This is our second new AC. Jupiter-Tequesta did a good job putting it up on our roof this past summer. Beginning in December, when the AC turned to heat for a couple of days, it would cut out, leaving us without heat at night. JT has sent out at least five people at different times to get it "fixed". Each time it worked for a short time then the same thing would happen. They did finally get it really fixed. I hope. We just had them come out again to take some things off, for a new roof, and then back on again. They were great and handled a couple of glitches well. Why the five stars? Service and commitment! I felt like I had an army of helpers every time there was an issue. Anyone can put an AC up but, finding a company that stands by its product like JT does, is five stars in my book. read more

Bought a AC unit from them 15 months ago in the past month have had them several times to repair it, under warranty the problem is the labor is not under Warranty. Every time a technician comes who is different, it's a different problem. With a different labor charge. Today they wanted to charge me almost $800 for a part they already replaced, but they claim the charge was for a extra part needed REALLY!! As of today I have cancelled all their services. Buyer beware! Started with a service call on November 18th, 2020 for my a 8 yr old Rheem HVAC unit. On November 20th, 2020 ended up purchasing a unit that was supposed to be a very quiet HVAC to replace my Rheem. I requested a very quiet unit, Amongst many things that are wrong, some of my issues are the units were supposed to be Carrier. The techs installed a very, very noisy Bryant handler (as mentioned by the tech is now merged with Carrier) inside the house and an even noisier unit outside with a removable plastic tag saying it is a Carrier brand unit. The outside condenser sounds like a noisy truck idling or a helicopter about to depart the heliport. These units must be the least expensive units but yet the cost was approximately $8000. Workmanship left a lot to be desired. I am still waiting for an itemized bill of what I paid for. The tech even labeled the handler in black marker which i am still puzzled to say the least as to why they placed graffiti on my unit. This handler unit is visible every time i enter my laundry room. Lousy plaster job, lose wires hanging precariously on the side, etc, etc. I have sent emails with pictures to Russell, the sales technician and have spoken to customer service regarding the itemized bill and regarding my issues and concerns. Was told by Russell via email that he was forwarding to his manager, Customer Service stated my concerns are noted on file but yet no call back, Unacceptable for this company that runs on the FPL logo and fame albeit unregulated. read more

Following Hurricane Irma, I called to have my AC unit looked at. I was told the main board and fan had burned out. I was told it would probably be several thousand dollars. That I should call my insurance company and see if they would pay for a new one. Thankfully, my nephew suggested that I get another opinion, which I did. The HVAC technician walked to the breaker box flipped the GFI pump switch and the AC is working perfectly. Do I ever feel duped by Jupiter-Tequesta. It isn't even the fact that I paid them $89.00 for nothing. It is the fact that their HVAN tech didn't even try to solve my problem. All he wanted to do was sell me on a new unit. Shame on this company. If the technicians were not paid by commission they might be more willing to work for a dollar. I know they have a contract with Home Depot. 4 days ago I had Brian come out to give me a quote on my line set repair. He said his manager wants to see the job and would be out today. They both arrived and after viewing the work the manager decided to decline the business. This was surprising to me because they came recommended from my condo maintenance man and have done similar work in my complex before. What is my lesson to be learned? I do not recommend this company at all. My husband and I recently moved into our new home and had requested for the waters to be tested since it was blue to now dark blue water. Our concern was that our baby was bathing in this water and we wanted to know if the water was harmful. Alex, the Tech came out and ran the test and recommended that we put in the Halo system ($4K) so we could have good water. A week later we still have not rep'd our results. But we did get the water filter halo quote the next day. I called the office and spoke to the Rep and asked to speak to Alex's supervise in which the Rep told me Craig is not available and is not even in the system to receive calls. We were already charged the higher amount. Sam ignored our calls and text. When he finally called us back he was rude and the utmost unprofessional. AC unit was not working properly, called and two days later prior to them responding it was working. They charged 90 dollars to tell me "it is working" and "needs to be replaced". Quoted 5800.00. Unit goes out again and once again they charge 90 dollars, don't do a thing, tell me to replace it and leave. Called a family friend Nelson, he came out, advised my unit has several more years to go. I contacted this company about fixing or replacing a. Tankless hot water heater. I was told it would cost $235 to replace the element or $2700 for a new unit ( I could buy a new unit from amazon for $600. I choose to replace the element. The technician did not order the part for 20 days. I waited nearly 6 week for the part to arrive and the technician to return. I had to call to find out the status of my repair and never received a single call from them. When he got hear I was informed the the repair would be over $500 ( again a new unit only cost $600). Obviously I asked him to leave. I call their competitor. They were here within 1 1/2 hour and three hours later i had a new unit completely installed. I called FPL to get an estimate for back-up generator installation. The guy arrived, took some notes on my utility boxes, then suggested a layout requiring me to have someone drill under my driveway for a gas line. I had to come up with a less costly layout! He entered, then marked a form that listed my appliances. He spent 10 full minutes showing me photos (dozens of 'em) of his dogs. THEN, he spent another 15 minutes showing me dog-eared 8" x 11" photos of a Maine family cabin!. The pics were on his clipboard, clearly used as part of his shtick! I had to adjourn the photo fest, and he left me with nothing; no literature, no estimate. I corrected my email on his form, and have been waiting for an estimate for 3 weeks. Nada. read more

Whatever you do, do not use this company for anything. I spent $10,768 on a new A/C install and new ductwork, and thousands more to clean up the mess they made. I was lied to by their salesman (Steve Nagy). I was charged for work that wasn't complete. I was promised that the issue would be resolved and then never received any calls. I spent days reviewing quotes and options from various AC companies, but decided to go with the "big company" to get what I thought would be a guarantee of service. Nothing they did was up to code. They left holes in my ceiling and exposed flex duct. I paid $475 for a return that was never installed. In fact it was left completely exposed and unfinished in the attic. Even their A/C crew informed me that the company is a fraud and 90% of the customers they deal with are unsatisfied, with most of them being irate. I guess the one thing they do well is manage their online reputation, because there is no way that they should be averaging 3 stars on any platform with the stories i've heard. I'm looking forward to a response from one of their marketing people, I'm sure it will go something like "it says in the estimate we are not responsible for refinishing drywall work". FPLHS (Florida Juno/Riviera/WPB) estimated kitchen plumbing job. All appliances were on-site, 10 ft wall was clear so he could see how/where project would work. After an hour of detailed discussion, he produced an email estimate of 7 'tasks' @ $225 each ('discount' calculated). I made the appointment that day. When plumbers showed up, much discussion ensued regarding the job; i.e. what couldn't be done-4 tasks!!! They contacted the office (in their truck). Came back and insured that I would not pay for what they didn't do. (Of course). The lead plumber told me later that estimator "seriously underbid this"...awkward cause he was the lead's assistant. They completed 3 tasks=$675. When done, he produced a 'new invoice' that charged me $1000 MORE (!!!) He said for 'additional work and labor'. He became agitated when I objected. I'm female and live alone so I finally paid...to fight another day. Spent 5 hours over 4 days talking to CS, Maggie Clairvoyant. 'Here's $200 for your issues'. NO. BBB complaint-same response. Contacted Attorney General's office (several consumer divisions). Received response quickly AND my $1000 refund in total. AG's office was terrific. And breach of contract is 1st year law school (and E-Z to read Florida Statutes). FPLHS sent a dismissive, patronizing letter ("Final Response") to BBB and AG characterizing job site as missing components and me 'not' understanding the 'issues'...in-person, on MY jobsite! I wrote 1 additional, carefully edited (just the facts-MY version had not changed) response to their continual false narrative and requested it to be included in their files. I sent a copy to the local FPLHS, THEIR masters (FPL), AG, BBB, and Next Era Energy (FPL ownership). 1) I would NOT be 'taxed'/penalized for their poor training and hiring practices regarding the estimator. 2) They had 4 days to review the estimate before work started. Further, they were informed that A.M. by phone to the 'issues'. Even FURTHER, they have a Term & Condition (#15) on our (the ONLY) estimate/contract that allowed them to end/cease/withdraw all work and obligation FOR ANY REASON. 3) They did none of that. Instead of admitting a mistake and earnestly trying to rectify and appease (and retain) a good-faith client........ FPLHS decided to attempt to shake me down like a grifter in a parking lot. They lost. But not before they tried Gaslighting 101. Amateurish and weak bullying. Changing the narrative, never addressing the facts, talking in circles. Don't get emo, stick to timeline and facts, and do the math for them...meaning their 'discounts' at the end of their estimates are NOT-just factor it in yourself, they won't 'show' their 'work'...for a reason. He said the first tech djdnt clean coils correctly. They need to be taken out and cleaned. $300 later.leak still there. Third tech came. Took thi gs apart and said there was water stuck in corner of pan that was overflowing. Leak still there.had another company out. Was told curb was rusting and the seal at botton of unit was bad . Actually Zero Stars.. In July I ordered 4 filters from them. It's October & I still don't have my filters. Last week I got a call telling me my filter were in, I made an appointment, I wasn't home, my son was. When I came home from work, there were no filters. So I called. I was told the tech left them, he did not leave them, I have made several calls to get this resolved, every time I call I get an apology, & then they actually go further & lie to me. A different story every time I call. They promise to return my call to get this resolved. No phone calls, no resolution. 1st they said they were delivered, then they said they had to check with the manufacturer, then they said they received the wrong filters & again they are sorry. So I still don't have my filters, but you can be sure they have had my money since July. Nothing but lies. Beware of this company, the customer service is horrendous. While the part was covered under warranty we were charged $1300 for 1 hour of labor to replace the unit easily accessed from outside. Unacceptable!!! They tried to push me to do the job right away and even said that the new system was on the truck and on its way to my unit. These high-pressure tactics made me suspicious. I have mixed feelings about this company. 13 months ago, I spoke to a rep from Jupiter Tequesta Air at his stand at my Home Depot on Palm Beach Lakes. They came out to my house to see the trouble I was having with an 8-year-old a/c that was always freezing up on me and never hit below 74 in the summer. We ended up purchasing a new $5700 a/c from them. I was so happy for a whole year. 68 at night- no problems, and lower FPL bills amazingly! Then the pipe outside with the compressor turned to ice last week. Uh oh. I have multiple pets and lots of hair as a result, but I do change my filter weekly and am strict about it. I called and asked them to send someone out, but I said I was pretty sure it was the coil. That had always been the problem with my old unit. They did say a visit is $89- expensive, but I was still happy with them and figured I'd stay happy. The tech was a nice young guy, but basically it took him not very long to tell me it was the coil. $89 and there you go. I mean, really? Then when he told me what Jupiter Tequesta air charges to clean a coil, my whole image of company changed. I know it's not cheap, and my old unit used to cost me $350. I expected them to say the same, maybe $400. I have since called around and found $400 & $475 at 2 other companies. But Jupiter wants $800. What???????? Considering we bought this brand new 13 months ago and got screwed out of $89 last week for nothing... The upshot is I found a licensed company who will do it for $280. Guy coming tomorrow. Jupiter Tequesta needs to remember that the "hood" in West Palm Beach is not Jupiter Island. Really disappointed and really wishing I hadn't spent the $89 to merely confirm what I knew. I assumed the $89 would come off the coil clean price- many repair people do it that way, but I also assumed the coil cleaning wouldn't be the price of 2 plane tickets to Europe. Told us we needed refrigerant bc our air conditioner stopped working and froze (all we needed was a filter change that's why it froze) $200....Then they wanted to come back because they said we prob have a leak, which we then paid another $200 for, (we are at $400) they came out and of course told us we had a leak and it's not good etc etc which then tried to sell us $840 for the labor since the part was still under warranty! We called for a second option (Carl's - who I highly recommend) and of course there was nothing wrong with our air conditioner! They are a bunch of sales guys who take advantage of old people and those that know nothing about appliances and don't feel like dealing (like us) because these are our second homes and we just want to enjoy our time while down here! They have been to the house numerous times and have done nothing because they have ordered the wrong part. This is very unprofessional and unreliable. They keep coming out to repair the same problems and are charging us a "handling fee" that is a made up fee that only went into effect once J-T was bought by FPL. We have a contract saying there would be no out if pocket expenses and there are every time they come out which is frequently. They do not stand by their work. Horrible communication, not to be trusted!! I received a post card in the mail offering $29.99 per air duct for cleaning. I called them up, and they told me that they would need to send a tech to give me an estimate. I asked them why they would need to do that when it clearly states on the card what the offer is. Her response to me was "they need to count the duct"....I told her that I live in 800 square feet, and I know that there are only two. So, the price should be around $60 plus taxes, etc. The rep agreed with me, but said that they still need to send someone, and normally there would be a charge of $89 for that service, but they are waiving it as part of the special. So, I made the appointment for that Tuesday between the hours of 10-12. They called me the day before to confirm. Tuesday comes rolling along, and I get a call from the tech asking me if I had a balcony, to which I replied no, not all of the condo's have balconies. His reply was "that's a BIG RED FLAG!" I asked him why, and he told me that they would need to vent the smell, chemicals, etc. and suggested Stanley Steamer!! I then called FP&L back, and told them the situation. This time the rep told me that they don't service condo's or apartments!!! I asked her why that wasn't mentioned to me from my very first call to them. She had no answer, only apologized. I told her that when I signed up for the service, I gave them my address which included my condo number...wouldn't that have been a "RED FLAG" to them right then and there?? Same again on Monday when they called to confirm the appointment. I gave them the unit number once again. So twice they had the opportunity to catch the mistake, but they didn't. I spoke to them yet again, and told them that they are false advertising, and why would the tech ask me if I had a balcony. He led me to believe that he would have been able to do the job if I had a balcony. At NO point in time was I asked if I lived in a house or a condo...a simple, normal question to ask when signing a customer up for this service. To sum it up, I was offered a complimentary "tune up" on my unit...which includes cleaning the air ducts!!! What!?!? I'm completely hesitant and leery to have them come over for fear that they may "find" something wrong with the system. No thank you!! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE AND FOLLOW UP I called last Wednesday to have my Ac checked as it is no longer blowing cold. Tech came out without a couple hours and determined there's a Freon leak in the condenser and he will find out if it's covered and ETA on parts. I was waiting on a phone call that day and the next day.. no call... Keep in mind my house is now at 90 deg and no one there seems to care.. I called that next day to be told that they have ordered the part but have no ETA. Fast forward to a week later no word from this company so I called and now the "ETA" is 4-5 weeks or maybe they can get the part from an aftermarket shop but they still can't figure it out. I suggested this AC company covers a whole unit as they cannot provide the parts needed. I got crickets and no feedback or phone cal from anyone in the office. Meanwhile I still have no AC in the hot Florida summer weather. Further more I spoke to them today and asked for a supervisor to call TODAY to find a solution to this issue and I am still waiting for that call... Don't do business with this company! read more

I called because my Generac generator wasn't functioning and Devin was of no help! I asked the receptionist (Rosa) to ask Devin to send out a tech since Devin wouldn't bother to get on the phone!!!!! She said she couldn't which was understandable! So I asked Rosa again since Devin wouldn't get on the phone or return my phone call to ask her to have a tech call me at least before this storm hits and she couldn't be bothered to do that! I had to call Generac to get someone to help me reset my generator to get it to function again. That is unacceptable and just pure laziness on Devins part!! She is suppose to be a manager at this company and won't even call a customer or try to help them and point them in the right direction in this time of need! Update: My AC unit went out October 30, 2019. I called this company since I have my generator through them and told them I needed emergency AC service. Excuses once again!!!!! There were no technicians available until the next day! I called another company and they were ready to send someone out within the hour!!!! I came home from work and my house was HOT! The A/C was not working. I called Jupiter Tequesta A/C and actually got a live friendly person on the other line. She said the tech would be out within a 2 hour time frame. The tech Rich was there before the 2 hr frame. Extremely knowledgable and friendly. Rich explained to me everything that was wrong with the unit. Gave me a price wihich was extremely reasonable for the time he had spent on the unit. I'd give Rich 5 stars alone!!! Every time there was an issue, they said i need to pay $89 for them to come out, even if I have warranty. So they sold me a maintenance contract so i wont have to pay the truck rolls, so today the AC broke yet again, there is a hole in the coil (3 year old unit BTW), and they said they need $249 for processing fee. Needed a simply wax seal replaced on a toilet. Called their call center and was told the repair wouldn't exceed the service call. When they got to my house they told me the repair would be an additional $200. I then wasted 30 minutes arguing when them on the phone. I am here to tell you all that I just met an AC angel by the name of Kevin Bell. I had been having trouble with my unit since I moved in a couple of months ago and had given money to two other companies who showed up, told me nothing was wrong, and then a couple of weeks later my AC would turn off and not turn back on again, leaving me in a vicious cycle of paying for temporary fixes. All of this changed tonight when Kevin the AC angel arrived at my home. I needed to replace an old air-conditioning unit in a condominium in PBG and was relatively happy with the options, pricing and installation by Jupiter-Tequesta. However, once the job was done and the county inspector came and denied a permit because of a couple of minor problems, I learned what a poorly run company this is. More than six months after trying to get someone to come out and address and fix the country inspector's concerns - including more than a half dozen phone calls and messages - I finally did something I've never done before: contact the Better Business Bureau to explain what I was going through. BBB contacted the business and, magically, I received both an email and phone call that day from the person who had not returned phone calls for months asking me when I would like to set up an appointment. She gave me a one-week window in August when someone from the company could come out--as a part-year resident I am not there in August but will have someone meet them to put this mistake behind me. They sold us a bum unit, a new and very expensive AC unit their salesman recommend but subsequently had to come out for service calls several times a month because the unit kept shutting down for no discernible reason. The old unit we replaced never had this problem. After more than 8 service calls I asked the tech what was causing it because it didn't seem normal for a new unit to have this many frequent issues. After blaming me and my kids for leaving a door open and then raising his voice and swearing at me, I told him to leave my home. I then called and complained to the "manager" Jason who put partial blame on me for upsetting his tech and then told me, "Then just fire us lady!" (which he knew I couldn't or I'd have to pay another company thousands to service the defective unit THEY installed). I recorded the call to play for my husband. He was livid and called back but no one ever returned his call. And the wonderful Jason never offered any form of apology. A few months later, sure enough the entire coil failed on our new unit and had to be replaced. Shortly after, we sold that home and are finally rid of the cancer that is Jupiter Tequesta. read more

After servicing my AC unit tech told me I was low on Freon and charged $300 to add some. The system became ver noisy and I turned it off. I called another firm that determined I probably did not need any Freon, and that the wrong kind was added. To fix this would require so much work I was told to consider replacement. I called J-T who sent a second tech who spent most of the day fixing my unit at no charge. I never got the $300 refunded. read more
