Took my son to get his hair cut, the man was the only one cutting hair at the time. He was finishing up the second cut since I walked in, a lady comes from the back and calls us up. She cuts my sons ear within the first 2 minutes. She asked about half through how it looked and I told her she needed to trim more off. She left him with patches of uneven hair everywhere. When we left my 8yr old told me she smelled like beer, it was 2 in the afternoon. I had to do my best to fix the damage when I got home, meanwhile I have zero training. Since Brek's father left the shop, Brek and his wife cut hair the way they want to, not the way the paying customer wants...Done with them, hair is not tappered just nicked all to hell and gone. The worst hair cut in my entire life! Very unprofessional! Uneven, cut all my length off very choppy no fade or feathering! Stay away from the girl!!! She sucks at what she does! Showed her a picture of myself on what i wanted the she proceeded to cut my hair with clippers for a feathered hair style instead of scissors! Now I'm left with crooked, butchered hair! I told the lady barber I wanted a #3 clipper cut on the sides, with a high fade into the longer hair on top, to take about an inch off the top, and to trim and even-up the back (which was about collar length at the time). Next thing I know she's run the clippers up the back of my head on the right side and whacked off 9 months worth of growth. My 4" long curly mullet was cut off to only 3/4"-1" long!. At that point it was too late to do anything about it so I basically ended up with a standard military cut. On top of all that, there are also easily visible cut lines where she didn't blend the scissor cuts she made when trimming the hair on the top of my head. I also asked her to trim about a 1/2" off my beard - and she took a full inch (or more) off of it. NOT what I wanted OR what I asked for. Basically she didn't really listen to what I wanted AT ALL. I feel like I got the cut SHE wanted to give rather than the cut I asked for. Then she had the audacity to charge me full price for butchering my hair - no offer of a discount or anything. This was my first time at this shop and I guarantee I'll never go back. read more

Fred's Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Sierra Vista, Arizona

Walked in at 1115am. Three barbers standing there, just looking at me. No customers. Shop poorly maintained and unkempt. Nobody spoke until I said "Hello." One said, "Hi" then turned away from me. I noticed they all had coats on, so I asked, "Too late for a haircut?". The one who had responded before said "Yeah, we're closed", as the other two continued to stand and stare. Closing at 1115, why bother opening at all? Then turning away a customer with cash in hand. Just another example of a Sierra Vista business that drives people away to the chain stores or to Tucson, then complains that they don't have customers. Chamber of Commerce preaches Shop Local! Why? Sam (farthest chair) cut my boys' hair wonderfully! Fast service but very nice cut. $27 for two kids' cuts. Not busy mid day.

Got in and got out with exactly the cut I wanted for a great price. Good conversation and great barber skills.

Very friendly people work here. This is a classic barber shop with the classic barber shop seats. They use warm shaving cream for the hair around your ears and it feels amazing. This is the best barber shop in town and for $12 you can't beat the price. read more

I got my hair cut at Fred's for years till we moved to Tucson. Fred recently retired, but 3-4 other barbers remain to cut your hair. They even do Saturday mornings. Always lots of fun to chat with them. They have a fun rivalry between a few of them about college football (especially ASU vs. U of A). SV Contractor, walked in from out of town, clearly shops get messy, but it wasn't 'busy' so it should have been cleaner... stains on very old waiting chairs, gritty floors... kinda expect barbers to 'clean-as-they-go' ... especially a business that's open 9 hours. Honestly, the 5 stars got me to stop, but I've only seen such shops in NYC, so 3 at best... can not comment on the degree of service, kindly 'About-Face' (just not clean enough for me) Likely, yelp won't recommend, as they appear to only accept multiple reviewers?... regardless, maybe it'll help the Owners keep a cleaner shop.
