It was nice to meet the cows who produce the milk too. A few years ago, we came across their cheeses when we were at the Sunnyside Progressive Dinner. Daniel and his wife Lydia were at the Cote Bonneville Tasting room to share their delicious products. In fact, they had a cheese washed in the Cote Bonneville Syrah. We have been fan ever since. They have an amazing variety of cheeses and great recipes on their website. Thank goodness we can find their wonderful cheeses at our local grocery stores More cheese, please.

However, we were both very pleased with the small plates that we shared: "asparagus" and "potatoes" with caviar. SMALL PLATES The asparagus looked like a salad but was a bit warm to our surprise. I enjoyed the different flavors put together, including some bitterness. My absolute favorite is the potatoes. We ordered it with caviar, which only cost $8 extra! CHARCUTERIE We ordered the imported charcuterie board for 2. It was presented nicely, but there was nothing to brag about other than that. The amount of food was right for 2, but it's because there's lot of bread but there's little cheese and cured meat. The quality of the cheese and the meat was just ok. COST We were shocked how inexpensive it was. We ordered 2 small plates, a charcuterie board for 2 people, a bottle of Spanish wine, a slice of olive oil cake, and 2 coffees. It all added up to only about $100. It's shocking as it includes a bottle of wine. The coffee was pour over, and they made one cup at a time, but it was only $3! CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM The small plates were excellent, but the charcuterie plate needs more work. There should be more cheese and meat both in terms of the quantity but also the variation (and less bread). They feature small breweries, cideries, and wineries and have a broad enough selection that it would be hard not to find something good to drink here. They also offer some NA options like hop water, and even have a cooler with cans to go. I was more than pleased to see they've added a few, simple food options too. (Helllooooo Cajun tots!) I hadn't visited Overflow since attending one of their pre-covid Clean Water Happy Hours, but was invited last night to watch the Seahawks game with friends. A lot has changed since my 2016 declaration that "beer and Lynden" are not often two words you associate with each other. Lynden now has a few hoppy outposts, including a second Overflow location on the west side. Guess I'll add that one to my list, too! This particular Sunday, we were looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a quiet beer and play a game of cribbage. I was excited to see Overflow was open (back in "the day" most Lynden businesses were closed on Sundays). We grabbed a couple of pints (just $5 ea!) and sat down for our game. The service was friendly, the place was uncrowded, and it was hard not to order a second pint before the long drive home to the Ham. Overflow, congrats on 10 years in Lynden! My typical visit to Goods involves (1) stopping at Dumpling Girls (one of their two permanent on-site trucks) to grab some dumpling or noodle goodness, then (2) while I'm waiting for my food order, grabbing a tasty pint of one of Goods' many local craft brews. They feature beer from many of our popular local breweries, and always have a wide selection of things to choose from (which, as a person who prefers an amber or a dark to an IPA, I appreciate). There's also a Mexican food truck onsite, and even a hair salon in a converted bus if you want to get glammed up before your beer. And yes, they still have the plants and veggies - you just have to look a little harder to find 'em.
