I'm so glad I went on this walking tour when my mom and I visited Charleston the first week in February. We had Brian and he was wonderful. We learned so much about the history of Charleston and about the different buildings and homes down town. We had the best time he has the best personality as well. We had some great laughs. Thank you Brian for making our visit so memorable. We will be back and will do your tour again! Ladies from AZ and Vegas

Book it! Wow! Our guide Fin was a former History teacher and he was amazing! Great storytelling and super knowledgable! Found myself getting goosebumps as he wrapped up our "journey back in time" with the story of the start of the Civil War. Tour was a little over 2 hours and worth every minute!

Brian was awesome! He was informative and very friendly. I was the only one on my tour so he specifically asked if there was anything in particular that I wanted to see or learn about. 10/10 and would 100% recommend!

Brian was phenomenal and filled with stories of Charleston history and American history. A group size of 10-12 Brian asked where everyone was from. Surprisingly, Brian was also well versed in New Jersey history as well.. and Canadian.... and Boston. Brian's brain is massive and the type of guy who is very passionate about what he does. Not a boring tour guide at all! Definitely someone you would want to grab a beer with and pick his brain. There is not an item in Charleston that Brian doesn't know the history. Whether doors, trees, or roads. Brian knows it all. I will definitely take the tour again with more friends.

Brian from Charleston Sole Walking Tours was simply amazing. He was a wealth of knowledge which kept us captivated for the entire 2+ hrs tour of Charleston. He was funny, charming and took the time to answer every single question. His own long family history in the Holy City gave him a perspective that no other tour guides could. He showed us all the most important sites in the city and much more. I would 100% book him again. Thank you so much Brian.

Absolutely outstanding experience! We toured with Fin at 9:45am, who was super energetic and informative. He asked where everyone was from, and if he had the chance he referenced our cities in the tour. We weren't prepared for how humid it was going to be, but we did stop about halfway through for a bathroom/water break. The tour was outside, but masks were still required in City Hall if you went in for the break. Definitely recommend bringing a drink if you have time before! Fin was ready to answer any and all questions that our group had, and knew so much about the history and architecture of the city. Definitely recommend this tour!

Brian was the most informative and knowledgeable tour guide I have ever experienced. I learned so much of Charleston's history, as well as stories about each place we saw. Nice small group of 5. Truly enjoyable experience and Brian knows most of the locals as he makes the effort to engage with them and learn their story and experience. He can focus the stories on your interests as well.

He was not wearing any sort of identification or professional attire that would identify him as a tour guide therefore it was very jarring and uncomfortable when he looked right at me and referred to me by name. Thank god I was with my parents or I would have called a law enforcement officer over, I was very creeped out. He did not identify himself or indicate that he was with the tour company. For the first 5 minutes I genuinely wondered if he was just a random guy who decided to prey on unsuspecting tourists. We spent too much time standing in one spot listening to him editorialize and pontificate his views which were chock full of historical inaccuracies, irrelevant meanderings and personal opinions. My father, who has a degree in American History, was seething at how wildly inaccurate his information was. For example, his claim that Thomas Jefferson was the second president. This was very inappropriate in general and not what we signed up for. We expected a complete walking tour giving us accurate historical facts about this beautiful city that we were visiting for the first time. He kept referencing Wikipedia which is not a reliable source. It was very alarming and dangerous how much misinformation he was confidently disseminating and then had the gall to argue when he was corrected by someone with a degree in American history. We finally got fed up and left after 15 minutes. I regret booking this tour, I was really looking forward to learning more about Charleston and this was a complete waste of time. Thank goodness I got my money back. Do not book

We did…read morethe Strong Women of Charleston tour with him and found the afternoon so enjoyable and educational. Larry did an excellent job of making history come alive with his stories. In our two hours, we walked a small part of the city and Larry told us the stories of the incredible women who not only shaped the growth of Charleston, but the growth of our country. He is friendly, witty, and incredibly intelligent. I would highly recommend taking one of his tours to learn more about this "drinking city with a history problem."

The house is also on the National Register of Historic Places. I was lucky enough to get a ticket and tour the property this year! Frank Lloyd Wright designed the house to fit in with the area's unique landscape. He worked on the project for over twenty years up until his death. The property was in bad shape and close to being torn down before Joel Silver, a Hollywood producer purchased it. Silver with the help of Wright's grandson restored it and completed it to Wright's original plans. The property is on 326 acres (you do not have access to all of it) but bring your walking shoes as there is a lot to see!!! Plenty of parking is available on the main road and then you walk down to the gate to check in and make your way up the driveway. The tour of the main house is guided with a group of 12 and you are taken to certain rooms to view. Photographs are not permitted inside as it is a personal residence but outside you can take as many as you like of the house and the grounds and other buildings. The house is very unique with the copper downspouts that are to resemble Spanish moss to the angles in the house boards that represent the slopes of oak trees to the hexagons just about everywhere. Even the gardens are on an angle. The pool was added by Silver as was the sculpture garden and the theater room. If you can score a ticket to visit this gem, I highly recommend it.
