What a breath of fresh air this tour was. It was so educational and informative. I would have paid for a class at college if Frank was the professor. He made it interactive and open ended because he was not only the teacher, he was open to discussion or added information from us. It was a wonderful time. It went by soo quickly because it was entertaining as well. This is the Best tour I have ever been on in my 40 years of traveling around the world. Please go, it is more than worth it. Please don't be afraid of the 2 hour walking tour because it is roughly 2,000 to 3,000 which is doable for most people. Thank you soo much Frank.

Great tour. We did several tours while we were in Charleston and this was the best one. Mr. Frank told us the real deal. The tour was very informative and insightful. I would recommend this tour.

This is just behind the Mother Emmanuelle Church. This is to protest gentrification, which forces out locals.

This is a fantastic tour. It tells the true story of what happened to enslaved people. And Frank is a great tour guide.

Was the rest of our trip so underwhelming that our excursion with Lowcountry Walking Tours exceeded all other expectations? Perhaps we just lucked out with the optimal factors to catapult our urban trek to a noteworthy high. I can't point my finger at any particular indicator that the rest of our Charleston trip was subpar, so I'm concluding that our tour was truly outstanding. First off, the late-January weather was flawless; it was perfect for spending a few sun-drenched mid-morning hours strolling around Charleston's French Quarter. Second, Captain Jim kept us entertained with enchanting history lessons, snappy quips, and fascinating details we would have undoubtedly overlooked as unwitting tourists. Finally, we'd opted for the Hidden Alleyways and Passages tour and it did exactly what it says on the tin. We wandered down tucked-away paths that I never would have thought were accessible to the public (let alone take me anywhere desirable). If you're visiting Charleston and looking for an affordable way to learn about the city and obtain a deeper appreciation for its rich history, I unhesitatingly recommend Lowcountry Walking Tours.
