The airport itself was pretty neat and clean. Had no issues navigating when I deplaned. However, the trek to my rental had me singing an oldie but goodie. "I would walk 500 hundred miles and I would walk 500 hundred more." Wow, I think it was almost half a mile to get there. Friendly CSR's made up for it though. Just walk across and take the elevator up then walk down the stairs and across then down thru the tunnel then take the fork in the road. Then once you finish with the paperwork, go up the escalator towards the mountains to get to your actual rental. read more

There are nice things about having an international airport in a major U.S. City. One of the great things is that you can fly anywhere around the world within reason right out of your hometown. Also, there are opportunities for you to see very cool Art pieces on your way in and out out of the city. There are a lot of Art pieces displayed through out this airport. I believe that there is new construction because it does look a lot different from pictures that I saw when others visited here. They've done a great job with keeping it fresh clean and culturally relevant. Also, the bathrooms our very updated and new. At least in the terminal we were in near gate five. They have around the clock bathroom attendance, making sure that the supplies are in Check as well as that it is clean. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we rented a vehicle and had a horrible experience. The rental car company will be reviewed separately as it is not a part of the negative experience. The rental car center is about 1/2 mile away from the terminal. THERE IS NO RENTAL CAR SHUTTLE OPERATING. You will need to get your baggage, and then walk all the way to the rental car center in the outside heat. When we arrived, it was about 98 degrees outside and it was absolutely humid and hot. That walk to the rental car center was HORRIBLE. On the way back, after dropping off the rental car, it was 90 degrees. We took the 0.6 mile trek back in to the terminal from the rental car center. It was horrible as well. The highlight of this trip was not only the horrible long walk, but the TSA taking 22 minutes to screen my husband's backpack. The kid was searching forever and ever for some item even though we told him what we thought it was. Anyway, he found it and it was basically an enforcement challenge coin. We feel safer knowing that he's checking everything but the wait was ridiculous. And....WE ARE TSA PRECHECK so it was interesting because we BOTH got flagged to secondary processing. I did have an unopened water bottle in one of my bags, so that was totally on me. read more

This week was my first visit to the Memphis International Airport. Memphis is a small airport compared to ATL and other international airports that I have been inside. I have to admit that I was plenty surprised by how nice and updated it is. There are numerous places to relax, recharge and to work. All of the seating has a place to charge your electronics. There are a few cute shops inside and please tell me why the staff is so darn friendly. I honestly believe that the staff set the tone for the environment and Memphis is killing it. I stopped at one shop and a young man named Dandy was working the register. Dandy was personable, outgoing, answering all of my questions and made excellent suggestions. Honestly, because if Dandy I walked away with several Memphis Wild Huckleberry items to try. read more

MEM is a good midsized airport. It is clean and there is a lot of natural light. TSA has always been pretty efficient here and I have never been when the line is excessive. There aren't a ton of options for shopping and dining, but drinks and snacks can easily be found. They do really well with seating. Lots of chairs at the gates with plugs for all of your electronics. That is a MUST. It is easy to get around and you can get from your gate to pickup quickly. read more

Memphis is a smaller airport. There are 3 sit down restaurants, a Starbucks, a Chic fil a and a couple other options. It is well marked how to get to the uber/lyft area. There is construction going on. The TSA pre check line took longer than expected as there weren't many people waiting. read more

I've had flights at the Memphis airport several times in the past couple of years. I've never had a negative experience either. The airport is small enough that you never feel you're walking a couple of miles to your terminal. The TSA pre-check line is usually short and moves quickly. This airport is nearest to my destination in Mississippi that I drive to that's two hours away. It's great that this airport consistently has great service. read more

I was originally supposed to fly home through Little Rock but due to a series of unfortunate events, I had the opportunity to fly out of MEM again. I lost my ID during travel and was very nervous I would be denied to fly home. The TSA agents were super understanding and kind through the entire situation. Making a very scary and nerve wracking situation into a positive experience. The concourse is very clean and modern with wireless chargers at each seat and super comfy seats outside of the boarding gate areas. Speedy check-in and tbe cleanliness, brightness is top tier. I never feel pressed or cramped for room. One of the few airports in the world where you can actually hear the PA system. No one cares until they need to lol. I love it. The art is top tier and it is a good representation for the city. read more

This airport is not too big and the directions to exit and for baggage claim were easy to follow. It is not the most modern but it seems the staff here is very efficient. My checked bag was ready by the time I walked about 7 minutes to the carousel. The restrooms are also clean but I did not see a lot of dining options. read more

Memphis airport is slow this Saturday morning and for that I'm glad. The TSA was efficient . I'm grateful that I returned the rental car and walked on a beautiful cool escalator to baggage area and immediately took the escalator to 1 at floor and Southwest Airlines ans the security checkpoints all in same place. Sometimes you don't get lucky and have to go through a maze but in this case everything was in order. Once I got to the gate the airline Stewart told me I could check my bag free which I did! The bag was heavier than when I arrived .. did alittle bit of shopping! Overall a nice clean airport! read more

For anyone who has been to a his airport recently, they've been greeted with a bright, clean and open concourse area. Past TSA, this airport is an absolute treat, will all customers using 1 main concourse making it an efficient use of space. It's a design I wish my local airport would adopt. The baggage and ticketing areas could use the same attention that the recent concourse renovation went through. One tip, if you are coming into the airport from the rental car center or parking lot and on your phone, you will drop the call. It's a proverbial dead zone down there. read more

The airport is clean and the windows make good use of natural lighting. There are areas specifically for rideshare pickups, gate drop off areas, and short/long term parking if you're driving yourself. The employees are friendly and helpful with answering questions and getting organized, and TSA check-in is smooth as long as you are prepared. With the restrooms, there are areas exclusively for nursing. There are individual business airline, St. Jude, and military lounges throughout the airport, plus a play area for kids. Airport shops have airport prices, so all those gift cards you got at Christmas will come in handy here (Visa, Starbucks, etc) or stock up at Dollar Tree before coming lol. Every airport has something interesting, and TripAdvisor's store has a read and return station. You can purchase a book and receive 50% off your purchase back when you return it. Pricing depends on the books, and you can return them at any airport with the same store, but I imagine it's convenient for long layovers. read more

Nice airport , pretty chill compared to other airports . Southern hospitality from everyone who works there . Pretty updated in terms of amenities and decor. They even have a stage for music. Only wish they had better healthier food options. Not alot of vegan or vegetarian options but managed to find a falafel wrap and quinoa power bowl. A+++ read more

I actually really liked this airport. The size is quite small and very manageable. There are bathrooms (very clean!) just about every four gates, which is amazing. The only downside was the TSA pre-check line was pretty long, but it moved relatively fast. read more

The Memphis Int'l airport is continuing to improve, happy to say. I used online check in and was quickly able to print my bag tag, drop it off and go thru security within 10 min. I was happy to see that there were ample TSA agents to get people through quickly...and being friendly and helpful on top of that!! Very refreshing. The renovations make the airport clean, modern and easily accessible to the gates. I stopped at the Memphis Made bar and grille for a bite to eat before boarding. Shelly, the bartender, was very friendly and helpful bc I didn't want use the QR code to order. The turkey club sandwich was deliciously toasted and well filled. read more

Beautiful, clean airport. They walk ways and signage are clear and easy to understand. They offer top restaurants, i.e, ChikfilA, Starbucks, Chilis and popular local establishments. TSA quick and friendly staff. Drop off and pick up at airport areas are a labeled different than most airports, so pay attention. Ticketing is departure drop off and baggage claim is arrival pick up. It was easy getting off the flight and getting to the exit. It wasn't a long walk either, which is a plus. It's pretty clean, and I must admit it's nice getting to a seat, and the outlet is working. Also, the line for TSA did not take a long time, and it moved pretty fast, with friendly staff even for an early morning flight. It's also easy to get an Uber or Lyft when you e-gag at the airport. Just cross the street, and boom, there's no need to walk forever for the pickup. read more

Honestly, the first impression of Memphis airport is not bad. When I got out into the terminal, everything's really clean and nicely upkeep. I don't see any weird stuff or leftover construction material. The other airport seems to happen. It's among one of the nicer airports. I've been to. Now this might not be a total view of the entire members and for because I was only able to see the terminal that I got out of. When I was getting a ride out of the airport it was also fairly easy to find where the Reiser area is. And the traffic is not bad at all. The roads out of the airport is also not confusing at all. read more

This is actually a super nice airport! I was very impressed. Everything is very updated, it's clearly been renovated recently, there is plenty to eat and an amazing amount of places to sit in new chairs and charging areas. One of the nicer smaller airports I've been in recently. Check-in of our bags with Delta was easy as pie, TSA was quick and kind (we have TSA-pre) where I was selected for additional screening but had a pat down instead bc I asked for it - the lady was super nice and we had a nice chat. This small airport has about 23 gates and one terminal - easily walkable with some cute shops and shopping to kill the time and get some goodies or Memphis-themed gifts if you need. Rental return was a breeze - it's a quick and easy walk from the rental return garage to the ticketing and bag drop area and they have plenty of short and long-term parking. read more

Such a quiet airport.... The employees at the airport were very helpful... directing us to different locations.... The only issue we had was a taxi driver wanting to over charge us for our drop off.... Thank goodness our hotel sent a shuttle..... and on the hotel app it told us how much a taxi should charge..... read more

Busy airport with friendly staff. No matter if you are waiting in the TSA line or at Starbucks. The people here are very friendly and you can feel the southern hospitality. Just be aware if you are from the North - you are in the South and life is a bit slower and laid back down here. :) read more

This was an okay little airport. Based on my usual luck...or maybe just because even though I fly with Delta and landed at nearly the last gate on the concourse, it was a fairly quick walk to ground transportation and luckily enough, you can walk out the door on the same level and get right to a taxi or an Uber. When I came back, security was super quick. The first newsstand once you go through security has plenty of drinks, snacks and t-shirts. The lady who worked there was very nice. There are plenty of restrooms on the way to the gates along with some more stores near where the concourse splits into a "Y". I grabbed a bite to eat a Grizz Grill near gate 16. The food (a chicken sandwich) was okay and not terribly expensive for an airport. Overall a decent place. read more
