All of the Fred Astaire's have seperate owners, so my experience is only a reflection upon the Boynton Beach Location. (If you are questioning wheter or not to commit to buying a package from this location, I suggest you read more...) For a while, this location was advertising $30 something dollars for 3 lessons. So thinking it would be a wonderful, fairly priced hobby for my boyfriend and I to pursue, I bought the 3 lessons plus another for $100. Upon arrival to our scheduled first lessons, rather than getting on to the dance floor, we were led into the sales office to discuss purchasing a larger package. C'mon people. So after those 3 very brief, pointless lessons, rather than use the extra I had bought, my boyfriend reluctantly decided to buy the whole package. With the $400 we successfully learned/mastered the most basic steps of the waltz and rumba very quickly, but apparently, unless we spent even MORE money, we wouldn't be permitted to learn more.Instead, during our paid lessons, we were forced to practice over and over again, when we had clearly already mastered the steps. So, we could either pay $1000 more dollars for the next package(because single lessons were somehow no longer available to us) or we could never go back. So we never did return, and still have some of our lessons(expired now) still leftover and for the following 2 months recieved a daily obnoxious phone call from them, trying to bring us back in. read more

I have to say that you really get most bang for your buck at this dance studio. We bought a Groupon for two lessons, and ended up buying a package of lessons for a reasonable amount... I was familiar with the dance studio in Wellington to charge twice as much and would hold back during the lesson... Our dance instructor tomorrow has such great enthusiasm and energy! My fiance and I felt very comfortable with her during our six lessons, two of which we still need to take. Tomorrow taught us the Rumba for our first dance at our wedding which is quickly approaching. The dance studio has a weekly party open to all students, I think it's a great way to practice your skills leading or following. I am sure we will continue to use this dance studio to learn more dances in the future! read more

I joined FADS Boynton Beach 2 years ago...one of the best decisions of my life. Dancing is great exercise and this particular studio is exceptionally friendly - much more like a social club than a stuffy dance studio. We have lots of fun both in the studio and out (monthly outings - some for dancing and some for other fun things like bowling). The staff is very professional, great dancers and great teachers. They listen well and teach according to your preferences and needs. Competition winners...teachers, students with teachers and amateur couples. These instructors know how to get the best performance out of you. If you are looking for something less competitive, they can easily turn you into one of the best dancers at the local dance club. They are very experienced at choreographing special dances for the bride and groom wedding dance and likewise promote confidence before performing on that special day. Great place with great people and awesome instructors. My wife and I took lessons before our wedding last year. They choreographed a dance for the song we had picked for our "first dance". Most of our lessons have been with Troy, but the other instructors we've had have been great too. We were both new to dancing, but Troy was so patient, and we really learned a lot. We still stop in occasionally for lessons, and always enjoy our time there. read more

I decided to pick up on dancing in early May as a distraction from the loss of my "four legged child". Fred Astaire in Boynton Beach had an introductory offer of $20 for 1 private lesson and 1 group lesson; the day I decided to go in and pay for my class was the day they were having their "Birthday Party" event which they do every month. This is an hour where all the students mix and mingle on the dance floor and dance with different partners consisting of other students and Instructors; the music changes every 5 minutes or so allowing you to practice different dance styles with different partners in different levels. Though I was there just to watch and I had not paid for that specific class I was welcomed to stay and participate, the owners Vince and Megan and everyone in the studio including the students made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. I took my introductory class with Marcos, he was a true charm! very funny, patient and a fun instructor. Since I am not from the area I didn't take my second lesson until almost a month later; this time it was with Vince (co-owner) his experience as a dancer and instructor reflect immediately. As my lesson ended the Dance Fitness was commencing with Megan (co-owner) and again her experience and style of teaching are superb (though I was welcomed to join without asking me to pay, I watched) It's an hour of practicing different dance styles while exercising! Can't get better than that! Regarding fees and class schedules, their classes never expire, they are flexible on dates and times and for a 7 session you are looking at about $372. It is evident that you need to learn the basics in order to move on to the next level and if you want to learn something specific just ask! They are very accommodating and don't force anything upon you! Every business has room for improvement and should welcome change and suggestions and I believe this is one of those businesses opened to receiving such. Wishing you much success! read more
