This was our first and last visit here. Maggie was very rough with my son during his haircut. My son actually loves getting haircuts, but when we got back to the car, he looked upset. I asked him what was wrong, and he said he liked his haircut, but the stylist grabbed his arm hard and kept telling him to stop moving--even though he wasn't moving. He's 9 years old and has never had an issue with haircuts or left feeling scared before. As a parent, that was upsetting to hear. We got lucky with a last minute appointment on a Saturday morning. We got there maybe 12 min early and our son was seen before his appointment time. Fran was so fast but yet super efficient. His haircut came out perfect for his first hair cut. She had so many toys to distract him. I most definitely recommend Fran! We paid $33 for a hair cut not including tip. Fran is wonderful with customers, especially the little ones! She's always kind and welcoming and it's great that she speaks both English and Spanish. Her salon is spacious and filled with fun colors that make it appealing for kids. That being said, I'm giving the business 3 stars because the prices have gone up quite a bit. With the current economy, paying $35 for a regular kids' haircut (to that add tip + card fees if you don't pay cash) feels a bit high. Also, during my last visit, even though I had an appointment, we still had to wait over 30 minutes. I hope the pricing and scheduling can be improved to make it even better! read more

Fran did a great job with my son's haircut. She was efficient and precise. Prices are fair for IE. $30 for toddler haircut in Jan 2023 (plus tip). The haircut station chairs are bright colored cars which kept my toddler happy and occupied. There are lots of toys available for purchase as well, which are reasonably priced. My toddler son is definitely not a fan of getting his hair cut, this would be our third attempt at cutting it and Fran definitely did a great job even with his crying and excessive movement. I give this place 3 stars. Customer service was fine, the employees are sweet. However, I was disappointed with the cut. My son had long hair and I wanted to keep the length but just trim it. Ideally I wanted something like pictured on the left of the photo I posted. When I showed the lady cutting his hair she told me no that's too long. And she kept asking me how short I wanted his hair. I told her okay then just a trim, I just want to be able to have his hair out of his face. She said "okay but how short?" At this point I physically showed her and told her it's my first time taking him in for a haircut so I'm not sure how to describe things. She said okay then brought out the clippers and gave him more than just a trim :( I hate that I'm writing a poor review because the place was really cute, but I'm just very sad that my son's hair is gone. My 3-year old foster son needed a haircut so I searched Yelp for kid barbers and I found Fran's! Called on a Thursday and was able to get an appointment the very next day at 11am with Maggie. *They are only accepting appointments at this time - no walk-ins. Fran instructed us to arrive on time, bring our masks and exact cash. We arrived at the salon on Friday at 11am and we were the only ones there. :) No need to worry about social distancing. Yay!! Maggie went to work right away on my foster son and about 20 minutes or so later he was done. Super fresh and clean!! She offered him a lollipop during the haircut and she turned on a movie for him. This is my first review on Yelp. The customer service was so terrible I had to share our experience to keep any others from a terrible experience. We took my grandson for a hair cut. He's 2 and was having a hard time sitting in their chairs. The women began talking shit in Spanish about how we couldn't control him. I stayed quiet and we kept trying to get him to calm down. Then they started rushing us 3 min after trying to get him in the chair. The woman started saying "We reserve your 30 minute time and you have 10 more minutes." We kept trying to calm him and the two hairstylists kept talking shit about his behavior in Spanish. Again I stayed quiet. They tried forcing him in the chair which only upset my grandson more. We decided to just skip the hair cut as he was crying and screaming. Then the woman tried to charge my daughter for the cut. I understand business policies. However they never explained this to my daughter. She started arguing with my daughter. As a place who specializes in kids I am so disappointed by their attitude toward a toddler, their unprofessional shit talking, and overall terrible customer service. Finally at the end I told the women I speak Spanish and understood all they said. She started arguing with me saying they weren't talking shit. They were, judging a toddlers behavior. Will never go back. People who work with kids should know and do better. read more

This is my little one's third haircut at Fran's and I must say fran makes the experience positive and quick which eases my nerves! Frans Fun Cut is the best place to get your kids cuts. I've been coming here for my son's haircut since he turned 1 and Fran always does an amazing job. Had an appointment, the door was locked when I first got there no one was inside. I had to call the business number on the website, finally, an older lady came and answer the door on the phone talking to someone. She had us wait in the back playroom area while she was in the room next to us just talking and yelling on the phone, we waited half an hour and she never came and got us and so we just left. My son gets scared when it comes to people, especially if they are trying to cut his hair, they don't understand that they don't cut hair for grown ups they cut hair for kids you have to be nice to the child and get to know the child, my son started crying hysterically he didn't want the lady to touch him we weren't there for even 10 min. The owner would alway cut my sons hair, but I always felt it was too short. After several months of going to a different salon, I needed a last minute haircut for him and ended up back at Fran's. I asked for a specific haircut and even showed Maggie a picture of what I wanted. She went on to tell me "that's an adult haircut, just tell us what you want is a medium fohawk otherwise you will confuse us". I went on to explain it is similar but I wanted it to look longer and fuller on the top. Long story short- she went on to cut my sons hair way too short for even a fohawk and ruined his hair. I love going to Fran's. We visited her after a not so pleasant 1st haircut experience at a barber shop. I was nervous for the 2nd haircut but my son did not cry at all with Fran! He loves getting his hair cut with her. There are cute fire truck hair cutting stations for boys and she always turns a movie on for the kids. As soon as I walked in I was not greeted the women there just looked at me until I asked if they had availability. They stated yes and I started to prepare my son to put him in the chair for when they called me over. My son is a year and 4 months and cries a little when he gets haircuts (which has never been an issue with the place I usually take him to but unfortunately they were fully booked today which is why I tried this place). When I sat him down everything seemed to be going ok. It went downhill when she asked how I wanted the haircut and I stated I wanted his hair to be cut with scissors. I understand my son is crying and moving for which they stated they ddnt want to hurt him, but my problem is not that. My problem is don't question what I want for MY son. If I said I ddnt want his hair to be cut with machine then stop trying to convince me to just let you cut it any other way. Keep in mind I said it was my preference and that I understood and told them I would come another day when my son was not having a meltdown, but don't try to force people to do what is easier or convenient for you. I would stay away from here and definitely I will not be coming back because everyone has their own preferences for THEIR CHILD NOT YOURS. if you work with kids not all kids stay calm the entire time and move around during a haircut or for everything, you should know this as a business directed for kids. Place was clean but doesn't make up for the experience of trying to take a young child for a necessity and still feel judged for having preferences for MY child. I was not rude and just told them I would just come another day but just keep your opinions to yourself period ,not everyone wants what you think is best for their own child. read more

I will start with I have been here with my kids a few times already. I noticed how the short lady (Maggie) was always in a bad mood. Maggie was always so serious, even with the kids, but I figured as long as she does a good job then I can overlook how unfriendly she is. Haircuts were ok, nothing crazy, just simple haircuts. This particular time we were the last costumers of the day (by appointment). She (Maggie) told me we would have to wait a bit because they were pretty busy, no big deal. She comes back and tells me she will do one haircut and the other lady will do my other kid's haircut. I agreed. She finished with my son but tells me I have to wait for the other lady to do my other son's hair because she's leaving. I said ok, and she tells me I have to pay now before she leaves (even though they have only done 1 haircut she asked me to pay for both). I go to pay and tell her this time I will pay cash (I usually pay with card but I was trying to avoid paying that credit card fee). I paid and after getting my change, she makes a comment about a tip. I gave her back some of the change I got and told her that's all I can tip today. She makes a rude remark about the tip not being enough. This rubbed me the wrong way, specially because I am already paying for the service. It's not like she's going above and beyond to do a haircut or even talk to the kids. Also, she's never complained the previous times I've left a good tip when paying with my card. We can't all afford to leave a big tip all the time, specially when we are already paying for the services. I go back to waiting for the younger lady to cut my other son's hair, she seems nicer and friendlier toward the kids. Maggie goes into a little room, comes back out and starts to complain to the younger lady about how people haven't being tipping, and how all the work she did this day was for nothing (because she didn't get enough tips). All this complaining in front of us, paying customers. She grabs her things and leaves obviously upset. The younger lady finishes with my other son and we leave. Once at home, after my kids shower, I can see the haircuts better (Maggie had put a great amount of gel after the haircut she did). The haircut by Maggie was mediocre at best. There were several uneven spots that were not obvious at first because of how much gel was on my son's hair. This made things even worse, specially if you think about how entitled she felt about getting a tip. Needless to say we won't be back to this place. Not sure if she was having a really bad day that day but her remarks, entitlement, and attitude were just out of place. Above all she did a really poor job with my son's hair. read more

Update 12/16/19- went in and actually had Fran. She was so friendly & so sweet with my daughter. She's definitely the one to ask for when you book! Went in at 10am on a Saturday. We had an appointment yet there was no one there. Another fellow and his son entered asking to get a cut but they were turned away because no other stylists were working. I'm not sure of the lady's name who did our hair, but she was not talkative or really creative in trying to keep my toddlers attention like I've found them to be at other places. I had to help hold my daughters head still. It was also kinda pricey! The cut was ok but very blunt for a toddler girl especially around the forehead. But it was in no way awful. The stylist did nothing but dry it until it was damp. No cute pony or anything which in the past at salons I've used they usually do something special with the hair. Considering there was no one waiting I felt like we were rushed out. My sister drives here from Glendora and always has Fran do her sons hair. So guessing Fran is the one to ask for if I go back. read more

I never write negative reviews but this one i have to mention about this negative experience...The old short lady that works here was very unfriendly towards my son. Our little one is speech delayed so you should have more ways to connect with the child if he is not looking down on first try...Her Body language and demeanor was very negative. Not sure if the old lady was having a bad day.... But do not take it out on the kids. She kept combing my sons tangles so roughly i had to tell her 'softly please' then she goes and bring out the detangling spray. But Frans is great though. If you have a almost 1 year old do not come here!! It was my 11 month old first time here I asked to get a trim around his head with scissors and Instead they used shaving clippers . My baby was furiously screaming and the lady would not stop and just continued as he would shake to stop and would not give him breaks! She stopped up until the baby threw up all his milk due to having a towel on his tummy on a weird incline angle... she also didn't notice but all his hair was going to his mouth while crying which made the experience so horrible for my baby.
