I cannot even give this place one star. I took it there because the insurance stated I needed to take it to the closest shop. My vehicle has been there for two weeks and they have not touched it. I tried to call for a week and kept getting an automated message that the voicemail was not set up or no one would answer. I kept calling to check on my vehicle, and kept getting the excuse that they had not had time, that it was raining and he did not want to work in the rain. Apparently he does not want to work at all. He could not give me an estimate on when it would be done or how much it would cost and basically gave me the don't call me, I will call you line. The one time he did actually talk to me he said he was guessing that it needed a fuel pump, and he had not even gotten it in his garage yet. I ran down there during lunch one day and they were closed for lunch. I went to get something out of my vehicle and it was unlocked with the keys in the ignition and the shop was closed. I went after work and checked again, keys were still there, so I took them out and scheduled my vehicle to go to another garage. I doubt they even realize the keys were missing, because they never contacted me. I tried to call and let them know I was having it picked up and again no answer. I went to meet the tow truck and walked inside and he opened a wooden door and stated "I guess you decided to take that somewhere else?" I replied yes. He said ok thanks and then slammed the wooden door as hard as he could. This guy is beyond rude and useless. Every person I have talked to since it was dropped off has told me it would not be fixed at this shop. I cannot even call this a business with the actions of this guy. read more

I live in Hillsboro. Try to keep my money in hometown businesses. The owner was absolutely the rudest M/F I ever met at a car repair place. Talks down to you. Acts like he's being bothered. I said I'm only here to make an appointment. Dropped it off Sun night. Monday, we passed by going to lunch, 11:30 am. Werent even open yet. Drove by again after lunch, saw it on rack. Drove by later, it was on the ground. Heard nothing. Tuesday comes, nothing. Not rushing them at all. Called to check if they found issue. Said no, havent had it on the rack yet. I SAW it on the rack on Monday. He lied to me. Lesson learned. Still waiting. No updates. Nothing. I really dont think this is a real professional mechanic shop. Probably just a get a battery and some washer fluid joint. And that will take you days and misery too. Update to follow. read more

NEVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO Franken's Auto Repair Inc 10510 MO-21!!! Firstly, knowing what was wrong with my car, as I had already had a diagnostic done elsewhere. It needed a catalytic converter(bank 1). I called to make an appointment for a quote/repair. I was told they can't give me a quote without a diagnostic. Now, normally I would understand CYA & all. Why though, 1 week later, when my husband called for the exact same thing did they just set the appointment for what it needed? Fast forward to the appointment... drop the car off Sunday night. Appointment for Monday car will be ready Tuesday. (only without a car for a couple days, cool) No updates all day Tuesday, hubs calls Wednesday morning they say the guy who was working on it had to leave yesterday, he's going to finish it up today. We heard nothing the rest of the day. Thursday 7/9, called them up, it's ready ($878.40 paid for the repair). I pick it up & they let me know it needs to be run through a drive cycle before they could inspect it. (This took a few days as I work from home & covid) By the time I got home I could tell something was off. (It's a 3 minute drive y'all) I told my husband, something's not right, it's running rough & I can hear rattles that weren't there before. He told me to run it through the drive cycle like they said & if it's still doing it, say something when you take it back for the inspection. Friday 7/17, I had to pick up my mom from Fenton. On the way home we're coming to a stoplight I press on the brakes & we hear a clunk on the front passenger side wheel followed by grinding. Saturday morning my hubs takes the front wheels off... driver front - the caliper bolt was loose, passenger front - wheel lugs were not even tight & the caliper had popped off because the bolt was missing. Of course they're closed so we go get new caliper bolts & breaks hubs replaces them. He called them up Monday morning, let them know what happened they set up an inspection for 2:30 & said they would check it out when I brought it in. I made the mistake of not setting a reminder, got busy & forgot to take it up there so I call when I remembered @ 3:30. He was understanding & rescheduled the appointment for Wednesday. I get there today & there's 2 men inside. #1 asks if I have the lic renewal card the dmv sends... me-no, I don't even take that to the dmv, I look at it & throw it away. #1-Oh well, we need your name & address (looking for paper) #2-we ask for that because it has all your info on it, that's why they send it me- I threw it away #1 - hands me a scrap of paper Me- writing my name and address #2 - that card has a pin on it too... me - I've never used it, I just throw it away #2-well we still need your name & address me - which is why I'm writing it down even though I was just here with the same vehicle so you should have it on file... #2 - well we didn't get your name and address for that me - I hand #1 the slip of paper, once he's done typing I start to ask if they were going to check where the caliper popped off. Mid sentence #2 takes my keys & walks out of the office. #1 assures "I let Dan know, he'll check it out" (Dan is #2) As I'm waiting for my car, I'm outside on the phone & an older lady comes in. As she's walking in she trips on the step & falls in the door. I get in to help her and I see #1 had just rolled his chair to the end of the counter and was just looking at her, DIDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO GET UP TO HELP HER!! Even when he saw me struggling to get her up he didn't try to help. When #2 comes back in with my inspection papers, he lays them on the counter & says nothing. I'm looking & it states he removed the left front wheel. So I say did you check out the right front? This says you took off the left front? #2- you don't get to choose which one we take off that's up to us Me- yes but when you're supposed to check something your shop screwed up... he cut me off #2- well he didn't tell me, ma'am did you just come in here looking for a fight? Me- are you fucking kidding me? I can't, I'm just gonna let my husband deal with car shit from now on. To which I guess he thought that meant I was going to send my husband after him. Because he (#2) replied "go ahead get him up here" [ is this high school? little man, just be thankful we know orange isn't our color] You botch an almost $900 repair job, & treat me like I'm the problem? Story time. I was driving to work one day and this low tire pressure light came on in my car which I have never seen before. Naturally, I called my dad (who, by the way, lives 9 hours away) and asked what I should do and if my tires were going to blow up on me. He said to stop at an auto repair place and get them checked them out. Obviously there isn't much in Hillsboro and I drive by this place 5 days a week so I stopped in. The guy at the counter was in the middle of a personal conversation with someone but he eventually acknowledged me and asked what I needed. One of the other guys that worked there went out to my car and came back in 10 minutes later saying I was good to go. I asked if I owed them anything and the guy at the counter was like "no... we just put air in your tires." So I mean... they weren't the most personable people in the world but they probably thought I was an idiot. Oh well, the problem was taken care of! read more
