What a load of crap! $68 on a Tuesday and you can't even put sand I. The bunkers. I do not recommend it.

The staff are exactly what you would expect at a course that is 10 years past its prime, but never realized it. The marshal just got in our face swearing (for something the pro ship said was fine before AND after the swearing match occurred) the pro shop guy (at least 80) was decrepit and had no clue how a computer worked to give us a refund. All of them clearly had an ego for some unknown reason. I have played here for years and everywhere single time is worse and worse. 2/4 courses this company owns don't have a superintendent, simply because it's a horrible company to work for. Speaking from experience, the "GM" (nepotism hire) would rather have the front lawn mowed so it looks better from the road, then actually have a hole cut well.Go play a golf course who charges a normal price, and has employees that aren't incredibly rude and halfway into grave. I'm only giving his place two stars instead of four because of this. The golf course is nice. Yes the lake is kind of challenging maple in the river or moderate to easy. Fairways are in good shape but here's where I draw the line. Basic candy bar is three dollars, yes, three dollars for the same candy bar you can get for a dollar in a gas station snack bar is way out of control pricing almost twice. They're competitors are at other golf courses. Shame on you guys. read more

This is one of the great courses in the area and it gets plenty of play its best to call for a tee time during the week the weekends can get crowded. The course has a great layout and if you play smart it will reward you it will also let you get yourself in trouble. The green are large and hold well they can change and can be challenging so chip it close. I've played here more times than I can count and have never been disappointed with the course, the staff or the amenities it's a first class public course for sure. If you haven't played here you should treat yourself to a round. It's a little off the beaten path but not that hard to find and you won't be disappointed. read more

I have been playing at Fowlers Mill at least 20 times a year for the last 15 years. I played there yesterday - 4-24-22 - and was very disappointed to see that evey single one of the so called "sand" trap was completely unplayable. Each one should have a red circle around it for a free drop. No sand in them, instead nothing but rocks and hardpan, and many even had plants growing out of what once was sand, now just dirt. Was like this last year as well, and can't belive they left it that way. Its a shame that CLE golf charges high prices to play there, but refuses to invest the minimal amount necessary to put sand in the gosh darn "sand" traps. Especially when the Best Sand Company is right down the street. If I was planning an outing or tournament, I would be embarrassed to hold it at Fowlers Mill at this point. Please owners, do the right thing, and stop ruining what once was one of the best public courses in Ohio. Now just a shadow of itself. read more

This course is not worth playing this year. The greens are in good shape but the rest of the course is horrible. The cart path has bigger potholes than major highways, take a weedeater to the tee box areas, fill in the ruts on the fairway, and fix all the divots throughout the course. I have played 4 other courses in the area that are in better shape! And cost less! read more

I try not to give 5 stars away lightly but this is my favorite public course in the Greater Cleveland area. If I had to I could write a couple pages on Fowlers but that doesn't make for light reading so I'll attempt to be brief. A Pete Dye design - the only one in the area. Fowlers has the classic railroad ties and 2 holes with split fairways. It is an old private course and can get expensive for the area on the weekends but for the most part you can find a decent price for how good the course is. I estimate that I have played about 100 public courses in Ohio and I think this is the second best, runner-up to only Longaberger which is 50 in the US. The course is usually in good condition, but it does get a lot of play. I have been out there a few times where the greens don't run as pure as they should. A couple of the holes are pretty average but that is really my only gripe. The course can back up to over 7,000 which can make for a challenge. The course requires a couple drives and second shots to have a cut or draw. You have a shot to get home on the par 5's if you can hit it long and move it from right to left - or you can play them honest and attempt to make 4 the old fashion way. That's what I like about this course and all Pete Dye's. If you hit good shots you will be rewarded, if you don't you will probably struggle to make par, and at the end of the day you can only really blame yourself. Course knowledge and knowing where to leave the ball will help you throughout the round. read more

I've had the pleasure to play five other Pete Dye courses in the USA ranging from Whistling Straights to TPC Sawgrass. Fowlers Mill resembles a Pete Dye course as much as I resemble Tiger Woods. I found the course on line and wanted to play another Pete Dye course that was close to where we were visiting in Ohio. The description on the course's website is far from reality. Based on the conditions of the practice range, the range balls and the condition of the cart paths, this course is closer to financial ruin than the "gem" they describe themselves as. There were "NONE" of the classic features of a Pete Dye property. It appears this course has NEVER spent a dollar on upkeep and improvements as you take your life in your hands trying to ride a cart on the paths that appeared to have been destroyed years ago. There is no graduated rough and very slow green speeds. They should just convert the property to a park and forget about pretending to be a golf course. read more

27 holes set in quiet, beautiful countryside. Course layout is private, with very little chance of another group playing into your fairway. Clubhouse is nice, staff is stellar and friendly. I've played 4 different rounds here, and I'm happy to keep going back for more. There is plenty of challenge. read more

I was invited to join a group for a yearly charity golf tournament here while visiting the Cleveland area. This course is a very nice, highly rated, Pete Dye designed course. I found it astetically enjoyable, and very challanging. This course meanders through fields and wetlands, over streams, changes elevations and has strategically placed sand bunkers everywhere. With the exception of a couple of tee boxes, the course was in nice shape, fairways like carpet, and greens roll true. It was a real pleasure and a treat to play this course and hope to be back to play it again someday. read more

Perhaps the worst course I've played in 10 years. From an awful layout to poor conditions, this course should be avoided at all costs. If you're in the area and have to golf, I'd suggest rolling a golf ball down the I77 and chasing after it. That would be preferable to playing this abomination. On the plus side, the staff are great and the clubhouse is adequate. To sum up, Cleveland rocks and this course blows. read more

Had my golf outing at Fowler's Mill on Friday, August 11, 2017 and couldn't have asked for a better event. The Staff (Jennifer, Julie and Jess) were exceptional and made everything flawless. The food was delicious and the course was in great shape and a great challenge. I would recommend anyone looking to have a golf outing to reach out to Fowler's Mill. Great golf course. Fair, but tough. Went through golfnow.com and got two people and a cart for 39.00. Played Firestone CC two days ago. While it is just a notch above, for $511.00 cheaper I'd play at Fowlers mill! read more
