Frank Vilt'ts Cakes was our wedding venues preferred baker and we totally understand why! When we had our initial appointment, we were happily welcomed in to the shop and provided a thorough tasting. It was not at all what we expected as we weren't given preassembled cake choices but different flavors of cake, fillings, and icings to mix and match as we pleased. We settled on a chocolate cake with alternating layers of fresh raspberry and chocolate filling, and vanilla buttercream icing. We were also provided samplings of their different desserts since we planned to do a dessert bar instead of a large cake. From the customer service to the tasty desserts, we were absolultely impressed with everything! All of our choices for our dessert bar tasted just as good the day of our wedding! Our guests were very impressed with all of our desserts as well. I don't think there was much left at the end of the wedding. Frank's also made our wedding favors - custom decorated sugar cookies! I used Frank for my wedding. He made the most beautiful and delicious cake and the most amazing dessert bar. I would highly recommend this shop for weddings or any other event. We have stopped here so many times since the wedding two years ago. I am so sad because today I found out they no longer store treats in their case for you to just come and buy. What a joke. First photo is what was ordered, 2nd photo is what was received. I provided the figurines and the paper cake topper. So they basically added a weak scallop around the edges of a basic cake and threw a tiny pizza on top. For $75. They never once contacted us to advise the design couldn't be made as ordered. We never heard anything from them until we arrived to pick up the cake on the day of the party it was for, and they said they didn't have time to fix it. The grocery story would have done a better job. Absurd. Will never return. read more

We were searching for a place to get our wedding cake. I even went to a wedding expo. Our first tasting as a couple was here. We were super excited to see/try all the options. We ended up with carrot cake w/cream cheese frosting , chocolate cake w/chocolate ganache and vanilla butter cream, and lastly lemon cake with raspberry filling w/lemon butter cream. I'm disappointed. I ordered a cake 3 years ago for my son's baby shower that turned out great. So I ordered again this year for his 3rd birthday. Sent a reference photo and my only request was that it be frosted rather than fondant all over the cake, but keep the decorations the same in fondant and change the name and number on the cake. I picked it up an hour before they closed on Saturday, and they do not reopen until Thursday so I had no chance to complain. No calls were made to approve these "changes". The cake itself tasted fine, too much frosting and not enough strawberry for my preference. This cake was $200, for 25-30 people. Of course my 3 year old isn't concerned about the quality, but when it costs that much, I expected better. If the cake is outside your scope of skill, be honest about it or don't accept the order. Came here to accompany my cousin and her fiance for a Dessert Bar tasting for her upcoming wedding, and the cupcakes here were devine! I liked almost every combo of cupcake, frosting, and filling that I tried here. The down side is making a decision on just 5 final cupcakes for the wedding. The vanilla cupcake with passion fruit filling and passion fruit frosting is a must try! I reached out to Frank Vilt's for a custom baby shower cake & was highly disappointed with the cake I received. When I reached out, I had an open budget & had multiple ideas of cakes I liked but sent my favorite. I was told they could do it for $59 & sent the order form. When I tried to confirm if the design was possible, I received a call from an employee who stated that the only thing that couldn't be done was the flying bees & they would possibly change the Winnie the Pooh picture to something similar & I was okay with all of this. I was assured the cake decorator could do everything else & scheduled to pick it up the day before my event. When I picked up the cake, it turned out that the design was NOT possible, because it did not look anything like the inspiration picture. The "honey" drips & beehive were very poorly executed & the buttercream frosting had swirls of pink in it when it should have been cream colored. I was completely shocked that a highly recommended, professional bakery that makes beautiful cakes (based on their social media pictures) had created this & thought it was passable. I'm not sure if what I asked for was worth more than the price THEY gave me after seeing the picture (I would NOT have paid any more if given this same quality) or if it was decorated by someone newer, but as soon as I picked it up I was immediately unhappy with the result. If this design wasn't possible for the price they had given, I wish they had been honest with me about that instead of assuring me it could be done. Without many other professional options for the event the next day, I was able to ask someone else to salvage what they could from this cake by taking the decorations that were acceptable (the bees & Winnie the Pooh picture) & completely refrosting the cake with a different design. Unfortunately for this reason, I will not be ordering from Frank Vilt's again & cannot recommend the bakery to others. read more

I found out about Frank and his bakery from the Facebook community page when one of my neighbors posted a photo of his Winning cake from the HBO-max baking contest. I was so excited to have a local bakery we could support and extra delighted a HBO-max show winner as well! Hubby asked if I would like to get cupcakes from Frank Vilt's bakery for my birthday treat so we visited last Friday afternoon and saved the cupcakes to enjoy for the next day with my birthday dinner. We were very happy to see Frank the owner was there when we entered the bakery! I asked him if he was Frank and then we congratulated him on his win. Frank and his team were friendly, welcoming and surely we are going to be repeat customers! I was hoping for carrot cupcakes and saw there were 3 left-I chose 2 of them and hubby chose a chocolate and a beautiful rainbow cupcake. Frank overheard us mentioning the carrot cupcake and he said how that day the carrot cupcake came out extra great and surely they did! Our taste buds were doing the joyous spinning jumping up and down dance after enjoying each cupcake! Wow! I've enjoyed the yummy treats of this shop for the last year or so, so I wanted to have them make my son's bday cake for his first birthday! What a great job! I went in with a simple idea, a round 6inch cake with a couple 2D designs. Frank's blew my mind away when I got the cake the day of the party! It looked awesome! And tastes great! Usually birthday cakes are MEH.. too sweet, not moist, and the frosting tastes artificial.. Frank's was the total opposite! The cake was so moist and the frosting definitely tasted homemade.
