Why is she working at the ticket counter if she hates her job so much. I tried to talk to her, wish her a Merry Christmas and even ask if she was okay. There was no response. Just ranting a little. I don't ask for much but I do expect to be treated nice when I am checking my bags. I was one pound over so I give her an extra star for not making a big deal about that but I think it's because I am flying FC.

He was supposed to stay in Tennessee for a few weeks, so I booked a flight for my mother and me to return to Dallas. I chose American Airlines for their early flight, even though I usually prefer Southwest or Delta. I paid extra for seats together to give my mom, who was on her second flight, a window seat and to avoid a middle seat passenger if possible. Our first flight was canceled, which turned out to be a blessing because my father had a medical emergency and needed to return with us. However, when American Airlines rescheduled our flight, they separated my mother and me, despite paying extra for seating preferences. I hoped my father could sit next to one of us since he needs support. I scheduled wheelchair assistance for my father but received no help getting him from ticketing to TSA or the gate. I had to use a Delta wheelchair (thanks to Delta) and push him myself. At the gate, I asked if we could get seats together due to the cancellation. The agent said no but offered an earlier flight, which we accepted despite the delay. Ten minutes later, this flight was also canceled. The agent then rescheduled us for a 7 PM flight, moving us from our original 5 AM departure. Again, no assistance was provided to move my father. A Southwest employee kindly helped us get to the next gate. When I called American Airlines, the customer service representative was unhelpful and told me to be grateful for the 7 PM flight. Shortly after, our 7 PM flight was delayed to 8:13 PM with another gate change, and again, no American Airlines reps were available to assist. My father missed two emergency dialysis appointments due to these delays, putting his health at serious risk. If this flight gets canceled, I will need to take him to a local hospital, incurring additional costs. This has been the worst flight experience in my 41 years of flying. The lack of support, empathy, and proper customer service from American Airlines is appalling. This situation put my father's life in jeopardy, and the airline showed no remorse or effort to assist us. **Pictures included for emphasis, not to exploit. We are grieving and dealing with a medical emergency alongside poor customer service, and I am very upset.** --- I will update soon if we do not get on our flight and if incur additional charges. 2 minutes after this review had another gate change. Time still 8:13. Update: 10:09 Flight has been cancelled and rebooked MULTIPLE times. Gate has been moved multiple times from 4,6,19 and back again MULTIPLE times. 2 Southwest Flights and 2 AA flights flew out.Still have not received any help with transporting my dad back and forth and last person totally removed from the reservation. They are now saying it is cancelled and they are rebooking me tomorrow 5:58 PM. My first original flight was at 5ish this morning. I have no clue where my luggage is....Will add more pics and update later. Also posting on their Facebook via comments. Oh and the hold time on the phone is between 4-8 hours for my reservation and if I opt out I get moved to end of phone line.

Rebecca was on a break and the gate agent that was covering her break did not know fully how to handle passenger requests and transactions. The other gate agent indicated that we would be able to be assisted with things once Rebecca returns from her break. Many of us got out of line and waited until we saw a female gate agent come to the gate counter. We all assumed that this was "Rebecca". We are so grateful that it was Rebecca. She took care of a customer family who had a stroller and car seat with their babies within 2 mins. She also helped us change our seating assignments as Southwest Card Holders, within 1 minute. She then kept helping others behind us in line and she is awesome. Rebecca at Memphis Intl Airport Southwest Terminal is an excellent employee. She had wonderful customer service, great and efficient transactions, and is very very reliable to passengers. Please recognize and appreciate Rebecca!

Why don't they have a section in their SOP for issues as such and why don't they have a box at the ticket area and/or gate area to make passengers use it to make sure the carry on luggage will fit???? Also, there are opportunities for you to see very cool Art pieces on your way in and out out of the city. There are a lot of Art pieces displayed through out this airport. I believe that there is new construction because it does look a lot different from pictures that I saw when others visited here. They've done a great job with keeping it fresh clean and culturally relevant. Also, the bathrooms our very updated and new. At least in the terminal we were in near gate five. They have around the clock bathroom attendance, making sure that the supplies are in Check as well as that it is clean. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we rented a vehicle and had a horrible experience. The rental car company will be reviewed separately as it is not a part of the negative experience. The rental car center is about 1/2 mile away from the terminal. THERE IS NO RENTAL CAR SHUTTLE OPERATING. You will need to get your baggage, and then walk all the way to the rental car center in the outside heat. When we arrived, it was about 98 degrees outside and it was absolutely humid and hot. That walk to the rental car center was HORRIBLE. On the way back, after dropping off the rental car, it was 90 degrees. We took the 0.6 mile trek back in to the terminal from the rental car center. It was horrible as well. The highlight of this trip was not only the horrible long walk, but the TSA taking 22 minutes to screen my husband's backpack. The kid was searching forever and ever for some item even though we told him what we thought it was. Anyway, he found it and it was basically an enforcement challenge coin. We feel safer knowing that he's checking everything but the wait was ridiculous. And....WE ARE TSA PRECHECK so it was interesting because we BOTH got flagged to secondary processing. I did have an unopened water bottle in one of my bags, so that was totally on me.
