I think most of the bad reviews are from people who don't go shopping much. This is a tourist area with lots of stores. I am giving 5 stars because the helpful young man who greets you helped me. He was very nice. Yes came and checked on us a few times but I shopped the sale racks only. Not interested in making a sweatshirt as he told me about. I found several pieces to take home to family at great sale prices. Out of most places it was the best priced store. I'm not intimidated easily so he didn't bother me. Very nice. Just check it out. Horrible place. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't go here. it is an ultimate scam with overly priced items. The sweatshirts were $22.99 but once you wanted to add a print, the price somehow went up to $69.99. Adding to this, the quality was absolutely terrible and the letters on the sweatshirt began to peel before we even got to wash them. The workers were extremely rude and did not offer any sort of a refund when we confronted them with the damage to our sweatshirts, and continued to say the damage was fine and "normal". There are many more souvenir shops on the island with cheaper, better quality items, with respectful employees. Save yourself the time, money, and disrespect given from the workers. Bought a zip up sweatshirt and wore it one time. Went to put on tonight and the zipper is broke. I paid more than I wanted to but got it cause I loved the screen print on it. The zipper should have lasted a lot longer. Now I have to pay someone to replace the zipper so I can wear it. I could see if I had for a long time and washed it many times but I haven't even had it a week. Wouldn't recommend buying anything from them. read more

Do not go here. There's a charming guy who greets you at the door, explains the custom printing process and (I'm positive) tells you a WAY inflated price for the print you want on your shirt. When you balk, he gives you a "discount" "just for you." It is still too high. When you ask about washing instructions so the image doesn't peel, he assures you that he will personally "double press" the image himself so it won't peel. Rest assured, this is utter bull. As soon as you agree to a price, he tosses the shirt to the woman behind the cash register, she presses it the way she does all the shirts and you are out the door, having been taken advantage of and lied to. If I could give a zero, I would! They have loud music playing, fast talking, and don't really tell you how much anything is until it's being customized. The price tag is NO representation of what you will end up with. Fully aware it's my own fault for not asking, this review is to warn others not to be swindled! I was charged $90 for 1 tank and 1 sweatshirt. She told me (as she closed the press) that the tank was $34.99 with what she was pressing on. Fine, I thought, I'm on vacation, it's a little splurge. That means that somehow, the sweatshirt for my 10 year old (price tag, 24.99), ended up being $55. No receipt in my bag. Buyer be very aware! The proprietors use techniques to confuse and distract shoppers. Clerks switch on and off so it's hard to tell who is helping you or who they're talking to when they're talking, even when you get to the cash register. T-shirt prices listed do NOT include the cost of the iron-on transfer, which is exorbitant. For example, a child's t-shirt (extraordinarily low quality, think Wal-mart $1 bin) is listed for $12 with no indication whatsoever that adding a pattern costs extra. They don't ring you up or tell you there's an extra charge until AFTER the custom t-shirt is already made, at which point they tell you the cost is $49.99, grouch at the other clerk for not telling you even though they helped on and off just as much. Then they tell you it's non-returnable and non-refundable since it's a "custom" order. It's my understand from frequent visitors to the Island and to their other store in Mackinaw City that this business owner is notorious in the area for deceptive business practices and customer complaints to the city. This business is not marked well, but it's located between Twist and Sprouts and the pizzeria. Don't say we didn't try to warn you. read more

My daughter bought a cute sweatshirt for her bestie & decided later she'd like one for herself and a friend. While making our final choices a woman took a sweatshirt to the counter and requested a print. When the owner began to explain that the sweatshirt would be more with a custom print she was short and told him her husband would pay for it and he printed the shirt. When he went to ring up the sale though, she told him that the price was too expensive and tossed the sweatshirt on the counter. She was rude and then sent her husband into the store and he proceeded to argue with the owner for a good 20 minutes. My daughter was shaken up by the whole interaction and while I could see that the owner was frustrated and upset, he handled the situation well. The man was loud and angry and rude and wouldn't leave the store when asked; there was honestly no pleasing the man in this moment. When he finally left the store, the owner seemed to recognize that the incident had really spooked my daughter. He personally helped her with the checkout process and remained professional throughout. My daughter and I are pleased with the quality of the sweatshirts she purchased and the sweatshirts my husband bought for our girls two years ago have held up well...one of the three has some minor pilling, but that's it. We follow the guidance they give in the store and wash in cold, inside out. Thumbs up! read more

What an awful experience to have at the end to a wonderful vacation. My husband and I went in here because I saw a sweater in the display window I wanted. Signs above the rack said everything was $29.99 which was similar to other surrounding shops. But lo and behold if you wanted a design it would need to be pressed on. Ok but the lady kept talking about random stuff and shouting to her daughter, while in between that she said it would be an additional cost for the decal and I said ok thinking it's probably $5-$10. As I looked around however I didn't see where these additional costs were listed. The costs were not listed next to the decals on the wall. Then she kept talking in circles, pushing for more decals (some I didn't know she was doing, she was to hard to understand between switching up the conversation and moving like a speed demon) and before I knew it the register said $84 for one sweater. I was so shocked I didn't know what to do except purchase the sweater since it was now custom made. I did not want an $84 sweater. This ate away at me so much I tried to return it the next day and they refused. This place is so bad the city of Macinac had a piece in their Town Crier saying they received numerous complaints about their price scamming. That was last year so I think they need to work a bit harder to fix that problem. read more

First off, if I could give this store 0 stars it would be that! This place is a total ripoff. Got 3 shirts for $307! That's after the "special discount" he supposedly gave us! Guy just kept saying prices and distracting and we thought he was just saying what the total wlpas after adding each shirt.. NOT PER SHIRT! When he said total we said we are not paying that for 3 shirts, where he proceeded to say we had to because he had already pressed them. That was a lie! We only found that out later. We had not signed anything up til that point so we still had the right to refuse. Under no circumstances should anyone buy anything from this crappy place. To lie and cheat someone to make a sale is pathetic. This place should not even still be in business! Will be making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau! There are other stores that do the same exact designs for less than HALF of what they charged! Went to another shop and a nice gentleman told us we could have gotten all 3 of those shirts for $112!
