We contracted with Franey's Carpet One Floor and Home in 2017 and 2018 for installation of Armstrong Vivero flooring in our home. During the original installation in 2017, the floating-floor product we selected reportedly had manufacturing or fit issues, and we were advised to switch to a glue-down product. Before proceeding, we specifically raised concerns regarding installation over our concrete slab and an existing crack. Following preparation work on the slab, including filling the crack, we were assured that the slab condition was acceptable and that the crack would not become visible through the flooring. After approximately three years, the flooring began experiencing issues including crack showing, plank separation, and lifting. We contacted Franey's in 2021 regarding these concerns and met with a representative. We were told that nothing would be done regarding the crack and that we should call back if the loose planks became a "trip hazard." In September 2025, we again contacted Franey's. During that visit, a handheld moisture meter was used to check for possible moisture conditions. The company ultimately attributed the issues to foundation and moisture conditions and declined responsibility. We requested documentation related to the moisture readings, including recorded measurements and calibration information for the meter used. We were later informed that no formal report, recorded measurements, or calibration documentation existed. We made multiple efforts to resolve the matter directly and professionally, including reviewing the company's proposal and providing several counterproposals, including repair options, prorated replacement proposals, customer installation options, and refund requests. Although the current owner was willing to communicate, we were ultimately unable to reach a resolution. One statement from the company that particularly stood out to us was: "Being upset or disappointed after the fact, is buyer's remorse..." We have had our new carpet for a month now and love it. I used to live in the Visalia area and have used Franey's a couple of times and they were great. Yesterday, I happened to be visiting in the area and called them to see if they had any vinyl flooring remnants I could look at. It was holiday time and they were short staffed, but went out of their way to have someone meet me at their warehouse, within my time frame, and I found a suitable remnant for my repair job. I live in Northern Calif. now and there is nothing in Tehama, Butte or Shasta counties that is like Franey's. read more

Treated with disregard from the time I was investigating what flooring was best for my home. Against better judgment, I had the estimate done and ordered the flooring. When the flooring arrived, there was insufficient material to do the job because the person who measured made an error! Then, after having to wait a week (in a house with a section of flooring not done) for the additional product to complete the job to arrive, it turns out that this company ordered the wrong flooring, and if that were not enough, went ahead and installed it even though it was clear the flooring didn't match what was already installed. Despite there now two serious errors, this company had me wait almost two weeks for them to again order flooring before they bothered to come to my home to complete the job. Their attitude the whole time was as if they were doing me a favor to install flooring - almost as though I were not good enough for them even though they were (ultimately) paid thousands of dollars for this job. Then, I paid the remaining balance (a deposit was paid upfront), and I received a receipt of paid in full. Now, they are trying to indicate that I owe $50 and actually belief they are entitled to a late fee. Horrible, horrible service and very unprofessional company! They might find themselves in court, but in the meantime, hopefully this post can spare someone like me who only wanted to improve their home, and had the misfortune of coming across this company. Their actual actions are a contradiction to what they would like you to believe about them, to say the least! read more
