I met Ryan later on that day, he had the same motivated mentality, and I decided to book a consultation with him. Ryan works out of his home, but again, his professionalism shines through: his entire basement was converted into a very posh office. There was coffee, plush couches, practically a gallery of his work. I immediately felt so confident and comfortable. We talked at length about what I was hoping to achieve, he looked at "inspiration" pictures I'd pinned to Pinterest, and he even gave some sage advice about other wedding planning items (he himself was planning a wedding at the time, too). I really appreciated his above-and-beyond helpful attitude; it was so natural and unpretentious! We ended up not booking with Four Wings for three reasons: 1) We decided not to "splurge" on a professional engagement session (something I likely will regret later). 2) We realized that, as much as we liked Four Wings, it would be an added step of organization, expense, and planning to have them travel cross-country for our wedding. 3) After looking at my inspiration pictures, Ryan did concede that this wasn't his usual style of shooting. Later, Jamie and I ended up booking the photographer whose photos I had pinned and fallen in love with. I *so* appreciated Ryan's honesty in this matter, it helped me to make a decision I'm really excited about. If, however, you are planning on having your wedding in Western Mass-- or even anywhere in New England-- I can highly recommend Four Wings as a great option. November, 2013: My husband and I start talking seriously about getting married, someday. March 2014: We decide that we're going to do it. And set the date to June 15 so that extended family from overseas can make it. Mid-March 2014: What-are-we-going-to-do-no-one-we-know-well-does-photography... Luckily, we have some friends who put us in touch with Ryan of Four Wings. We were worried about our little picnic pavilion wedding not appealing to professional photography, or the photography being way out of our price range and budget. Ryan suggested we meet him and discuss our options. We have great friends, and I'm not surprised that Ryan (a friend of some great friends, and also a photographer for *their* weddings too) is equally kind, funny, and generous. Ryan worked with us to decide what kind of coverage made sense for the day, and we decided to do an engagement session in May too-- a good idea to get comfortable not just with the photographer but also with the phenomenon of being photographed. Ryan was great the day of, and the photos are, of course, fantastic. They're the same caliber that you see on his website-- I always wondered if there was a gap between the photos on a webpage the ones you actually get back from your own wedding, and I'm happy to report-- there isn't! I smiled at the tender moments he captured as well as laughed at the personalities he was able to capture. Book him early, Lock him in, Your best vendor hire - PERIOD!! There are so many things that I do not have room to say about Four Wings Photography and Ryan Williams. The first two vendors we booked were the venue and Ryan. Ryan's shooting and editing style was exactly what we were looking for, so when we stumbled on him on WeddingWire, it was a perfect find. But we didn't understand how perfect. Ryan is just incredible. He answered all of our questions, he's straightforward about every detail, he's the BEST personality, the packages include a second shooter - which was a HUGE priority for us - and those seconds he brings are amazing as well. Our engagement shoot was so much fun, and Ryan picked the perfect place. Then FINALLY came the wedding day - which thunderstormed - but Ryan kept our minds off of it the whole time. We had to contend with another wedding in our venue due to the weather, but Ryan was ON TOP OF IT. We knew Ryan was "the one" the minute we met him. We immediately clicked with him, which is so easy....he is calm, fun and makes you feel very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed every interaction we had with Ryan throughout our entire process, from our meetings with him to our engagement shoot, to the wedding day.
