First of all, they treat you to coffee or tea upon arrival (yum!) and Kylie really listened to me and gave me the exact cut I was after. Now, i've had very short hair for a very long time, and it is obvious when someone doesn't quite know what they're doing with my hair. In fact, I got my hair cut at a beauty school/training place for a few years, so I know what a bad cut looks like! I'm glad I did! I went from brown to blonde. The colour is even and is the shade I was looking for. Jessie cut my hair just as I asked and made sure I was happy before I left. She also gave me green tea and a little snack which I thought was a nice touch. Their prices are reasonable for a city salon. If I had to complain about something it would be that my visit took a long while - I was there almost 3 hours. But I can live with that ... providing I'm happy with the result :)

So I came in with another colleague, she is there for a haircut and I am there for eyebrow threading. The shopfront is only about 1.5 metres wide so it's easy to walk past or undermine this salon, but once you walk in you will find a long narrow salon with a separate area at the back and beautician of the house Rimi does her magic upstairs. The hairdresser listened to my friend's request and did a good job cutting and thin layering her super thick hair. She was told the story that this salon's specialty is hair extension and they love doing colours. My eyebrow threading+tinting was a lovely experience and both of us walked away happy and with a $20 voucher each for next visit. Friendly staff, lovely service, satisfied clients. If I didn't have to cross the bridge to get here, this will be my local salon.

With Sabrina in charge, 3 hours later my hair was transformed. No judgement from her just lovely kind and helpful comments. Voir Hair is refusing to refund the deposit. There was no clear, transparent explanation that the salon deposit was completely non-refundable regardless of notice. This feels like an unfair hair salon deposit policy. If you're booking at Voir Hair, be aware of their non refundable deposit and hair appointment cancellation policy before paying. I will be escalating this to Fair Trading VIC
