I spent quite a bit of this morning on the phone, and had a couple of call backs this afternoon, and thankfully FourLeaf reversed their decision against me and will not be taking the funds out of my account. Horrible experience getting a refinance completed. Four Leaf is not the wonderful standard of BFCU. They are inconsistent and inept, terrible at communication, make you jump hurdles to figure things out and seem quite UN-invested in customer service. The Lynbrook office has gone steadily downhill since four leaf has taken over. Tellers and Bank staff state "different policies depending upon the time of the day. Nobody even knows the right policy and I had to school them. When I went in this morning, I was told that I was not allowed to take out interest from CDs. I was told that there would be a penalty and a break fee if I took out interest. That's not the case as I've done it several times before. Then the manager told me there was a $.10 penalty fee. Talking about nickel and diming, . Every time the answer is no no and no when it should be yes or let me see what I can do to help you. I sent out five letters to the heads of the bank. It seems that nobody knows or cares. I can't wait until my business is finished so I can close my accounts at this branch and go somewhere that they care. The overall 1 star rating for this bank says it all.... Bethpage was amazing and now Four Leaf could care less about their members. I've made a dozen calls about my heloc and how the checks stopped working. Their reply was "of course your account number changed when we changed names and we sent you new check book" FIRST Ive had banks change names and accounts never changed. IF you were changing MY account number I should have been informed. There has been limited communication from Four Leaf. I'm now waiting on the 3rd attempt for them to send me a check book. Every time I call I get different answers. Now Im told wire transfers are no longer allowed from HELOCs. Additionally I requested to speak to a manager and when I got to her I was informed that I need to schedule an appointment for a conversation which is outrageous. Very disappointing experience with FourLeaf. After approving my home equity line, they mailed the funding checks instead of wiring the funds. Even though I didn't receive the checks until several days later, they started accruing interest from the date they claimed the funds were "released." When I questioned this, the representative gave a scripted reply with no flexibility or sense of fairness. Essentially telling me I'd have to pay interest for days when I had no access to my own funds. This kind of treatment says a lot about how the company values its customers. I would strongly advise anyone considering them to think twice and explore lenders who actually prioritize transparency and customer service. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. Endless prompts that do not understand English, then asks you to press the corresponding # for the exact item just spoken. Was transferred to the Credit department which was wrong and again transferred to another rep in the Debit card dept. Then was told they couldn't do anything for me and said I had to call Member Services, which is where I started. I started all over and finally got to a customer service rep (that I couldn't understand) after 10 minutes of prompts who told me I couldn't report fraud after 7:00 p.m. at night. Their hours are 7:30 a.m to 7:00 p.m.! How ridiculous is that? I am closing my account as soon as this is resolved. I had 3 transactions made by someone in Miami that I did not recognize. They actually said, "oh that's too bad." Not a lot of money thank God, but still it's my money. I have used Jovia for 30 years and never had a problem like this. I am floored by the lack of urgency and the endless time it took to get to a real person. This is completely unacceptable for a financial institution that is supposed to protect your money and assets. I strongly urge you to consider a different credit union. Worst customer service experience I've ever had and FourLeaf keeps fraudulently charging me a penny after my auto payment that they control the amount of and then claiming I underpaid a penny and reporting me to credit unions and sending me threatening letters. This has gone on for over 5 to 6 months now no matter how many times I call and try to fix it or no matter who I talk to that claims it's fixed. The people you deal with also are absolutely bottom level. Don't care type bureaucrats who have no interest in really helping you and will actually transfer you mid sentence or hang up on you. BEWARE, ESCROW ANALYSIS and Insufficient funds. For a lot of us who were formally from Bethpage, after the transfer to fourleaf, they made an extra payment towards my "property taxes" soon after the transfer in July. The thing is, Taxes get charged April and Oct. I already paid April but they charged me in July and now informed me that it was a mistaken payment... My payments wouldve went up a couple of hundred dollars and they kept ignoring my clear logic around why my escrow balance should not be insufficient because I've actually been paying extra to offset and low escrow balance issues. The rep tried to make me feel like I didn't understand the issue when I own several pieces of real estate, am in real estate and understand how mortgages work well... I made a spreadsheet and clearly showed evidence there was money missing. I even asked for my escrow history report and they said they'd get it to me by the following monday, Monday came, nothing. I called back, they said Bethpage is slow so call back at the latest on the 25th which was over a week later.. Called back, they still don't have it. Honestly, I might report this to the FTC or CFPB if this is a common occurance. read more

Since they changed from Bethpage Federal Credit Union to Fourleaf Federal Credit Union. It's been nothing but a headache. I took out a HELOC loan and when I try to pay off the backend of the loan the website won't allow me to do it. I have to call and go through 25 minutes of automated responses to get to anyone. The bank account and the mortgage department are now 2 separate entities. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. It's a complete mess over there. And every time I call I get the same song and dance "we're sorry we're working on it!" This has been going on ever since they changed their name! If you have a HELOC, they require an act of God to get your own money. You can link outside bank accounts to pay the loan, but not to transfer the money out. Everything requires either a trip to the branch or a call to customer service, and their customer service sucks. read more

I have a Fourleaf account. I tried to make a transfer from savings to Heloc account. But there is no way to do this on the website. When I asked by chat, they said I need to get info about Savings from different dept and need to call separate phone#. They put me on hold forever. Both accounts are in Fourleaf, but I have to talk to 2 different depts. Keep tossing around for nothing. Why can't I make a simple transfer in 1 page. And can't find how long for this process. Primitive bank - manual and paper based like the 1980's. Cannot transfer fund from HELOC electronically, only by going to branch and even then it's a multi-day process or by paper check (which was never sent to me). Furthermore the app and website lost all my transaction history. read more

They recently changed their mortgage provider and it is impossible to work with; you can't reach a human being on the phone. Their new mortgage web page has no useful information and doesn't show the payments you made, For their regular web site, you can't download your scheduled bill payments. A hacker was able to make a charge for more money than I even had in my checking/savings combined. The charge was initially declined, then the hacker tried again and it went through. Bad experience with HELOC. My loan closed July 7th and I was told I would have access to funds 4 days afterwards. That was a lie. I didnt get it until almost a week after funding. Then I was told checks would be mailed for the remainder of the heloc. I am still waiting on those. I attempted to set up online autopay with these people and was told that my loan number changed, so I had mto wait until I received mail for the new loan number. I noticed a fax number was on the auto pay paperwork. I attempted to fax the auto pay paperwork to their office. Their fax number on the paperwork is invalid. So I called them and was told I didnt need the loan number, I needed my savings account number to set up auto pay. So now I am waiting for them to mail me my savings account number to pay these guys. They do not make it easy for any transactions. Stay away. read more

Their online services for my HELOC are awful. I've waited over 30 minutes on two different occasions to talk to a representative. I just gave up both times. Transferring money in and out is cumbersome and often times doesn't even work as it should. Payments are not processed as they should be and/or in a timely fashion. Correspondence in general is awful to try to get to the bottom of the issues. I had such high hopes for them and now it's turned out to be a bad decision to use their services. I'm not sure what changed since Four Leaf took over Bethpage, but I've definitely noticed a shift -- and not in a good way. Every time I visit a local branch (Lynbrook or the one on Dutch Broadway), the clerks never seem happy or welcoming. I don't know if it's due to new restrictions or micromanagement, but the atmosphere is cold and uninviting. As a small business owner running a 24/7 operation, the limited customer service hours (Monday-Friday, 7 AM-7 PM) make it extremely difficult to get support when it's most critical. Tonight, my account is on hold due to a Zelle issue, and because there's no after-hours help, my drivers may lose business if customers don't have cash, a debit/credit card, or Cash App. For a financial institution that claims to support the community, especially small businesses, you've got to do better. My experience with Four Leaf had been horrible and I wrote a very negative, albeit accurate review yesterday (8-19-25) of my experience. after the review I received an email from them saying they would reach out to me. Today Ivonne Rodriguez called. she was fantastic and walked me through setting up auto pay, which the gentleman (Kent) that I talked to yesterday (after being on hold forever) was simply incompetent and had no idea how to do it. Fair is fair. the same way I wrote the previous negative review, I felt I should also write this review to commend whoever hired Ivonne. She is the type of customer service professional that is well prepared, friendly and gets things done. FourLeaf Federal Credit Union made Home Equity lines really inconvenient for their customers! This time I am writing about the issues making principal payments to the HELOC. The payment platform they use do not allow an option to make principal only payments even when you have made the interest payment. I have to call into the new servicer to have this done. This is another huge inconvenience for the customer. To fix this issue, FLFCU needs to move all HELOCs back to their original servicer and allow the original features of the app and online platform. I wrote a review 7 days ago regarding the following issues with the HELOC. Customers with home equity lines can only access that money through checks. Money cannot be transferred through the app or through any other source. This is extremely inconvenient for customers! Previously, customers could transfer money within the app to other accounts with FourLeaf 24/7. This is the ideal way for customers to be able to use their home equity lines because it allows us access to our money when we need it, 24/7, and within minutes! In addition, it allowed customers to deposit money into the home equity line more easily for payments. To fix this problem, FourLeaf needs to reinstate the ability to transfer funds from the home equity line to all accounts with FourLeaf and allow direct deposits into the home equity line within the app. It is understood that companies make mistakes; however, it is how they handle those mistakes that matter. FourLeaf needs to fix this immediately to show they pay attention and are here for the convenience of their customers. read more

If you're considering a Home Equity loan, run, don't walk away from 4 Leaf CU. This is my 3rd equity loan (2 with former Bethpage CU) over a 30 year period. Bethpage was easy to use, terrific customer service and you could transact banking business from one screen. 4 Leaf is exactly the opposite. They have made mistakes during the initial setup and only corrected the problems after repeated phone calls (5 or 6 to be exact). Unfortunately, this once decent institution is no longer decent. I've been a member for over 20 years, watched it grow, now seeing it sink to nothing. t I've seen the collapse of decent customer service when it was farmed out to the Baltimore, Maryland area. A few weeks ago, I saw that Bethpage was down for a few hours. When I used my phone to do a transaction, there was an issue...so I went to my local branch. The parking lot was almost full, and there was an employee at the door of the bank. He was there to tell everybody that Bethpage has had an issue and is down. He had no idea of when it would be back up. I listened to people tell stories about how they needed cash or how they needed to deposit something. What I don't understand is that there was no email from the head of BFCU, Linda Armyn, to all of the Bethpage members, regarding what happened. There was no email that said, sorry we made a mistake. There was no email that said yes we had a problem and now we're looking for ways so it won't happen again. I sent an email to Ms. Armyn and received no response. What was once my trusted little Credit Union has now turned into a place that doesn't care about their customer service and doesn't care about whether or not anybody had problems when the system was down. You've become just another bank without a heart. How far you have sunk. Sad. read more

He did not find red flags, but my application was declined without giving any loan options. They must be looking for specific applicants and waisting your time and credit access. I am not happy as my user name for my log in suddenly stopped working. I called for assistance but in order to move forward I needed my account number. I don't have a checkbook from here and I do not receive paper statements. I was told maybe it was sent via email to check, when I did it required me to LOGNON TO MY ACCOUNT. that's the reason I'm calling. I now have to wait for them to mail my account number because my social security number and all other information is not enough. keep in mind, I was told I would receive it in 7-10 business days. FourLeaf is not competent at IRA distributions. They say, because their IRA distributions are processed in MD they cannot withhold state tax for any other states, so you are stuck with filing estimated state tax if you don't reside in MD. They just ignore your request to withhold state tax and don't notify you that they did. They did not withhold the requested federal tax amount. But after 45 minutes on the phone they corrected that fed tax error. They agreed it didn't match requested amount, but had no idea why it needed to be fixed, so may happen again. read more
