They were helpful and cheerful with my mother who was not always happy to be there since all she wanted was to go home. Lubi was one of our favorites! She was so helpful with my mother making sure she was taken care of, clean, and safe. She was one of the hardest workers and always so cheerful! Any questions we had with any staff member, they answered and always found a solution. They also had many student CNAs and they were fantastic with my mother as well as others who lived there. Besides them helping in the rooms to get guests to the bathroom or help get them ready for bed, I also found them sitting with the guests talking with them, doing nails, or just being with them. Skylar (CNA) was super helpful with my mother as well. People is everything to the guests. Having a quality, hard working and kind humans working with my mother was so important. Have not had that at other rehab places last yr. So thankful this stay was a positive! Highly recommend the place and the staff!

You know, it's really quiet here. Like mouse quiet. Either everyone was out or the walls are thick. All the staff I talked to were very nice too. Didn't even care that I was poking around- though to be fair I don't look like a troublemaker. This place looks pretty sweet. The care for the client we had there was horrible, I wouldn't place an enemy there. If you love your elder don't place them here. Neglect was evident on some of the residents that I saw (our elder too). I understand that Castle is understaffed but that doesn't mean a resident shouldn't be cared for, pay your CNAs what they are worth and maybe you'd have better care. Regardless the CNA and LPNs and the RNs should be ashamed of their work ethics. This was by far the worst senior living company I've ever seen. Yes I've worked as a CNA but I took pride in caring for my residents and the families appreciated the few minutes of extra time I gave. I would never put my parents in this facility, they would be better off somewhere else keep on looking for other places you won't regret it. My biggest regret is doing business with Castle in the first place.

When asked what happened the director Nicole Armstrong has to investigate - meaning staff are not keeping track and documenting accidents. My father had visible marks on his forehead so clearly he hit his head.... Yet it's taking days to figure out what occurred. When I arrive he has been seen in the hallway bare assed on a hallway couch - with staff down the hallway chatting amongst themselves. And he almost always smells of urine, feces, or body odor. They work with people suffering from dementia but don't know how to work with these people. There is no dignity, no understanding, ZERO COMMUNICATION, and serious lack of record keeping. FUCK LAYTON TERRACE. PS- do not believe any reply from the company - they DO NOT CARE. All they care about is money lining their pockets, continuously raising rent but never improving the quality of care. They won't take initiative to investigate nor to call me. Just like previous negative reviews, they will reply with a number for me to call. When I do, they won't answer and I will NEVER get resolution.

I have had several family members that lived in our communities. I was always happy with the care they received. My father-in-law lived in Spring House (Memory Care) at Layton Terrace until he passed away. I feel the staff really knew him and did a great job of re-directing him when he became agitated. They knew what he liked to eat. They would listen to his stories. Our family appreciated all they did for Norm.

Each and every time we visit, my dad is in good spirits, he is freshly shaven, he & his clothes are clean and most importantly he is active. Also, he loves the breakfasts, lunches and dinners ! The scheduled activities both at the facility and outside the facility are truly enjoyable. They even welcome family members to join in the activity. My dad went from living in his own home to a memory care facility. What I was most impressed with was the daily communication the staff gave our family during this tough transition. They wanted us to know how our dad was doing in his new residence. Staff did everything possible to make the transition as smooth as possible. They did all this with grace while maintaining my dad's dignity. The facility is clean both inside and outside. The grounds look great!
