I appreciate the guidance with getting new equipment installed/replaced. He takes the time to provide explanations and reasoning which is a big plus. We just moved again, but are still local. I have used this electrician as to help me obtain a permit for a basement that was built over 25 years ago. On the first visit, Frank himself came and told me about problems I had, including those with my CO2 but said that that could be done at a later time. No other reason given. When I went to my township, I was told that my CO2 ceilling monitors were all electric wired. I subsequently called Mineo to my home to replace all the CO2 ceiling monitors and to date, one guy came, did absolutely nothing except leave my house and call (probably his boss) and said that he would come back. Have you seen him? I paid him $200 cash. His invoice that he gave me after I paid him was for $180. Aside from owing me money, I have called a half dozen times since then (yes, Jen) and I am getting what is commonly known as the run around. I had hired Frank between 2018-2019 for a new residential house construction. I already had a main panel installed by the modular home. He told me the panel had to be relocated to the front of the house per building code (to be closer to the supply line - makes sense). Only problem was the existing wiring wasn't relocated, and he wired all of that, and more circuits into a smaller subpanel he added. The town inspector scratched his head wondering why he didn't just run the supply line into a junction box and then a conduit to the original panel... in any case I have a quite overloaded subpanel and a very underused main panel. If that wasn't enough, his crew he assigned to do most of the work without his supervision, needed constant direction to avoid making more mishaps. Dead junction boxes, overloaded circuits, etc. Just found out today I have a recessed light installed over the kitchen sink that is entirely hard-wired... no socket or even a wiring harness. Good luck to the everyday homeowner replacing that. makes for good repeat business for the contractor I guess. One thing I had hoped he would have corrected free of charge was a problem that surfaced a few years after we moved in. My son's bedroom worked fine until he began adding more electronics and drawing more amps. Then the circuit breaker repeatedly tripped. After poking around I noticed that the 2nd floor furnace blower shared the same circuit as my son's bedroom. Every licensed electrician should know the furnace should have its own separate 15A fuse. I informed Frank who gladly visited and confirmed the problem. I figured I'd make it somewhat worthwhile for him to remediate the issue by offering to also install a transfer switch for a generator. He agreed and said he'd prepare a statement of work. I wasn't too happy to find out he listed charges amounting to over $1K to fix the overloaded circuit problem his outfit created. Needless to say I didn't bother calling back to even discuss. Just a shame because although he appears personable, it was clear he does not own up to his mistakes which is a dealbreaker. My suggestion is if you hire them, stay on top and don't agree to final payment until every last detail has been carefully inspected. I learned a hard lesson and now exercise careful due diligence with every contractor I deal with despite their impatience to get paid. read more
