We stand there wasting our time because every single coupon has to be "verified" by management, and half the time there aren't even enough employees on duty to handle it. That's on you -- you don't staff properly, you don't pay people enough to stay, and customers end up paying for it with our time. Fix it. Hire more people. Just need to rant about the cost of their brand name low carb bread and iceberg lettuce. Is 8.00 plus dollars for a loaf of bread and 2.00 plus dollars for lettuce really in line with other stores? Big new store. Basically everything you'd expect from a Freddy. I was purchasing a few items for Thanksgiving and purchased some beer as well. I'm obviously older than the required age to buy beer, but I was asked to show my ID. I was then told that no matter how old you are, management is requiring checks for everyone. What a joke. This is a fabulous Fred Meyers, always clean, well stocked and friendly service. Maybe it's because I live in Portland where shopping anywhere is a vastly different experience, but when I am out in the burbs and decide to run errands before heading home, I'm always shocked at the vast difference in store appearance and overall experience. As an easy example, as you enter this Fred Meyers, there is a display of snack food in the area between the outside door and interior door, where the shopping carts are located. This food would be gone in a nano second if this was Portland! Seeing it there literally stopped me in my tracks! I even told a pic! The store is large, and like many Fred Meyers, some of the borders between departments seems random. Like the garden and BBQ supplies right next to clothing, but overall, it's fine. This Freddy's has a great variety of outdoor seating and seasonal items. That is what brought me here, to stop in after a day exploring gardens in Salem. My Freddy's was out of stock on the item and they had it here in abundance. Used the self checkout, left, then spontaneously decided to purchase some snack items that were in the enclosed shopping cart area, so came back through. The items did not ring up with the correct sale price and the attendant made the adjustment promptly and without question. Instantly figuring how how much to deduct so the total was accurate. I been a loyal shopper of this store since I moved to Oregon in 2014. They are my neighborhood store and have always enjoy shopping here until I meet Sara. I will not return again! I was driving home from work and realized I needed to pick up ink cartridge for my printer. Stopped by Clackamas on the way home and was helped get one and odd I went home. After open the box realized it didn't fit so looked at the time and Clackamas was closed but Wilsonville was still opened so went there. When I arrived Sara the PIC/Manager was at the customer service desk having small talk with the cashier. They finally stopped their conversation and cashier asked what she could help.me with and told her about the ink cartridge issue. She turn to Sara and she immediately pointed out thr policy on returns. I said box was open but the item was still intact and I just needed to get th correct cartridge so I can go home and finish my work. They refuse and said I should go back to Clackamas since they made the mistake not them. Showing my frustration I banged the ink cartridge on the counter and ask her to then find me the correct one and I will deal with the return tomorrow. She said she wasn't sure she could if the item I had already didn't fit and she "was not going to write something off just to make a customer happy." I asked of Allysa was still the manager and they said yes and I asked for her to call me. They said they could not give me her number and I said I asked for to call me. I could see they were not trying to be helpful so I left. I called Allysa the next morning, she apologized and wondered why Sara didn't just make the exchange. I said I'm wondering that too, she took down my information said she wanted to talk to Sara and would call me back. Been several weeks and still have not heard back. I contacted Corp and same thing. I purchased a Samsung tab and returned because I found a cheap one from eBay and when gone back to return it, here the story started on this store return desk was talking to the lady and they don't want to return it as I opened it and they don't have any documentation to prove if you buy a electronic product on 10/16 and return on 10/28 they can't take it back. This white bulky dude showing me white attitude and told me that this is a people friendly store and they donot like the nuisance I am creating as I am asking my refund back, finally the manager shown up and told me they return it back as they donot have any proof not to take it back as no where the policy is a caveat to catch why not taking it back. I'm pissed agitated and wasted my energy to convince them they are wrong and have to return the $180 product /tab back. What a waste of time! Never ever buying any stuff from Fred Meyer anymore! #boycottfredmeyer This store sucks and have white racists working who yell and argue with you even all things in your favor. Don't shop here often but after today won't be back. Went to the specialty cheese section and ask to get a piece cut for me as there was a half round there. The sales person said she did not have time she was putting away freight. I said I had more shopping and could come back in 15 minutes. She said it wPoule be later in the afternoon. I regularly shop at your Wilsonville, OR location and given the virus concerns, am going every two to three weeks. While I don't shop in a hazmat suit, I am very careful about making my trip efficient and short. As you may know, my state, Oregon has banned plastic bags, which I applaud and in turn have spent approximately $50 purchasing your various bags and bins to tote my groceries. Today, when I arrived at a checkout with a cart full of groceries, I overheard the checker, Piper, tell the elderly man in front of me that since he brought his own bag, he had to bag his groceries. When it was my turn I asked if I'd heard her correctly and what was the reason for the self-bagging. Piper replied with, "It's so we don't touch your stuff," as she's 1) Picked up each item and rang it in. 2) Placed the item back on the belt, where 3) It's being touched by a bagging clerk, Faith, who is keeping the items from bunching together at the end of the belt. I said to Piper and Faith, "You realize you're not bagging my stuff isn't logical because at this point, we've all three touched each item." To which Piper replied, "We're just doing what we were told." My retort, "It's not logical and now there's a long line that has to wait for me to bag my groceries." Their united response was to roll their eyes at each other as if I couldn't see them. Once my grocery bagging duties were completed, I asked another clerk why she was bagging a customer's groceries and she said that it was because the customer was paying for paper bags. Neither Piper nor Faith offered this information while they stood doing absolutely nothing, well except for their eye-rolling. I took my complaint to customer service and the clerk at the desk responded to my request for a name and number/email address to file my complaint with, "Well, I always bag my own groceries." How nice for her, she probably doesn't have an upper back fracture injury that keeps her from lifting heavy items or using arms for an extended period of time. She did request a supervisor, whose name was initial, so KC, TC, something like that. I explained my experience, and also, how illogical this policy is. If you think about the items in your store, you have to admit, that someone touched the item to put it in a delivery case, then someone at your store touched the item when they placed it on the shelf, then the shopper (and we're lucky it only one shopper as touched the item) touched the item to place it in the cart and again when they placed the item on the belt. Then the checker touched each item to ring up. And lastly, your NON-bagging clerk touches each item to keep the belt free from a pile up. If, and this is a big if, we're lucky each item was only touched 5 times. But the real concern is touching my shopping bags and bagging my groceries. Seriously??? The supervisor's response was, "We're just following the memo we received from on high." I have been a long, very long, time customer of your stores. I've always bragged about the courteous, helpful staff you have at your stores. And silly me, I thought by shopping on a reasonable basis would help keep your people employed. I don't expect anything will come from my complaint, although I am hopeful that someone took the time to read to the end. I realize these are crazy times and the Coronavirus is affecting everyone in different ways . . . But professional courtesy should not be lost amidst the chaos of the world. This location makes no attempts at enforcing mask mandates. There are frequent altercations over this, which is silly. No one is having their minds changed. It only a matter of time till words turn to more. They have a voice over the speakers saying masks are required which is about as serious as the random "security check section B" recording that plays. I just had a guy with no mask tell me he feels sorry for me. The empathy is overwhelming. read more

I usually have good experiences in the is store but for some reason I got a cashier with an attitude tonight "Mary". Apparently she doesn't like it when people ask her questions about pricing or their balance. Sorry if that offends you Mary! People have the right to ask what they are spending their money on lady. Usually this Fred Meyer is fine, I've never had issues with it. The other day I went in to buy toilet paper and by 9:30am they were already out of multipacks but they had single rolls of toilet paper available. I know they can't sell multiples of multipacks but surely I thought four SINGLE ROLLS of toilet paper wouldn't be unreasonable. Nope. They told me I could only purchase one SINGLE FUCKING ROLL of toilet paper and then suggested I "buy a multipack instead" which there were NONE. What the fuck am I supposed to do? Come back each day to buy a single roll of toilet paper till I have the equivalent of a multipack? That seems to defeat the purpose of minimizing my outings so I can "stay home and stay safe". I understand we're all stressed out and there are guidelines to ensure people aren't hoarding but can we use a little common fucking sense here? Can't wait for this to all be over so Fred Meyers can get their heads out of their ass. For all the other employees who aren't being useless twat waffles, thanks for your service. read more
