That said, the stars are based on the food, and unfortunately this was the most expensive meal we had in Mexico City and it wasn't even close to the best. The food overall was decent, but nothing that stood out as worth the price.
The pan dulce was all cold and firm no matter which variations we tried. We had a party of 9 and many items were forgotten about, which made service feel a bit chaotic.
For my meal I ordered a jamón y queso empanada and a tamale con rajas y queso. About 15 minutes later they came back and said they were out of the jamón y queso empanadas and only had tinga left. I said that was fine, but when it arrived it was cold, almost frozen. I asked them to heat it up, which they did. The tamale, on the other hand, was good--hot with great flavor. The coffee and juice were also solid.
More than likely, although the restaurant and atmosphere were beautiful, I'd go elsewhere for better food at a better price.
