The staging she arranged was clever and fun and worked beautifully with the space. It was a long and pretty tiring day for them I'm sure, but they were upbeat and awesome the whole time. It wasn't even my wedding and I liked them both so much I knew they'd earned a 5-star Yelp review. But then I saw the photos! OMG! They're so incredible! Somehow we all look like ourselves but also the very best versions of ourselves and the spirit of the celebration is alive in each pic. Laura doesn't watermark her prints which is also really cool of her - and she started posting pics online the very next day! The whole album was up in less than 2 weeks and she gave out little cards with info about how to find the pics on her website toward the end of the reception. I found some lovely ones of my friends, myself and the bride that I will buy and frame. I wish she lived closer, I'd ask her to take all of my family photos going forward. Most recently my mother in law gave us a gift certificate with Laura to shoot our still growing family in September as we had another daughter who was soon to be 1 and we had yet to capture our family of four on camera. As you might imagine capturing a 1 year old and a 2 year old in the same photo lens is quite a challenge...they don't sit still long! Or look at the camera! Needless to say Laura was wonderful with the girls and we were able to stretch our time and get some absolutely amazing photos! I've been involved in a few weddings, and my thoughts about the pictures have always been "eh...there ok", I've also noticed that during the whole "picture taking time", everyone is cranky and just wants to get it over with. My husband and I first chose Angela because she made an effort to come to our house to interview with us on a weeknight (she lives almost 2hrs away) and because she was very friendly and super sweet. She showed us all of her equipment, went over her website with us, and she even went over HER favorite photographer's website to show us the kind of work she is inspired by and emulates. We are glad we chose her because not only did she show up on time the day of our wedding, she was fantastic at giving tips and suggestions to me (non picture related) while I was getting ready and she had a way of putting me at ease. I hardly knew she was there all day and she made sure to get all the shots that I asked for and some that I didn't but ended up loving. She was even able to get great pictures of people that I haven't seen stop and pose for a picture EVER. She was young and fun, and she made sure the portrait pictures that everyone finds insufferable, were done in a fast and efficient manner. The other reason we really liked her was that she had a very photojournalistic approach to her photography. While she was very aware of the desire for regular posed portraits, she made sure to capture a lot of the little "moments" that make the most memorable and treasured pictures. On top of all that, she was very reasonably priced and was willing to work with us on the different packages that she had available, mixing and matching what we wanted and needed with our budget. She also travels all over NE, and is willing to do destination weddings if her schedule allows. The only negative thing I could possibly say about her, which isn't really negative was that she uses pictage.com to post your pictures on after for an online proof viewing. She passed around a sheet at the wedding for guests to put their email on it and they would be sent a link to the pictures. I just wish she would have let me seen the website BEFORE everyone else, that way I could make some of the photo's private if I didn't like the way I looked or the way something came out, but other than that I think it's a great idea that the guests can see all the professional ones without having to pay for them. She caught my eye, looked up at the sky and said to me and my husband, "Crazy idea guys, I know you were planning on heading to the cocktail hour after the ceremony but the sunset is so gorgeous...would you possibly want to head down to the beach to get a few sunset shots?" Just one of the MANY reasons why Angela is so awesome. Now picture this; a bride in her wedding dress, a groom in his tuxedo, a videographer and two photographers with all of their gear RUNNING to catch the perfect sunset picture on the beach. I'm not kidding, we actually RAN to the beach. FYI - Angela also possesses the rare ability to run while simultaneously taking amazing photos. YEP, she's THAT good. Not only did we make it to the beach, we made it there JUST in time to catch the most breathtakingly beautiful sunset I have ever seen. Everything was perfect; the lighting, the water, my husband... the list continues. It was there, on the beach, that I realized how truly blessed my husband and I were to have Angela as our wedding photographer. After an initial FaceTime call, Katie followed up with a personalized timeline of the day, making sure every small event was accounted for, before I even signed a contract!
