It has been decades since I have shopped at Tanger Outlets. My last visit to a Tanger Outlets…read moreCenter was Riverhead, NY (Long Island) circa 2004 with my former love which a fairly good size and contain a lot of stores. This Tanger is located Route 30 (East or West) on Lincoln Highway. This Tanger Outlets in Lancaster, PA is not a huge outlet mall, as noted accurately by fellow Yelper Dave L. There are high-end stores as Brooks Brothers, Movado, Kate Spade, Ann Taylor. Tanger is equipped with parking, and restroom facilities. Facilities are relatively clean. The store directory is obscured but my party walked to circle the grounds. There is also a printed store directory for grabs. Again, upon exiting the car the air had a high functioning stench of horse manure to heaven! The noisome odor emanating from the nearby unseen horse stables made it difficult for my party to enjoy the shopping experience, amid the dangerous excessive heat wave of Independence Day 2026 holiday weekend. We were among the Amish in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

The parking lot can get very crowded and it's hard to walk between all the stores because of the layout, though you definitely could it would just take a long time. The selection in the stores was decent and service was fine, I wouldn't say it's just a pretty typical outlet mall experience.

There was a family who brought their dog in - I love dogs - I have a dog so I'm not anti dog but I do not appreciate people disobeying rules and bringing dogs in that are not service dogs. What was even more awful about this interaction was the family it was like 4 grown adults all crowded onto the bench I was using and put their dog on the bench behind me ! Like directly behind me. I don't know if their dog is reactive they don't know if I'm allergic- it was utterly rude and I would have appreciated the staff stepping in to say something. The people laughed and apologized but as I got up to walk around in my shoes my stuff clearly still on the bench, they completely took over the entire bench and I had to yank my stuff away. I didn't look at anything else in the store I immediately wanted to leave. The line was long we got there at store opening and there was a mad rush of people to get in. I did walk away with two pairs of shoes which was the goal. I was asked about my account I wasn't sure what my brothers info was for his and the employee didn't press for any more info , not telling me if there was any benefit to linking my account. He placed the receipt on top of the boxes in the bag which blew away when I walked out because the boxes were sticking out. Overall, not my favorite experience. Luckily I did walk away with two good pairs of shoes.

I often find treasures that I can then gift, or add to our children's library. I've bought many, many books here. Sadly, the store is often dirty. And then often the book section is an exaggerated state of disarray. The books in front are all placed forward facing, blocking all the books behind them like a mean little fence. I thought there was a crazy person coming to the store doing this, but no, it's the store staff. Apparently the only solution to overstock is to stuff the books in wherever and who cares about how the customer will experience that. Any child who comes to peruse can't move a book without the potential of a avalanche of books collapsing forward. There is no rhyme or reason for the state of the book sections, all I know is that sorting books vertically with the titles facing outward can't be that hard. The employees are always operating at the minimum status, often not saying a word to us at check out, besides "here's your receipt". I probably won't ever return, simply because it's obvious the owner or manager or whoever does not seem to care about the way customers will experience their store or the experiences they will have in the store. Why support a business that seemingly just doesn't care?
