I popped on into JoJo's bakery after having lunch next door in the same shopping plaza. The bakery recently opened up in this brick n mortar shopfront. The owner baked as a home business previously. Luv that entrepreneur spirit to expand. The bakery was in its soft opening phase. But they did for sure have a variety of cupcakes $2.50 and cookies (jumbo $3 and regular 6 for $5), chocolate covered strawberries, brownies $4 and lemon bars $4. She even sold DIY cookie kits. Everything looked darn yummy and beautifully decorated. I landed on a pumpkin cheesecake cupcake and jumbo chocolate chip cookie. It was wrapped to go. The cookie was on the crisp side. The cupcake was delicious. The cupcake had all the fall flavors in a moist dense cake. It didn't fall apart after first bite. The frosting was a perfect consistency, not runny or hard. Also not overly sweet. Ohhh that cupcake was heavenly. Still thinking about it. The owner/baker takes custom orders including cakes which seem to be her specialty. I suggest you look at her IG @jojosbakery90 and her Facebook JoJo's Bakery for photos and customer comments. The cakes are impressively decorated. Gorgeous. And she has a sense of whimsy. The owner is a local that participates her baking talent and time to alot of local charity events. #shoplocal #womenownedsmallbusivess

Cupcake was moist and not to sweet, a very nice balance between cake and icing.

I've worked alongside Frank Vilt's Cakes many times, and I can say without hesitation that Frank is one of the most talented, reliable, and big-hearted vendors in the business. The Signature Carrot Cake & Small Desserts While Frank is known for his stunning custom wedding cakes, his Carrot Cake is, in my opinion, a masterpiece. It's perfectly spiced, incredibly moist, and clearly made from scratch with high-quality ingredients. I've also had the pleasure of sampling his small dessert displays at various events. From his "California Cannolis" to his gourmet cupcakes and brownies, the attention to detail is unmatched. He doesn't just prioritize the look; he prioritizes the flavor. At every event where Frank provides the treats, the dessert table is the most talked-about part of the night. Service Area & Reliability Whether you are hosting an event in Sacramento, looking for a premier bakery near Folsom, or planning a wedding in the Cameron Park / Shingle Springs area, Frank is the person to call. He is deeply rooted in the local community and is a preferred vendor at some of the most prestigious venues in the region. A Pro's Pro Beyond the sugar and flour, what truly sets Frank apart is his character. In this industry, you want to work with people who are "helpers." Frank has a huge heart and is always there to support his fellow wedding professionals. Whether it's going the extra mile for a bride or lending a hand to another vendor during a hectic setup, his professionalism and kindness are rare. Highly Recommended for: Custom Wedding Cakes (Sacramento & Folsom areas) Event Dessert Bars (Mini-cupcakes, cannolis, and bars) Specialty Flavors (The Carrot Cake is a must-try!) If you want a baker who brings both world-class skill and a genuine passion for his craft to your big day, look no further than Frank Vilt's Cakes.

The light up fairy crown that everyone receives is a very nice touch to the experience! I ordered the salmon ($46), which came on a bed of caramelized mashed potatoes & a side Hobbit salad. The portion of salmon was huge & came out hot & I ate it all! I also ordered an apple dessert crepe ($20) to-go (which surprisingly took a really long time to receive - enough for my friend to eat her own entire crepe) & for what it was, it was just ok.

After seeing countless videos on social media, I was excited to finally visit this unique and whimsical-looking restaurant for Mother's Day lunch. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a disappointing start. When making the reservation, I was never informed that the restaurant would only be offering a limited Mother's Day menu. By the time we were seated and learned there were only five menu options available, with no access to the regular brunch menu, it was too late to make alternative plans. Not wanting to spend the holiday scrambling for another restaurant, we decided to stay and make the best of it. For the price, the food was underwhelming. Most of the dishes were mediocre, and my filet was noticeably overcooked. I had specifically been looking forward to trying items from their brunch menu, so finding out it wasn't available was disappointing. The cocktails were visually appealing but overly sweet and lacked balance. Another disappointment was the seating. Despite making reservations in advance, we were not seated in one of the restaurant's signature enchanted booths. To be fair, there are only three of these themed booths in the entire restaurant. The rest of the dining room felt somewhat dated and cluttered with dusty artificial plants. The overall atmosphere didn't quite match the magical experience portrayed online and on social media. The staff did make an effort to celebrate Mother's Day by giving moms elf ears and light-up tiaras, which was a fun touch and added to the theme. In the end, I left feeling disappointed. The concept and marketing create high expectations, but the food, seating experience, and overall value didn't quite live up to the hype. While the restaurant certainly offers a unique theme, my experience fell short of what I was expecting, and I'm not sure I would be motivated to return.

We came with a party of 6 on a Thursday for brunch and was seated right away. It seems like it definitely gets busy, especially the weekends! The portions were HUGE. Everyone was stuffed! My toddler especially loved the warmed blueberry bran muffin -- toddler approved. The muffins seem to go fast, since people seem to stop by just to their pastries. We ordered some with our meal, and later my in-law decided they wanted one to-go, but they were already sold out. I got the quiche and it was really delicious. It was a little heavier on the cheese for my personal taste, but still really good and I enjoyed it. I also had leftovers! We also tried the blueberry pancake, which was fluffy and full of blueberries! I was pleasantly surprised because many places skimp on blueberries, but this was loaded! It was perfect! Others in my party also got omelettes and they enjoyed it as well. Overall, cute atmosphere, friendly staff, generous portions, and good food. Would definitely stop by again when we're in Placerville!
