For under 17 bucks I bought a mini monstera (rhaphidophora tetrasperma), a a beautiful vine that can get long and grow across a room. It was very healthy and well foliaged. Not all leggy like some nurseries put out. A Fisher sticker on the pot got them this review.

When I entered the office, no one had their masks on. I asked to open an account and had a receipt for my seller's permit which included my permit number. They turned me away saying that I needed my actual certificate. When I asked the woman at the front desk, where I could obtain a copy of my certificate since I was not sent one in the mail, she did not know. The other woman present who I assume is responsible for opening accounts then told me "Department of Equalization". When I asked if there was a way for me to print it at their office they told me no. I then asked to briefly view the will-call area of plants to get an idea of inventory and was also told no. After persisting that it would be a quick peek in and it was important to see their availability before opening a business account, the woman finally agreed to radio down to the will-call area to see if I could view. She finally agreed to let me see the plants and was very adamant about me not taking any longer than 5 minutes because the employee in the will-call section was "very busy and has stuff to do". When I arrived to will-call, the woman there was EXTREMELY nice, told me I could take my time and would answer ANY questions that I have and was literally the only employee I interacted with that was kind and helpful. After driving almost 2 hours to get to the nursery, and driving another 2 hours back, I came to find out that all I had to do was log into my online account to print the certificate. How does a business which operates by opening accounts presumably almost every day not know this?

I came in with my children (ages 17, 13, and 11). They aren't rowdy or disruptive--they're respectful kids who enjoy plants just as much as I do, with succulent collections of their own. Almost immediately, though, it became obvious that we were being watched very closely. There were several other customers in the store, including other families with children, yet an employee followed us throughout nearly our entire visit. My husband had stayed in the car, so I walked my youngest to the front so he could run to the car to get my husband's debit card, while my oldest remained fully inside with the plants we had already chosen. The employee followed us all the way to the entrance. When I turned around to go back to the plant room, I nearly walked right into him. It became especially uncomfortable when we were right by the Tephrocactus geometricus in the plant room. The employee stood less than 2 feet away from us, pretending to brows while clearly watching us. At that point, I decided I would not be purchasing anything expensive there. I came prepared to spend a significant amount of money, not to feel like I was under suspicion from the moment I walked through the door. I still purchased the succulents my kids had picked out because I had already told them they could each choose a plant, and I'm happy with the quality of those plants. The ladies at the cash register were also very sweet. However, because of my extreme discomfort at being followed around, this nursery lost a much larger sale. I had every intention of purchasing the largest Tephrocactus geometricus they were willing to sell, but I won't spend that kind of money somewhere that makes me feel like a shoplifting suspect. Maybe they simply knew most of their regular customers by sight and didn't recognize me. Maybe it was because I had teenagers with me. I honestly don't know the reason. What I do know is that I felt singled out, closely monitored, and uncomfortable throughout my visit. It's disappointing because I had looked forward to visiting for quite some time. Instead, I'll be purchasing my Tephrocactus geometricus (as well as any other collectible cacti) from Planet Desert in Southern California, where I previously purchased my Fukurokuryuzinboku, as well as my variegated moon crown- and had a great experience. The nursery at planet desert is beautiful, their staff is welcoming, and I've never been made to feel like a criminal while shopping there.
