If i could give two separate reviews, I would, because the DJ and MC get a 5 star from me and my family. They did a great job overall and got everyone dancing and were generally friendly and great to work with. No major complaints there. There was a small flub with the dj/mc but they were wonderful and helpful and it was all good, and they kept the party going all night! I would hire them again if there is ever a reason for me too. If you are just booking a DJ and and MC they are great and you can stop reading the review here! If you are booking live solo musicians though there is more. I am lowering the review not because of the DJ/MC, but because of the live solo musican we had booked as well. We booked violin and piano, and were told the musician can play anything reasonable that will have sheet music. My husband picked a classical piece, not an overly crazy one, it's one that most students can play, so for a professional it should be a non issue. But I heard from multiple guests (many of whom are also musicans...) that it sounded off and even I could tell it wasn't right as I walked down the aisle. We were told only a short time before the wedding that the violinist was having to practice the piece a lot, but not that they couldn't reliably play it at all, and if we knew earlier it couldn't be played, we would have gladly hired any QC student or a peer to do it instead (and for less money). The violinist was also the piano player, and for piano we had requested jazz music, which was pretty important to my musician husband. To our surprise when we walked into the cocktail hour we hear "beauty and the beast" on piano. Totally not our vibe at all, not what we asked for, and no one gave us any warning that it would be changed. Again, if we knew sooner that the pianist either wouldn't or couldn't do jazz, we would have found someone else, or we would have changed to a different genre, but definitely not sappy poppy love songs.... Just such a bummer. The piano killed the vibe for me completely and he and I were both so looking forward to it. Overall the player was nice and whatever, and I guess if you just want some basic piano covers it's fine, but we expected more of a professional service, like a heads up that the music was changed even. All in all I still definitely recommend the DJ and MC and the owner(?) is a pleasure to work with, but just letting people know if they have any sort of specific live music wishes aside from the most generic, to go elsewhere for that one aspect. The cocktail hour music not being at all what we discussed was a definite stain on the otherwise perfect night for us. read more

Look no further for a DJ! These guys are amazing! We just had our wedding with them and they did not disappoint! The MC was amazing, full of energy, and kept the energy always at a 10. The DJ did his one job that we requested to "not kill the vibe and read the crowd" and he definitely did not disappoint. Everyone kept raving about how good our DJ and MC were. My husband and I used IV Generation for our wedding on September 1, and we have nothing but great things to say. We had my daughters graduation party this past weekend and we hired them for a DJ, zaptographer, open photo booth and special effects sparklers(I guess that's what they are called) while our DJ wanted desperately to get the party rocking he resisted and maintained operation within the set guidelines (CDC & Goveners orders) so we had the music we wanted, a lot of fun and managed accordingly. It takes great effort to make good things happen in difficult times and the effort on ALL aspects from this company far exceeded expectations. Fourth Generation DJ & MC'ed our wedding this year. They were absolutely amazing! I could not be happier with our choice to use this company for our wedding and reception. DJ Jacob was professional, friendly, and talented. I truly appreciate that he paid very close attention to my insanely long and borderline obnoxious "Do Not Play" list and "Please Play" list. He literally did not play one band/song on the do not play list and completely understood the vibe and type of music we were looking for! The dance floor was filled the entire reception (and it was a day wedding!). My family and friends are still talking about how great the music was and how there was a great mix for all ages. We were so impressed! Our MC James was extremely genuine, fun, and personable. I was impressed at how he remembered our guests names throughout the day. He had a smile on his face the entire time! We loved the service provided by Fourth Generation Entertainment at our wedding. Originally we had met with Jenn, the music coordinator/wife of the owner, to go over what type of music and the songs we wanted played at our wedding. She was friendly, personable, and helped us decide on the music that we wanted played. She provided ideas and took the time to help us decide on what we wanted. She made us feel very comfortable and treated us like family. The DJ was included in our package for our venue, and we opted to get the MC as well which we would recommend. The owner himself, Frankie, was the MC for our wedding and he was awesome. He struck a perfect balance of being on the mic and getting people dancing/moving, but also had down-time so it didn't feel like he was always on the mic and trying to get people to participate. The DJ also did a great job of playing to what the crowd was enjoying, so there was never a dull moment nor song. Several guests complimented us on the music, for playing both the oldies and pop culture music. read more

We used IV Generation for our wedding as they've done family parties in the past- just for DJ/MC service. DJ & MC were fine. Our issues were with the additional products- a package we paid $750 for that included Zaps, Plasma TVs to displays the Zaps and a video montage; as well as a photo-booth package that ran us $600. We received exactly 107 Zaps, and no exaggeration when I say about 60 were duplicates. There was 5-6 Zaps of each of the 10 entrances for the wedding (so in essence we had maybe 45-50 different pictures), no Zaps of cocktail hour which we discussed was important to us as we missed it, and the pictures we did get were overall of very poor quality. I know zap shots are not professional pictures, but I've seen many Zaps at many weddings and these were poorly done. Additionally, none of the zap shots made the plasma tvs- the main purpose of having both. There was a still shot of myself and my wife from 7-10:30, minus the video montage that played for 2+ minutes. We called our DJ the week of the wedding to confirm a head-count, at which time they gave us a count of 5. I found out when trying to tip out everyone that the Zap person was the same person responsible for running the photo booth to direct my guests to leave a copy and a message in an album- this person I also found out after the wedding was Frank's son who started high school the week after our wedding- a 14 or 15 year old. Guests have since told me he didn't give them any direction at the booth and rather spent much of the night sitting on a table and playing on his phone- a book we had to pay them $100 has about 6 photo booth pictures/messages left in it for a guest list of 180. The 14 year old that was responsible for both the Zaps/plasmas and the Photo booth didn't do either job well. Probably because he is 14. My aunt was almost kicked while walking to the bathroom as he was doing handstands in the hall. When I called Jenn, Frank's wife and the main coordinator at IV Gen, there was absolutely NO accountability. I never received an apology, but instead was told that the issues were due to our expectations as to what we paid for rather than both the booth and Zaps packages being completely unacceptable. After calling multiple times I was told a refund of $250 would be given- calculated by the DJ as 1/3 of the $750 Zaps package that we were unhappy with. Still a steal for the DJ as by my calculations I was screwed $80 for a plate I paid for a vendor that never showed, $500 for 2/3 of the Zaps package that was totally unsatisfactory, $600 for a photobooth and $100 for a book that wasn't properly advised any direction on- about $1280 we paid for for all of that. Jenn advised they'd refund $250 after Jenn spoke with Frank- then Jenn didn't return my call for two weeks. When I called back I received no answer again. I called again and finally got Frank, who told me "Jenn took care of it and it's on your credit card." Also was not true. I then got a runaround that Jenn was in the Carolinas for another week and it would be handled then. I had to call one additional time as nothing was again refunded. Finally I received a check in the mail- for $200, not the $250 agreed on after almost a month of chasing. I don't care how good the DJ/MC experience was. The scheming, non-accountability, under-delivered additional products prevent me from ever recommending this company again. Beware and make sure EVERYTHING is signed and in writing. read more

Used them as the DJ/Entertainment at our recent wedding at Windows in Lake Ronkonkoma. The DJ/Emcee were far beyond what could have been expected. In accordance with a meeting with them prior to the wedding, the DJ played 5 hours worth of the type of music mix we would've wanted if we did it ourselves. In addition, and more importantly, the emcee enhanced the fun of the wedding by playfully getting people involved with out making himself the center of attention. Very professional crew who clearly have the experience in cultivating a seamless night that people raved about. In addition, we utilized a separate service they provided; for a fair fee , we hired a photographer through them (in addition to the main photographer we retained) who's job it was to take 'Zap Shots' throughout the course of the reception which would be periodically uploaded into the venues system and were played on the overhead TV screens throughout the evening. We got many compliments on the candid/spontaneous shots, capturing the joy of the evening without the formal poses from regular pics. We received disks with all the pics on them at the end of the evening and were a great addition to what our more formal photography package provided. I highly recommend using them for your wedding or occasion. Very customer-friendly. read more
