I had a foot injury and was encouraged to make an appointment with Dr. Nazarian after finding her through my insurance company and reading the rave reviews here. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Nazarian turned out quite differently and very troubling. FWIW, my actual interaction with Dr. Nazarian in the exam was fine but what followed made this visit one of the most difficult and unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a doctor's practice. Dr. Nazarian is listed as in-network with my insurer. However, despite copying my insurance card, I was informed at my appointment that the practice is not participating with my insurance company and they would not even submit claims to them. They said they would instead provide me with fees equal to what my insurance co-pays would've been. That was quite odd and the first red flag. At the end of my appointment, I was asked to pay for a protective shoe that the staffer insisted would not be covered by my insurance. I had received the same type of item in the past due to a different injury and it was covered by insurance. So I advised the staffer to please file a claim for it with my insurance and I would cover the co-pay my insurance determined was applicable. What was more serious is that they insisted that the prescription they were providing to me for severe pain and swelling would not be covered by my insurance, would probably not be available locally, and then without my agreement, they sent my prescription to a mail-order pharmacy in Minnesota that they apparently have some sort of arrangement with. This was foisted upon me despite my providing in my intake papers the address and phone number of my local pharmacy (part of a national chain) where I wanted my prescriptions sent. I contacted Dr. Nazarian's office the next day to inform them that I paused the mail order pharmacy order since despite the doctor's and staff's insistence, my insurance company confirmed that the prescription was indeed covered and it was available at my local pharmacy. The cost at my pharmacy would be 1/3 of the mail order price and I could get it the same day to get relief from the pain and swelling sooner as opposed to waiting days for shipping. For 8 days I had to keep calling them to try and get them to send the prescription to my local pharmacy, but they wouldn't do it. One has to ask why. Finally, on the 8th day after my original appointment, though they continued insisting that my insurance probably wouldn't cover the prescription then offered a new argument that the prescription probably wouldn't go through at my local pharmacy even if they sent it there, they submitted the prescription to my pharmacy and it was of course covered by insurance, filled, and picked up that day. I went 8 days, experiencing pain and swelling without treatment for no reason other than I wanted my prescription sent to my local pharmacy. All of this was unethical. A doctor being in-network but then not honoring that insurance at the appointment and trying to make a patient pay for something that would likely be covered by insurance or at least provided at a reduced price to the patient. Secondly and more crucially, informing their patient that their insurance wouldn't cover a prescription when it did. They could have quickly confirmed it was covered as I did, but they didn't. What was their incentive for doing this? Then using that untruth to make a patient pay more for a prescription to the practice's favored mail order pharmacy instead of paying less at a local pharmacy of the patient's choosing? And to literally add insult to injury, unnecessarily causing a patient to suffer through days of pain without relief while having to wrestle with them for over a week just to get a prescription sent to their local pharmacy. I am bewildered by a practice that so clearly does not put the patient and their injuries first, provides misleading information to them, tries to take away their right to choose their own pharmacy, and resists cooperating with them for over a week on such a simple and standard thing. This being the case, I would recommend patients look elsewhere for a practice that puts patients' costs, choices, health, and well-being first. read more

Dr Nazarian has been a savior to me. I contracted an Infectious disease in my right foot summer of 2024. Have seen MANY foot doctors, who in my opinion only care about getting paid. Three different hospitals and 11 weeks IV therapy, and an initial amputation of part of a toe. Found Dr Nazerian who with her surgical skills had to remove the last part of the toe to stop any further spread of this disease. I thank the Universe fir sending me here, and the office staff are miracle workers! Everyone has made my visits comfortable and lovingly wonderful! When you need help with your feet, under any circumstance I really wouldn't recommend anyone other Dr. Francine Nazarian. She has offices in Tarzana, Sherman Oaks, and I believe other convient locations. I rate the services at 10 stars but this site only allows 5 stars read more

Dr. Francine Nazarian is the most considerate, competent, professional, kind, and highly-skilled doctor of podiatric medicine. She was highly-referred to me by a close friend and I have known several other friends to have spoken highly of her as well. She has been treating my plantar fasciitis and provided me with custom orthotics. Dr. Nazarian has a wonderful team who are always very eager to help provide any podiatry-related treatment during office visits. My healthcare insurance did not cover my expenses with Dr. Nazarian, but she ensured that my appointments would be affordable and fair. The very well-crafted custom orthotics were very well-priced too. Dr. Nazarian always makes herself readily available and she is the best advocate for anyone in need of podiatry assistance. Please be sure to visit her at her Sherman Oaks or Tarzana location if you live in the Los Angeles area! read more

Great doctor. Caring and thoughtful. Takes her time and explains everything. Highly recommend.

Dr. Nazarian is the best! I saw her for a painful foot issue. After a thorough exam, she explained what the problem was (plantar fasciitis) & a few assorted bunions and how to move forward for improvement. My foot continues to improve with physical therapy & potentially custom orthotics. It feels so good to walk relatively pain free thanks to Dr. Nazarian! Dr. Nazarian is so warm & compassionate & truly cares. She listens & answers all questions & you never feel rushed. She also has a great staff who are friendly & efficient! After working in the hospital setting for 25 years I knew Dr Nazarian had an excellent reputation. When I saw her for a broken bone in my foot she was very compassionate , patient and most importantly very competent in structuring an effective course of action to address the issue. She did a thorough evaluation, ordered Xrays, an Mri and gave several very helpful recommendations to address the issues(s) with my feet. She was also able to solicit additional consult with other physicians when bone cysts were identified and likely involved with my foot issues. She took the time to explain all issues with patience, share her expertise and provided minimally invasive surgery which is on track to be a great improvement. If you are looking for an excellent Podiatrist, I highly recommend Francine Nazarian. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Nazarian's office. Her team is so professional, experience & caring. In my case, I had a foot injury during a kickboxing class. At first, I did not know If I had a fracture or a sprain. I got my right foot hurt pretty bad with an instant pain. Even with her busy schedule, I was able to get an appointment to being seen right the way. What a blessing! After an exam, I had a x-ay taken, my right foot was mobilized & instruction given. The most impressive of all, Dr. Nazarian was so caring the entire time & really took her time to listen. Also, she is extremely gentle. On my follow up appointment, Dr. Nazarian discussed in details the finding in the x-ray and I started a laser therapy. After my second session, the results were unbelievable. The laser treatment is extremely effective. The pain, swelling & bruises decreased to minimum. I was not expecting such a fast result. It is really rare to find a doctor nowadays that really express such a care & attention every single visit. Thank you to Dr. Nazarian & her amazing assistants. You guys really care about your patients! read more

Dr. Nazarian is hands down the best physician I have ever had. I have never met a more compassionate, knowledgeable, patient, gifted, and all around phenomenal Doctor and human being. I came to Dr. Nazarian after I stepped on a needle, which was lodged in between my metatarsals. I was in immense pain. She was so attentive and did everything with such urgency. She fought for me to get into surgery at the hospital (which we all know how long that usually takes) to remove it quickly, and she performed the surgery flawlessly in the OR. I had weekly appointments with her following surgery and she got me back on my feet. She is a miracle worker and an all around amazing Podiatrist. read more

Dr. Nazarian is a miracle worker. I am an overweight woman who had painful plantar fasciitis. Dr. Nazarian is the first doctor who treated my symptoms with kindness and without blaming me for creating them. She gave me a shot in my foot and could tell I was going to faint, and carefully talked me down from the ledge. She taught me exercises to do with therapy balls and my feet have been happy ever since! Can't recommend her enough. read more

Dr Nazarian is probably one of the kindest, caring doctors I've ever been to. She listens to the problem and really cares about taking care of you. She never rushes you out of the room and will always try her best to fit you into her schedule. We first saw Dr Nazarian because my 10 year old was having awful pain in both of her heels. She had to stop playing soccer which was a HUGE disappointment for her. We saw Dr Nazarian and she recommended a special laser treatment that helps the inflammation and pain. The actual laser is completely painless and actually quite relaxing. Within one session my daughter felt a huge improvement, but wanted to keep going back because she loved the way it felt. We did a few more sessions (which Dr Nazarian keeps the price very low so it's affordable for everyone) and shockingly my daughter no longer complains of any pain. After my daughters experience, when I fractured and sprained my foot, I also saw Dr Nazarian to help me with my pain and inflammation. It helped tremendously and I am convinced the laser helped shorten the duration of time I needed to wear my boot. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr Nazarian. I not only feel like she's a fantastic doctor, but I feel she cares so much that I actually made a new friend. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend her to anyone looking for a podiatrist. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Nazarian for over a year to address my toe fungus and orthotic replacements. Dr. Nazarian is an OUTSTANDING foot doctor. She cleared up my fungus issues in about two months. I had previously owned a custom-molded orthotic that was very rough and hard on my feet. She custom-molded a soft orthotic that is the best pair I have ever owned as I've been using them for over 40 years. The orthotics fit perfectly in both dress and sneaker shoes. Dr. Nazarian is amazing, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. I had been suffering with tingling and swelling in my feet and ankles so I did a google search and saw good reviews about Dr. Nazarian. After two treatments with Dr. Nazarian I was able to walk without using crutches and the swelling and tingling improved. Dr. Nazarian has excellent bedside manners. Dr Nazarian is truly the best! She is the most professional doctor I have ever seen. She immediately found the best solutions for us after an attentive and thorough examination. Specifically, her laser treatment and the cooling wrap extensively helped my daughter. We saw results immediately. Dr. Nazarian is truly so kind, and even though her clinic is busy (which shows how desired she is as a professional) she never lets any patient wait for too long and she gives the most personal attention to each one. Her staff is super efficient and nice as well. My 20 year old daughter hurt her ankle recently and we waited 3 weeks before seeing a doctor. She used to have ankle injuries before as a soccer player and so we hoped this time she would similarly heal. However, her healing process was not what we hoped for and so we went to see Dr. Nazarian. After the first appointment we already saw an improvement. Truly the best experience! It is so refreshing to see a doctor who is so caring and passionate about helping their patients. So happy we found Dr. Nazarian. I whole heartedly recommend! read more

I am a runner who runs for stress relief. I also have little kids who constantly need to be chased after. So when plantar fasciitis made running, walking, and just every day movement unbearable, I was at a loss. I tried all the home remedies and nothing worked. I called a few doctors, many did not take insurance or were not helpful. A friend referred me to Dr. Nazarian. While her schedule is packed, she understood that I was in real pain, and squeezed me in right away. Her office staff are incredibly kind and helpful and work with you on scheduling that helps you. Dr. Nazarian is thoughtful, she listens, and intelligently gets to a diagnosis with a solution. I am now pain free and back to running and couldn't be happier - except for the fact that I won't be seeing her as much (bittersweet bc my pain is gone!). I had gotten so used to the pain that I don't think I realized how much pain I was in until she made it go away. Truly changed my daily life. read more
