To Whom it May Concern I was hit by someone with Loya insurance in April 2024 and the service from this company is horrible. I needed repairs done on my car and ended up with a rental vehicle. When it was time for pay, I called Loya to see if you all would cover the cost and was told I had to pay and wait for a reimbursement check! That was insane!! I returned the car on April 20th and still waiting on my check! Those chargers went on my credit card which totaled $701!! I am left to pay for the APR charges on my card and I was the one that was hit! I should not have to pay anything extra for something I did not cause! This company is nothing but a bunch of sneaky, shady, deceitful, underhanded, rude, inconsiderate, thieves. My son was hit by one of their insured. He is 16. He was in a convenience store parking lot STOPPED in his car while waiting for cross traffic to pass. During that time, the person insured by this fraudulent company backed into his car. He is 16. He is a minor. This was his first accident. The insured go out of her car, apologized, admitted fault, shared insurance information, and both went on their way. After much phone tag and worthless voicemails with no information, my son finally heard back from them that he needed to go see an adjuster to have his car photographed and the damage cataloged. It took three different locations before one stated they had adjusters (the other two said they do not have adjusters and could not help, thanks, bye). After having his car photographed, evaluated, and the claim process started, he received a voicemail to the effect that the adjuster reviewed the damage, the story from both parties, and decided the fault was 50/50 and the claim would subsequently be denied. The other driver had to pay for her damages and my son had to pay for his. I was furious - their insured backed into a STOPPED car. He was waiting on cross traffic. They must have made a mistake, right? Wrong. I was the one who made the mistake assuming they would do the right thing. Upon calling back and being hung up on by their reps 5 times, I finally got through to the adjuster. I asked her about the decision and wanted to know why they denied it. Her response? "Your son did not take evasive action. Because of that, the claim is being denied." When I started to ask a question to get more information about this "evasive action" she interrupted me and stated, "I am not finished speaking. Do NOT interrupt me again. You will be able to speak when I am finished." Needless to say, this changed the entire atmosphere of the call. When this RUDE and insufferable employee finally stopped flapping her gums, I expressed my desire to know what his "evasive action" should have been since it was in a stopped vehicle waiting for cross traffic. I asked, "Should he have floored it to get out of her way and risked causing an accident himself? Should he have thrown it into reverse mashed the gas to get out of her way risking hitting a pedestrian, a building, a car, a pole? What was the evasive action that gives you the audacity to deny this claim?" Her response? "He failed to honk his horn. Because of that, this claim is denied." Before I could get a word in edgewise, "Nothing you say or do will convince me otherwise - this claim is denied." *click* Yup - she hung up on me. Now, for those of you who took the time to read through this, I hope and pray that you are NEVER EVER involved with a driver insured with this company. And for those of you who use this insurance? I hope you are happy with yourself for supporting a deceitful and fraudulent business who's business model is to take any and all fees for "insurance", and provide NOTHING in return. I've been with Fred Loya for one year just because the insurance may be a little bit more inexpensive. Doesn't mean that they have good integrity. The people they have working for them in the facilities is a hit or miss. I went to Location in Aurora off of Chambers and Alameda and I got signed up with insurance Unfortunately my car got burglarized. The insurance deductible was very high that was not the issue the process to total the car. They had no issues with! and cand to get the car right away, but waiting for their adjusters too expedite process is a complete failure, let alone finding out one of my cars was covered under renters insurance, but not the second both of them are full coverage and we pay a pretty penny for it every month that was a mistake from the young lady in the Aurora chambers and Alameda Location. I do not sense a lot of Care for the customers and I am shit out of luck. I do not sense any kind of empathy from these ladies that are in that location stay away from the location on Alameda and Chambers. They will screw you over with a smile. read more

I was hit by someone with Fred Loya on February 15th 2023, my truck has been in the shop since May 5th. A supplement was put in for approval and it took almost two weeks for Fred Loya to approve the supplement. Then finally my truck could be worked on. They say they pay for a rental car, come to find out that I was told it would cover the time my truck is in the shop. Which it does not. It only covers the time they estimate it to take to complete the truck. Which is only 4-5 days and I have been without my truck for a month and a half. They are very slow to respond to anything. No urgency. Every employee I have spoken with, claims adjuster, rental department, insurance agent, all seem to hate life and seem to do their job on their time. I am extremely disappointed an insurance agency seems to not care about people and just to collect. Everyone I have spoken with that works at the shop, my insurance and individuals with insurance, absolutely despise them due to their lack of time management to help customers of theirs or others. I took three weeks of calling daily to get ahold of someone in their rental department. read more

I used Fred Loya for 3 years to cover 3 of my vehicles and I never had a problem. The only complaint that I have is they limit your coverage limits. They wouldn't write a policy with 100,000-300,000 BI limits which my lease required. Other than that you can get fairly cheap insurance. I had 2 claims and they paid both no hassles. From what all I have heard that is great for me. I also heard of some sort of 50.00 cancellation fee they charge if you cancel mid policy, they didn't charge me this because of there inability to meet my new requirements. ALSO, i had changed cards mid way through my policy so they could never hit my card for unauthorized charges. I would have to call in every month to make a payment. This way if they could not store my card on file. I think this was the BEST THING YOU CAN DO. read more

I have been with Fred Loya for 3 years, with no accident, ticket, etc... Not only did they do a rate increase for everyone at different amounts, they also changed their discounts and removed them from policies. The worst part is being told by them that not them or anyone else can tell me exactly how much my increase was or how much my discounts were. Only that after 3 years of no issues and paying every month, my policy has increased by $35. I only stayed with them because they were the cheapest option, but that is not the case anymore. Their customer service in both the stores and the "customer service" is the most horrible I have had to deal with. They can't tell you anything but what you need to pay, not they why to that amount, increase or anything. And let me not forget that the website is a joke and was made to be as clueless as the staff seem to be about everything. After 3 years I am extremely disgusted and disappointed in this company. They have had many complaints lodged against them, most similar to mine (do a quick Google search), and apparently things did change, but in the wrong direction. I hate that these big companies can treat those of us who keep them in business any type of way. It's pathetic and I hope they are forced to change their ways, or that due to their horrible service, they feel the blow via a much lower volume of customers. Know that if you get hit by one of their insured, you will probably not get the full value you deserve. I got hit by a 1999 Ford Taurus in my 2016 Tundra, a $35,000 vehicle. The insurance coverage this guy had was crap to say the least. My vehicle was total loss and the pool of money to cover all damages (there was a fence that got destroyed) was $15,000!! After all was said and done, they had about $8000 to cover my total loss vehicle...filed a claim through my insurance company to get what my truck is worth. This company is a giant ripoff I've been using them for a couple years, and apparently they've changed some policies because someone " committed insurance fraud on them". I had 3 vehicles insured with them and when I had to add this third one which is a 1994 Ford Explorer they charged me $400 as a"down payment" and to apparently add a driver. Later on I found out this did not include my insurance payment for the month which was another $315. I had hit a raccoon a few months ago while under their insurance. I did not make it clean because my deductible is $2,000 and when I got a quote from a repair shop it was only going to cost $900 to fix. Well anyways they canceled my insurance after being late a day and made me go back to reinstate. Our truck was hit by one of their customers. Their original estimate was only based on outward damage, so very low. The body shop wrote a supplemental request in which Loya approved. When we rented a vehicle while the truck was in the body shop, we were told to submit the receipt and they would reimburse. Only stipulation was coulnd't be over a certain amount per day. After work was done and receipt submitted, we received a check for 32% less. When I called, they said oh you only get reimbursed for the hours the repair "should" have taken. I guess if you have insurance through them and are ok cheating other people, you may like them. But if you are hit by someone with this insurance, you need to ask lots of questions because they will not be fully honest and they will cheat you anywhere they can. Nope!! DON'T.........I repeat, DO NOT purchase Fred Loya for your car insurance. This company is sneaky, shady, sheisty, low-down, conniving, uncaring, indifferent and predatory! They provided me a 6-month policy for $260 down, and $210 per month (plus $12 electronic deduction from checking account) = $222/mo. for 6 months. Well, I shopped around and found a policy with another company for $120/mo. (a $100 savings). So, I decided to finish out my 6-months with Fred Loya (since they charge a $50 policy cancellation fee), then switch at the end of 6 months. After the 6th deduction from my bank account, I promptly received a "Renewal Declaration" in the mail, thanking me for choosing to renew my policy for another six months. WHAT!?!? I didn't choose to renew! Yep....you guessed it.....they AUTOMATICALLY renew you! I called to advise I no longer wanted to continue with them, and they said....too bad, so sad! That 6th payment wasn't part of the original 6-month policy. No....it was the 1st payment for the next 6-months. But I explained that the payment breakdown on the original paperwork said that the 6 monthly payments were required for the ORIGINAL six-month policy. They snickered and said...."Sorry, we can see how that would be confusing, but even though it says it is the 6th and final payment for the ORIGINAL policy, it is really the FIRST payment for the renewed policy. WOW!! OK....since you admit that it is misleading, cancel my renewal and refund my money! "Sorry, we have earned that money. If you cancel now, we will only refund a portion. The $50 cancellation fee will be deducted, and we will mail you a refund check in about 2 weeks" Ridiculous! I saw a sign on their office wall that says if you are not satisfied for any reason, to call the Corporate Number. So I did. Got the same answer. Basically, that is their scheme. Tell you you have to pay 6 payments for a 6-month policy, when in actuality the down payment is the 1st payment (not the first monthly payment). And you only owe 5 (FIVE) monthly payments. But they tell you you owe 6 (SIX). BAIT AND SWITCH. DO NOT TRUST THESE LEECHES!!! Run!! Run anywhere but here!! And, since their Customer Service is soooo poor, my only recourse is to tell ALL my family and friends, co-workers, neighbors, acquaintances, business associates, and ANY and EVERY stranger on the street I see that will listen about the questionable "EXTRA" charge that they will saddle you with. This is by far the worst Company I have EVER dealt with. My wife was hit by one of their insured drivers almost a month ago. My wife was injured in the accident, their injury adjuster has still not contacted us one time. The original estimate on the car was for around $2400. The car was not drivable so we had it towed to the body shop. The body shop found another $7500 in damage and after a week Fred Loya declared it a total loss. This was last week, I still hadn't heard anything from them, so after talking to my attorney I called them today. The adjuster- Victor Garcia, said that once the vehicle is totaled it is taken care of by a different department. He told me that they are "backed up" and would be contacting me later today with additional information. He also stated that once the first offer is made to pay for our damage, they would no longer be responsible for the rental car and that I would have to pay for it out of pocket until the check actually arrived. After expressing my extreme displeasure with the way they have handled this claim I sat silent for approximately 30 seconds while the adjuster said nothing, NOTHING, he just sat there silently and when I asked him if he had any information for me, he still wouldn't respond. I could hear him breathing but the man would not talk, I asked if he was still there and he still maintained his silence, made me think of high school. I still haven't heard from them. Upon arriving home from work, I found a letter in the mailbox dated October 16th stating that they haven't processed my claim due to them needing more information and pictures of the car. The letter also stated to call them to set an appointment for this to be taken care of. I called their office and was told that they can not discuss the claim with me because I'm being represented by an attorney and that they will only discuss the claim with him. I only have one piece of advice for anyone reading this, if you use them for insurance, you should really think about changing carriers. Imagine if they had to pay you for your car if it was damaged. If you get hit by one of their "insured" drivers, get a lawyer immediately. read more
