I would not recommend this school. The HMH curriculum they use isn't helpful for students as it's not academically challenging them. Additionally, the curriculum doesn't match the FAST. As far as my experience as a legal English only speaking immigrant we didn't feel fully accepted or supported. Had I not got support outside of the school my kid would be failing the FAST. The grade has changed teachers 3X and the school year isn't out yet. The school hasn't really been accountable about that and I've been really disappointed since. read more

I came to this school to see my daughters game as they played against this campus. She attends the Cooper City Campus and hands down this campus is wayyyyy nicer, bigger, and more new. This campus is actually middle school and high school. As you drive in, you see this massive field for what I think is suppose to be football games. Although.... being that this school is only 1 year old, it does not have football. I can assure it has volleyball, basketball and baseball and some other sports. I hung back and spoke to some teachers and parents, and they had nothing to but great things to say about the school. This school is assisting with the over crowdedness but it definitely filled up, FAST! This too is a lotto drawing that opened December 4th and runs through the end of January. While walking around, I noticed outside eating area, a poster promoting Trip to Spain, and class ring order advertisement. I wholeheartedly agree with the last negative comment about this school. I really wanted this school to work out but so far mostly everything has been a disaster . Staff, for the most part is rude and unwilling to help and go the extra mile. They look like they are in a bad mood all the time, including some of the teachers. Security is a joke, they all treat parents like crap, they are so disorganized wIth pick up and drop off. 1 hour pIck up wait times is the normal routine. They don't allow kids to be dismissed after 1:45 because they are planning for their screwed up pick up procedures. Just the other day couple of kids went missing during the school time; they were later found after helicopters and an army of policy cruisers showed up. Everything around planning and organization in this school leaves a LOT tO be desired. My daughter and many of her classmates could not attend a field trip from her class because of poor planning as there were not enough space available.... how could that be? How can someone in charge of this coordination miss half of a class? Messaged Ms Nadal for an explanation - few weeks ago, still waiting a response. I have 2 kids in this school; and we can clearly see that teachers do whatever they want, some communicate well with parents, the others not so much. Best practices on how to properly communicate with parents should be shared and encourage to use by all teachers. I could go on and on...the blame and fault should not be placed on the teachers but rather on school administrators who are not able to manage the huge amount of students in a way to reduce stress on parents, staff and the students. read more

My son is in 9th grade. Love the school so far. Only complaint is that they are a little ridiculous about taking cell phones away. It's excessive. Its really ridiculous. Other than that-pretty happy. Oh, and forgot to mention, half of the locks in the bathroom do not wirk, and it's happened morr than multiple times where a kid trying to find an available stall accidentally opens your door. Let me reiterate, this is NOT a rare occurance. This happens more than daily. These are full door bathrooms), and toilet paper is not regularly stocked, and is always out. We just lost soap recently too. And 3rd floor dryers do not work, no paper towels either. Toilets commonly also leak water onto the floor, meaning, to use the facilities, you have to step in dirty toilet water (a puddle) bathrooms are also full of graffiti as well. Events, 90% of them are cancelled, and are excessively expensive. Sports, I don't even think we have a team. Vending machines at the cafeteria? Don't be dazzled by them. They are almost never stocked. Don't come here. Don't be dazzled by the big building, it is a terrible school with terrible policies and terrible staff. Don't let these reviews fool you. I'm glad I left this school. I was student there my 9th grade year and beginning of 10th grade year. I'm honestly glad I left cause all 9th grade year my algebra teacher didn't teach unless guidance was in the classroom. Yes I paid attention and did all my worker but never had a teacher but myself. Go home watch math videos and teach myself repeat. They care more about uniform than your actual education. Bathrooms a disgusting rarely had toilet paper or soap. Oh and the most teachers there will give favoritism to Hispanics and whites and could care less about blacks. I had transportation issues the whole TWO first months of school the only way I got transportation was for a Spanish speaking family member to ask for me and I got it the first day of calling. But those first TWO months of me and my mom calling no one cared because we were black and not Hispanic. And on top of that school is supposed to be a place to feel comfortable and to learn but it just felt like prison and that's just that. I still felt like a middle schooler cause of how much freedom we lacked. And if you're a high schooler at lunch (1st floor) and you have to use the bathroom you've got to walk all the way to 3rd floor. And wait there's more we can't stick up for our selfs. The office says that if you get hit first don't hit back or you'll get punished. And why do you think they added k-12? Well it's cause they need more money and there's not enough kids. You come in with high expectations and leave noting close to it. Please just find another school. read more

I was very excited for my two children to start this school after being on the waiting list for two years at the Sunrise location. I am very disappointed with this location. The staff is very rude to children and parents(I was taken back on how unfriendly and unwelcoming a few of them were as if they do not like their job or if they are over stressed), they don't have permanent teachers yet, (we are a month into the school year) they don't have enough buses, parent pick up takes 45 mins (was over an hour the first few weeks. They had to hand out water bottles to the children because it was so hot and the wait was so long, (they don't allow you to park and pick up children to avoid this either) and I reporting a bullying incident to Principal Nadal that was handled very poorly(still have not gotten a call back from principal who is too busy to handle something that they say they have a zero tolerance for), I will be looking for another school. I really wanted to like this school but after so many negative experiences, it's left a horrible impression. I think the school took on too many children and they can not handle the work load. read more
