I had the perch fried with baked potato and coleslaw. The perch was fantastic--very lightly breaded--and served with a big chunk of lemon and yummy tartar sauce. My partner had the pickerel and red potatoes and he was very happy as well. We had a nice chat with the bartender who is a long time resident--my partner grew up in the area so he really enjoyed catching up on history and changes around town. As an added bonus we got to watch folks fishing for walleye in the river, and then enjoyed a nice walk along the park.

Well he wasn't kidding! I finally tried it and now I must recommend the same to anyone driving that way. I received a warm welcome from the lady behind the counter as soon as I walked in. I went over to the pizza tray and saw three large slices of pepperoni and ham and a half slab of cheese bread left. The pizza special was 2 slices for $2.00 which was not bad since they were large slices. My boyfriend tells the lady that he would like two slices of pizza and two pieces of the cheese bread. The lady takes a look at what remains and then asked us if we would like to have the rest since they were closing soon and she didn't want it to go to waste. She didn't have to ask me twice; I will always say yes to more bread and cheese! She only charged us $2.00 to take all of it which was awesome of her! The pizza was very good and I loved the cheese bread it was crispy with a lot of baked cheese on top. This is a great place to stop and grab a quick lunch.
