Really could (should?) be called war musuem. Here you will find a wealth of information and dozens…read moreof tanks and a handful of planes all wartime related. There's even a handful that are one of a kind and only displayed here. There's also a couple videos/presentations available to watch. So there's ample information in what is a relatively small space. There are staff milling around throught the musuem, so if you have questions you won't have to go far. I think during the summer they even offer rides in tanks for an added fee. The musuem takes about 1.5 hours to complete and you can save a couple bucks if you buy your ticket online, and its also good for any non-special event day, so you don't even have to use it that day. The driveway is also about 3/4 of a mile long, so its pretty far off the road. Overall it was as fun way to spend a couple hours inside on a raw rainy early spring day.

Without the library pass, we would not have visited and a visit would not have been worth the full price for us based off what we saw during our time there. The EcoTarium main exhibits has some great interactive parts for children. Our favorites were in the third floor, building bridges, watching rats run on a wheel, looking at various rocks, etc. The bottom floor which holds musical instruments from many different countries and an indoor gym play area was fun to explore as well. This floor leads out to a dinosaur statue mini park where you can eat snacks, see other animals, check out the cafe and walk down to the train station and outdoor playground and sand station. I was surprised you needed to pay extra ($7) to ride the train. The tickets are expensive enough to pay extra on top of that seems greedy. But, we were grateful to have free access to the outdoor playground which our kids loved - especially the mud kitchen!

As a Trustee member, I am so happy that this park is included on my membership. I enjoy walking…read morearound and exploring the sculptures and going for a walk. You might want to make sure that they are open for regular hours before heading out there. There was one time we drove there and were informed that they were closing early because of a wedding was taking place. We weren't even allowed to do a quick drive around although they were closing in an hour and there were many visitors around. Lesson learned and I planned ahead by checking their website for future visits.

You pay your entrance fee, park your car, get your map from the giftshop and your off to explore the grounds and the art it contains. We spent about 2 hours wandering and it was such a fantastic experience. Im glad the items were tagged so we could learn more about each piece and the artist. The pictures just dont do justice to the beauty, serenity and scope of the grounds. The staff was very friendly. There is a small gift shop and café on the grounds. It never felt crowded. Free Art museum at Wellesley?? Yes please!…read more Davis museum is a quaint little museum tucked inside the Wellesley campus. VERY limited parking (Guestimate: enough for 6 cars.) Clean, modern. White walls, cement stairs and an elevator. They have a Monet! I only has 20 minutes to quickly wander and take in a little art. I quickly asked the guys at the check in deck and one offered to take us around. He started with showing us numbered/limited edition prints of Keith Herring and Picasso. Then he took us to Monet. After Monet, we just wandered, quickly. I got to walk by each piece and I loved the column/stained glass room. Overall, a great little place to visit.

I spent an hour watching Gordon Matta-Clark videos. Very cool! My favorite part was to see some of the belt driven machinery actually work. We had visited the day after a person had come and replaced some of the belts. We were able to see a belt driven (automated) saw cut through a chunk of metal. It was an impromptu demo as we were walking around the the staff member saw us examining this particular piece of equipment (with our eyes of course). And he started it up for us. Again...staff is really enthusiastic and engaging. We also got to see where they do hands on workshops, where kids can design and print things in 3D, which is pretty cool. They had a nice even space as well for smaller weddings/events. Easy parking (pay) in a nearby garage and a easy walk across the bridge/walkway to get to the museum. If this type of history interests you, I would definitely recommend you stopping by. We were there for a couple of hours and throughly enjoyed the staff showing us around. Cute gift shop as well.

I'm embarrassed to say that I've worked over a decade in this area of Waltham and have never…read morerealized this hidden gem of a historical museum existed. The guys working the front desk are super knowledgeable, funny, helpful and nice. One of them was kind enough to give us a brief intro when we first arrived. They can totally geek out on all sorts of interesting facts, which I live to absorb. Still, I wish I had planned it in advance so we could have a formal tour because there's so much to see. Before coming here I had no idea that Massachusetts held such a rich industrial heritage. We spent two hours exploring the two story museum. There were plenty of interactive exhibits (great for the kiddos and adults) and each time we looped around the museum we found something else we missed the first time going through. This place is a haven especially for those who are interested in history and engineering. They had antique bikes, wooden cars, steam fire engines, watchmaking tools, belt driven machines, typography machines, horse drawn fire truck, and even a phone booth! They also do a great job of mixing in some modern and new exhibits (e.g., we saw whimsical puppetry paintings by Tanya Harsch). The second floor also has a beautiful and grand ballroom space (perfect for corporate events or weddings). I can't wait to come back here. Whether you are local or from out of town I'd highly recommend a visit.
