I had an electrical issue with my outside lights and was assigned FPL Home services through my HomeServe policy. Got a same day appointment, Neil, the electrician, arrived on time and ready to get to work. He put my mind at ease and said he'd take care of the problem and he did. He worked hard for over an hour outside and when he was done everything was working great. Neil and his excellent work ethic and skills made what was otherwise a bad day into a good one. My father lived in Century Village condo community. I moved in with him 2 years ago. The condo association takes care of exterior utility issues in conjunction with the city as far as I know. Dad passed away in February 2024. However, FPL Home sent 3 solicitation letters to his attention this past summer. One such letter invited recipients to call a toll free number if you wish to be removed from the mailing list. I called the number. A man with a thick accent answered. I asked for them to remove my late father from the mailing list. The man said he is with Home Serve USA Repair Management Corporation, not FPL Home. He requested my father's name and address. I tried to tell him. The guy took 5 minutes to understand me. Then he claimed he couldn't find an "account" for my father. I told him I was holding 3 letters in my hand from his company addressed to my father so they obviously have information on him. The guy requested my phone number to "create an account." I refused to give him my number. I asked for his supervisor. He initially declined. He agreed after I threatened further action. He placed me on hold. I hung up after waiting 5 minutes. On September 7, I mailed a "cease and desist" letter to Home Serve USA. I warned that I would post a negative review here if they or their contractor or subsidiary solicited my late father again. Terrible customer service. I have asked Paul several times to speak with his supervisor as I have been with a broken unit for 4 weeks with no date for repair. All I get is waiting for tracking the part is in new Mexico. Literally the run around for a coil on a unit that is barely 2 years old. The initial process was simple, but if you need warranty work done you are pretty much out of luck. At this point I regret ever going through them to replace my unit. I have installed a surge protector from FPL Home since January 2024 and am being charged $20 per month since then for this service. This April, I went on vacation and came home to a number of my circuit breakers being popped, including the one for my refrigerator. As all ice had melted, it was clear all food in my refrigerator and freezer had to be tossed. When I called FPL home, the first person said they would cover my losses even though I did not have receipts and he was sending me an e-mail to file a claim. When I received this, I realized the form was only for damage to an appliance, and no place to claim for food. I called again and was told they do not cover food loss. Could have/would have/should have waited to see how the new owner HomeServe Skilled Trades LLC of Norwalk, CT runs the place, before I renewed my so-called Platinum Membership with FPL Home Services, formerly Jupiter-Tequesta in December 2022 for $239.40. I paid $4,560 for a Carrier split system in 2019 from Jupiter-Tequesta. I had sold residential air conditioning before; my concerns were fitting the air handler into my condo closet, and competent installation. They did okay, but a few adjustments were needed. Then FPL Home Services took over, and the techs seemed happy. A challenge has always been attracting and keeping good people. My employer has allowed me to work remotely from home since March 2020, which allows me to be home when techs or repair people come into my home, which is a very good thing. The last tune-up of 2022 was really upsetting. Their tech came to work unprepared to work: he borrowed our extension cord, plugged his charging unit into a wall socket in my son's bathroom without asking. Even though I told him I was working on the computer, on the phone, he interrupted me 3X to try to sell me something. He wanted to pull the air handler out of the closet, take the coils outside and clean them for $600. No. Then he proposed cleaning them, but with a tool he coincidentally did not have with him for $200. NO. Then a pan treatment for $40. NO! I complained and told Dwayne, the manager (?) not to send this person back to my home. Last week I had one of their electricians out to change out 2 hall ceiling light fixtures, which I provided, which took about 30 minutes: $267.00, and that was with the $50 promotional discount. I asked the tech if he was sure, and he said yes. I got a copy of the invoice which showed a $129.00 service charge for after hours --- when it was 8:30 am during the week. I complained. Anyhow, it became a case of pass-the-buck from Dwayne to Wendell (the supervisor?). They increased their prices, just did not tell me in advance (lack of full disclosure or notice). I asked for the $89 charge instead as a Platinum Member, only to be told I was only a Platinum Member for their air conditioning service, not electrician work or plumbing! This will be my last year with this company, no matter what their name. They can keep the extra $40 because they obviously need it more than keeping a customer, and I will go elsewhere for electrical work and plumbing. read more

2+ years ago, FPL Jupiter-Tequesta urged me to purchase a Daiken AC unit when mine had expired, emphasizing the 12 year warrenty on parts and labor. Last month, a major part failed and needed to be replaced. The worker said they had been having trouble with this part, that it had to be ordered, and in the meantime he needed to fill the current unit with freon to hopefully get me enough cooling until replacement could be achieved. Cost: $624. What, I asked, was the high cost for? Response was: To cover the freon and, get this, to order and receive the replacement part. Installation would be covered under labor. Therefore, when they said parts were covered, they failed to inform me that a relatively high charge will require payment to order and ship it! Even on a part not 3 years old. I am deeply disappointed in this company and will look elsewhere for AC service, while still holding them to their contractual obligations regarding the Daiken AC I bought. read more

Talk about going downhill and then into the toilet! FPL Home Services installed my whole house generator several years ago and used to provide great service. Now that this FPL unit has been sold off to XtraMile Cooling Plumbing Electric, I have had to wait many, many weeks for a service call without a functioning generator. Service began a slide in very recent years when the generator service unit was called FPL ReadiPower. Now that it is XtraMile, quality has gone off a cliff and I can't get a return call or email and as noted before, you can wait many many weeks for service. While most technicians are good, office folks & dispatch/scheduling are not in the business of providing good customer service. AVOID THEM! read more

Call them "the technician should be there between 3:30 and 5:30". Should??? And that famous "1hour guarantee "? There isnt one. They lie at every turn. Service tech said we'd need a new condenser coil on our 3.5 year old AC they installed. It was under warranty so I'd only have to pay for the service call, prepay the warranty repair fee and top up of refrigerant to keep the unit working until the part arrived in 1-2 weeks. That was just under $600. Here I am 10 days later and the part has no ETA. The unit stopped functioning all together after 5 days from the initial service call. I have called in 4 times, each call was promised a call back in a "little bit" with an update (no one ever called me). I was ecstatic after my second call where they confirmed they had tracking information showing the part would arrive in 2 days. I called the morning the part was to be delivered and said I would need emergency weekend service for the install and to let the scheduling team know to call me ASAP. As I had not heard anything by 4:30 I had to call back again to find out that there was no ETA on my replacement part and they had no idea what I was talking about (lesson learned- record conversations when talking to them because they are REALLY comfortable with lying). My last call they offered to have a manager call me in 24-48 hours. I clarified that is actually business hours, so I might get a call as early as Monday. We shall see. In the meantime I'll be sitting in my 92 degree house as I as I work from home and am unable to log into the required VPN from any other location. BTW the reason we got a new unit installed in the first place 3.5 years ago was b/c they assured me that it was a brand they had a close relationship with and that parts were typically on hand or had very short order times which would minimize downtime if anything were to go wrong. There is nothing more dreadful than your AC system breaking down on a Sunday night. We tried from 9:30 pm until 2:00 am to get it running but to no avail. I've used Jupiter-Tequesta Air before so went to look up their number so as to call them first thing in the morning. But, wait! I see that they're open 24/7! So I call expecting an answering service, but instead, I get Aaron, and he's empathetic and amazing and sets me up for an early morning appointment. Promptly I get a call around 8:10 this morning from Gary, telling me help is on the way. He's smart, courteous and gave me the bad news that our system was pretty much dead. UGH! There goes the house painting and pool re-surfacing projects. Gary asks me some more questions and finds the suitable system with 0% financing for 60 months! He made the whole process easy, he diffused my stress and came up with a solution that worked for us. Gary B. Is a rock star! It takes knowledge and great interpersonal skills to turn a nightmare situation into a pleasant one. Thank you Jupiter-Tequesta Air for the amazing service. No-one likes bad surprises, but it's nice to know there is a company out there who understands that and I just used Jupiter Tequesta again for a nasty water pipe break in a really tough spot. James was so incredibly polite, professional and worked increasingly hard to fix the pipe. The break was in a very difficult position to get to since it was in between the upstairs and downstairs and in a closet. This didn't stop James- he worked tirelessly until it was patched. Bought whole house generator from them. Probably overpaid by few thousand dollars. A few months after installation a faulty regulator installed by them allowed 450 gallons of propane to leak into the air. Cost us almost $1800 to replace. FPL Home Services denies any responsibility. Refuses to reimburse us for the leaked propane and has the nerve to say it's our fault we should have spotted the leaking gas. Their even billing us for the faulty regulator. Let's see... When I called for an urgent repair, the technician said, "...glad you called, your semi-annual visit under your Platinum Service Plan is way overdue." I asked why no one called me months ago to schedule it and the technician said, "...we are a big company and things fall thru the cracks" When I asked for a 24-hour service repair required under my Platinum Service Plan, the agent suggested 4+ weeks out saying we are busy. I paid $60/month for no service! So I called a competitor on Friday night and they were at my home 1 pm on Saturday and fixed everything efficiently. I called Jupiter Tequesta today and withdrew as a customer and contacted my credit card company for many months of disputed monthly charges. Gave written estimate for plumbing work, I accepted, scheduled. Day of appt, I was told couldn't do all things on estimate as estimator had promised work...that couldn't be done.... AND low-balled it!!! ME-O.K. just do what you can...FPLHS-..."we won't charge you the other stuff". (ME-No kidding) End of day, I owed exactly $675 for work completed, per contract. They were responsive to schedule, on time, and professional. 3 weeks ago I had my 6 month scheduled maintenance on an air conditioner I purchased from them 14 months ago. Supposedly all was well and everything was running as it should according to the technician. 3 weeks lates my 14 month old unit now has a hole in the outside condenser unit. Really? A unit that is barely past a year old that has been cooling fine all of a sudden now has an issue. Funny how this happened just 3 weeks after someone was here working on my unit. Not that it was bad enough with that but now they want to charge me a "warranty processing fee" of $249. What kind of scam is this? This fee covers picking up and delivery of my replacement part and then sending back the defective part to the manufacturer..... Really...That's your job. I have a 12 year parts and labor warranty and when the salesman was sitting in my dining room clearly stated that there were NO other fees other than the $39 evaluation fee. I was intentionally lied to and I want to warn others of their practices. I will be contacting the BBB and poring this to the 40 plus surrounding neighborhoods in my Neighborhood app. I could go on with a couple of other issues with them but I think this will give potential customers a look at the way I was scammed with lies and false promises. Update The work was finally completed yet for some reason they had to go to a parts store to get a part they didn't have. They knew whet they were fixing yet they didn't have the right part. Ever since FPL bought this family company, it has gotten worse and worse until just recently the company screwed up so badly that I will never ever use them again. When my unit backed up I called as I am on a extended plan. The fellow sent out was dressed as a supervisor not a regular technician. He didn't test pressure, threw a couple of tablets in the tray and when I asked if he got anything vacuumed from the line he said not much. Meanwhile the tray under the unit was filled with water and the line was completely blocked. When I asked if the UV light was working I was told yes and it's a cheap light. I said, "I bought it from you guys" and he just looked at me. Two days later the pipe blocks up and water is pouring out of the unit everywhere as I'm mopping up with towels in my attic. If it wasn't for my neighbor who is an AC man things would have gotten bad. It was late at night and he came over and blew out the line and I took pictures of what was blocking the pipe. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! When I called I was told they don't come out this far after hours. They had no trouble taking my money and guaranteeing 24/7. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! I cannot begin to express my dissatisfaction with this company. I hired their services to address a leaking water heater about 2 weeks ago. It is worth noting that the plumber himself was very prompt, courteous, and professional. However, during the first of two visits it took him to fix the issue he damaged my property. He was kind enough to admit to the damage and notified me that Jupiter-Tequesta would take ownership in the property damage and someone would contact me regarding repairs. The damage was done on Friday 8/2 so I allowed a few days to pass and for their offices to contact me about the damage repair. By Tuesday 8/6 I had still not received a call, so I contact them. When speaking with the receptionist she stated she was made aware of the damage by the plumber himself and that she would create an "issue ticket" and someone from their operations team would contact me. I asked as to when I could expect a call and she advised it would be in 48 hours - I gave them 72 and yet NO CALL! On Friday 8/9 (one week after the damage) I contacted their offices again and was disappointed to hear that not only was my "issue ticket" not processed but that the operations manager was unavailable and he would call me back but the receptionist advised me that I shouldn't expect a call this same day because he was busy - mind you I contacted them at 11am yet he was "too busy" with his entire day to contact me back same day. I again asked when a good time would be to call back so that I could be sure to speak to him. I was told they were not sure but that to "give him until Tuesday" - I gave him until Wednesday and called again. So today Wednesday 8/14 I contacted their offices for now the 3rd day and was once again told that no managers were available to speak to me. I was finally able to get a name of said "manager" and was told Devin E. was the office supervisor and that she would contact me back. I explained to the receptionist that I had heard that before from them and would much rather prefer to be given a time she would be available to speak. They stated she was standing nearby and would call in 10 minutes - I gave them 20! When I called back, they told me that Devin just left the office about 20 minutes ago (right after my last call one would assume) and they did not know when she would return. I was told they would leave a note on her desk as well as notify her when she returned in the office. I explained how frustrating this process has become - that both the plumber and the office is aware of the property damage done by their employee yet for some reason NO ONE will speak to me about repairs. I advised that I would continue to call every hour on the hour until I was able to speak to someone. The receptionist (different every time I call btw) assured me that I would receive a call back from Devin. I DID NOT! I continued to call not once, not twice but 4 more times over the course of 7 hours and each time all the managers and all the supervisors were all unavailable in "meetings". This is UNACCEPTABLE. As a company that has partnered with FP&L I am VERY disappointed and angry at how they are conducting business. There is NO question the damage was done, there is NO question their employee was at fault, yet there has been NO attempt to resolve the issue. I cannot express loud enough DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! Where do I go from here?!?! Guess my next steps are to have my property fixed at my own expense and sue them for damages!! read more

Dealing with this company was a COMEDY OF ERRORS!! I called for service, and the lady who answered the phone IMMEDIATELY tried to sell me a entire new system, even before a technician was even dispatched to come and diagnose our issue. When the technician did show up, he also seemed to be more of a salesman than interested in examining the issue we called him for. I seemed to know more about a/c than he did. When he came up with a "theory" of the problem, we were informed that he did not have the necessary refrigerant to charge the system. He told us he would have the company send another tech with the necessary refrigerant the next morning, so that we could get back up and running. Of course we heard nothing, and we had to reach out to them. After more confusion with appointment times, and more attempts at replacement quotes, we finally had a technician arrive, who alas was professional, and took the time to PROPERLY diagnose the problem, and rectify it. Signed up for a maintenance agreement contract. First time they came out to service the ac's it cost $900 to replace a coil. They came back for the second maintenance and it cost me $3,500. I wasn't having any problems with my ac's. Second visit the rep. told me I had mold in the ac unit and should install 4 Patriot Blue tubes each costing $765. and 2 Natures Home UV bulbs. each costing $194.65. I asked the tech. how much it would cost and he said he'll let me know after he completes the job. Stupid me for saying yes to this extra work that clearly didn't need to be done. My husband and I have been members of FPL Plumbing and Air-conditioning which is now under new ownership Xtra Mile Cooling....... They fixed our garbage disposal and Caulked out MB sink last month. I called yesterday about our toilet not working and the sink that they caulked and (I let dry for over 24 hours) is all cracked. The girl who answered the phone told me we will be charged again for the caulking because it is over 30 days. I explained the sink was just done, I can't be charged again. It was 39 days ago. She was adamant that we will be charged. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said there's no one there who can help me. As I became increasingly upset, she kept telling me there's no one there to help me and she will submit my complaint to Customer Service. I told her I need to speak to someone now. She transferred me to Manager of Plumbing who confirmed I will be charged but they will come out and look at my sink. There may be another problem with the sink and I will be charged for that too. I asked to be transferred to her supervisor and she told me she doesn't know how to transfer a call. I asked her to leave a message for the overall manager, who has yet to return my call. I mentioned we will cancel our membership and she said our membership just expired November 30th. I aked why we didn't receive notice about this, she claimed she doesn't know. The actual tech's that came to my house were OK, seemed like nice enough guys any way. Got right to work and did what they were supposed to do. From there is has been ALL DOWN HILL! People on the other end of the phone, so far, are all but completely incompetent. I've been on the phone with them several times over the last 2 weeks, nobody would give me a straight answer, every time I asked to speak with a supervisor, they were all in meetings. I'm talking multiple calls in a day and calls almost daily, all supervisors were always in a meeting. Wow, I wonder how they get anything done. The person on the phone always promise a call back, got 1 call in two weeks (While I was on a work call), when I called back, yep you guessed it, she was in a meeting. After more close to 15 calls to them, I was finally offered today, the option of filing a formal complaint, which I did. I was again promised a call back on my complaint "Today or tomorrow", I'm not holding my breath. They refused to give me an itemized invoice. The first one they gave me was for 1 unit of labor only. The person I spoke with today was the first to give me any type of answer on why my bill was so high: "We charge by the job not by the hour". There were 2 guys at my house for less than 2 hours, which I have docs on the exact times the arrived and where done. One guy spent most of his time holding the ladder for the other guy while he was in the attic doing the work. Based on my bill their hourly rate is over $265 per hour per person. I've reached out to other places and am getting estimates for the same job for less than $500, all of them with much higher ratings here on Yelp and everywhere else I look. I might be a little too soon in my review. I stayed home from work because I have an invisible leak. They sent someone out who I assumed was going to do leak detection but he didn't. When I opened the front door to greet him, he stared at me so I asked "are you going to be dogging?". He stated he didn't know why he was st my home and for me to tell him. He just looked around inside like I had already done. He may not have been an actual plumber because he was trying to open a fence that was purposefully and visibly blocked because I have small pets. He also insisted my jacuzzi might be running even though I clearly don't have one. Then he said he would schedule leak detection, and I thought that's why I sat around this morning. So, basically I stayed home and didn't have my problem sorted out...yet. Now I will note that this is going through home serve water line protection offered by FPL I will update my review of things change for the better, or worse. So I guess my problem isn't in Jupiter Tequestas hands but they horribly dropped the ball. Dropping to one star. read more

High prices and jobs not done right. A few years ago they sold be a Nest thermostat but installed it wrong Last February the sold me a new AC unit and the install failed the city inspection. They came out to fix the issues and found several bigger problems. In January the plumbers came in the clear a clogged kitchen drain. Reading the recent review before mine "I was referred by a Realtor". I'm a Realtor and referred JT to my client who requested them to clean the air handler in the attic. She inherited the home, was in town briefly checking on the renovations and the service man came down from the attic saying he "cleaned it" and it was ready to be replaced although currently operating. Great, a couple weeks later a home inspector checked the a/c in the attic and found black mold on the outside. The buyer canceled their purchase. Calling Jupiter Tequesta A/C Jan's response was "not our problem" "not what we were hired to do" I'm confused. So a professional visually sees mold on the outside of the A/C. Was hired to clean it and it wasn't his responsibility because he was just supposed to clean the "inside". OK I stood right there as he tried to sell my client a new a/c system. NO mention of the mold on the outside and that she should have that taken care of. For sale sign on the lawn. Shook his hand introduced myself as the Realtor. What are your thoughts? I say #Fail and to say #not their problem. I sent them photos and the text of the buyer canceling because of the mold and the home inspection. Worst service ever. This office is full of liars. They flat out denied service on my AC . The refused to repair it or replace it. They insisted the AC was working when it never reached temperatures below 80 degrees. I have been without AC for almost 2 months . FPL should not let them use their name to deceive people. I have to say this has been a disgusting experience . Why their employees would want to work for a company that makes them lie all day long. There are better ways to make money . No one could pay me enough to lie all day . What a sad state of employment and service . read more

The Worst a/c company, DO NOT USE. They lie about everything. Use scare tactics (black mold) to con you into buying a new unit. They lie about rebates and charge you almost double what other companies charge. They don't make good on their word. Never recommend!! read more

They sent some scumbag named Mike who took one look at my dogs (who were secured behind a large gate that is drilled into the wall) and said no I'm not doing it.
