Due to covid, safety protocols are in place. While I like seeing the array of items they have besides wine, it is a very different experience. There is no tasting so you are buying the wine blind like in a liquor store. You need to know what you want. There are only 3 types of wine here -- blueberry, cranberry and white cranberry. Their happy hour runs from 2-5pm and includes cocktails, glasses of wine and wine flights. We indulged in a self-selected wine tasting (five, 2 ounce pours) and were so impressed that we ended up leaving with 3 bottles (2022 Rose, Stoneboat "Piano" brut, and Rosé Frizzante 2022). Colby, our connoisseur (and new BFF), was very knowledgeable and accommodating in answering our questions and offering suggestions. We will definitely be back for more wine! She then apologized and said she didn't know I had a reservation (even I told her from the get go), and eventually arranged us to move. We ordered drinks and snacks. My cocktail came rather promptly, but my husband waited for 45 minutes for his sparkling wine flight, and they gave him a wrong order of red wine flight. He had to wait another 15 minutes, so totally one bloody hour for the correct sparkling wine flight. We ordered the whipped feta with fig & blueberry compote, and after an hour long they came another wrong order, the whipped feta with baked peaches and pistachios. It tasted decent, but it was still the wrong order nonetheless. The server just kept on saying kitchen is super busy and servers are insanely exhausted today. She didn't even offer to give us the new correct dish, or do anything to make up for it.

Throughout our visit, the server made no eye contact and appeared disengaged. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere during our wine tasting. Despite purchasing the wine passport and tipping generously at the previous wineries, we did not feel welcomed at this establishment and left as soon as possible. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that fell short of our expectations. A 7 out of 10 decor was a beautiful, unique establishment, a 10 out of 10 if we had a person serving who wanted to be there. We ended up purchasing Madeleine Angevine, which is a bit more dry and crisp. The outdoor patio and picnic area were lovely. They offer a Sunday brunch buffet that pairs well with their wines, featuring meats, cheeses, baked goods, and a chocolate fountain! Right in middle is a barn used for events etc but not opened to general public. Could be rented. I am guessing owners house is in another corner as there is a bungalow on one side but i might be wrong. Wine yards are parallel on both side of the front yard. Its popularity was more than i thought. As we were there for over half an hour, we noticed visitors ,frequenters flocking the place on scooters, bikes. Its coz this is quite central to surrey and on the other side to vancouver. Well all have fun touring wine yards.

Wine tastings are complementary, and you can have up to three kinds of wine. Tried their Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noix (a fortified pinot with brandy), and of course, their signature D'Oro walnut port. Unfortunately the tasting of 6 different flavored mead made us a bit too woozy to go across to Township 7 vineyards for more wine tasting. Luckily there's a traveling tea shop on the lawn where we could sober up with some high tea food or sandwiches or charcuterie board. I never realized there are quite a fair bit of wineries in the Langley/Abbotsford area. You don't really need to go far to kelowna if you're short on time. We also saw horses out here. Too cute. And really a wonderful way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. This place specializes in mead. You can be a club member and there are special meads for members. They do a tasting for $10 which is waived with purchase of a bottle ($26). I love how the staff will tell a story or origins of the name for their different meads. Dry mead -- the original. I tend towards sweeter alcohol and I'm surprised I could drink this. Not overly sweet. It is light and crisp with a bit of bubbly (not fizzy) to me. Very refreshing. Ginger mead -- I like ginger but not in this mead. A bit herbal to me. Lavender mead -- it's the prettiest with the violet hue. It smells of lavender but the taste sticks for the longest time for me. Cranberry mead -- a light orange pink color. It's very tart. Vinum Regum -- 2 versions, we tried the reserved one which is aged for 90 days in oak barrel so it has a Smokey flavor like whiskey. It's really strong for me. Lvna (Luna) -- mulled mead which has winter spices like mulled wine. This is the sweetest. Very nice. They have other fruity flavors like pear. Lovely staff and definitely come here if you want some uncommon flavored mead.

For $10, you are presented a selection of 6 wines - 1 white, 4 red, and 1 red or dessert wine. The selections are presented in cute carafes, and you are free to choose one of their lovely outdoor picnic tables with a great view of the area, or sit indoors if that's more your speed. It looked like there was some charcuterie available for purchase, but based on the increasing number of folks that pulled up throughout the afternoon, there was a strong trend of BYOS (bringing your own snacks).
