Got the car back literally sparkling inside and out and they made tremendous improvement with the paint - and they were even able to re-clip the front bumper skirt that had gotten snagged and pulled out of place years ago! Steven kindly offered to try an additional product on some of the spots of missing paint which I'll be taking the car back for. Pricing was great and they were FAST; car was in at 7am and done by 2pm (the last time I took my car in for interior detailing at a chain company, they took nearly 3 days!) As the crow flies, Recovery's yard is about a half mile from my home where my car was scheduled to be picked up to take to the shop. My experience with dispatch was pleasant enough. As I was at work at the time and not with the car was to be picked up, I explained to the dispatcher the car was in a parking lot behind the building of the given street address. He said his driver, Curtis, would call to get the details. Curtis called me to let me know he was en route to the vehicle's location. I explained to him the location of the car and offered to text a screenshot from google maps, showing the street names and labeling the location of the parking lot entrance and vehicle's exact location. I sent that screenshot and reiterated exactly where the car was and how to get there. What followed much later, well after I thought the car would have been picked up, were several calls from Curtis saying he couldn't find the car/the car wasn't there/he can't read maps/he doesn't do tow jobs in D.C./he can't find the key/he can't open the armrest where the key is/the car won't start. Ultimately, the car and key were exactly where I said they were and the car started without trouble. I don't understand why Recovery 1, a firm that boasts all over its website about how it serves D.C. specifically, would send a driver who tells customers he doesn't do tow jobs in D.C. Moreover, I don't know why they'd send a driver who can't read a map and also can't relay a cross street location to me over the phone to try to direct them to where the car is located. Again, Recovery's yard is less than a 10 minute walk from where the car was being picked up. It was extra concerning that he needed directions how to push a button to open an armrest compartment and that he had to put the key fob into the ignition to start the vehicle. Finally, with all the problems D.C. has with car thefts and carjackings, the last thing your driver should be telling your customer is they're at the location of the car and it's not there. Aside from not dropping the car off the back of the truck, Recovery 1 failed to meet the most basic expectations for professional service I had.

My vehicle is hasn't even been serviced yet and has about 3k miles. I take extra care because I lease it. The estimate process and scheduling work were seamless and The work looked great. Surprisingly, it was done within 24 hours when I was told it would be at least 2 days. This did raise suspicion. My disappointment comes at pick up. They said it washed but it was way dirtier than when I picked it up. That wasn't such a big deal and didn't want to wait. Then I got home under the garage lights and noticed several scratches around the fender/hood that were not there before. There was also masking tape still underneath the bumper which makes me think they didn't remove the bumper as I thought they would have to. Again, their work looks good, so time will tell on the quality. Hopefully, the new scratches will come out after a buff job. But I shouldn't even need to worry about that from a quality shop. You can see in last photo the new scratches and how dirty the vehicle was.

They gave me a repair estimate of $17,335.18 on October 15, which seemed reasonable, and I assumed work was being done. For over two months, I waited with no updates. Suddenly, on December 5, they emailed demanding the loaner back immediately and threatened a police report for "failure to return a rental vehicle." I called their rep (Alfonso), who said he would extend the loaner--he never followed up. That evening, the loaner was remotely disabled (Valet Mode) while I was driving, stranding me overnight in 20°F snowy/rainy weather on a busy DC street. I had to pay for towing myself to avoid freezing. The next morning (December 6), they called police (Rockville and Prince George's County), claiming I failed to return the rental. They also told officers my Florida license was "fake" or fraudulent. Police cleared me immediately. I repeatedly explained my disabilities (immune-compromised, OCD, ADHD, anxiety) and asked for accommodations to get my medication and belongings from the loaner (less than ¼ mile away at a friend's house). They refused and left me stranded without transportation or meds ever since. Now they demand over $14,000 in storage/rental fees--almost as much as the repair estimate--yet no work was ever done on my car. I have video, emails, bills, and records. This was unsafe, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Avoid if you value safety and clear communication.
